Hy! If i can buy used 2060 for 243usd, 3050 for 310usd and 3060 for 405usd, which would you pick next to a 12100f and 16gb 3200mhz cl16 ram?

Interesting. The 3050 falls behind the 2060 in most games, but sometimes it does better. I guess the 2060 has more power but is being limited due to vram.

not just about ram, the 2060 has a 12gb card out as well in tests it performed the same as the 6gb, its the speed of the bandwidth that matters too, which is why the bus speed matters, the 3050 has a 128 bit bus whilst 2060 a 192 bit bus meaning the 2060 is faster at transferring that data which is probably why it wins in FPS in most titles despite having less ram. the 3050 also has a 124 texture fill rate whilst the 2060 has a 201 texture fill rate.

Yeah, I confirm. Both in Halo and Forza I had to lower LOD and Texture to not saturate the VRAM. it's a shame because teorethically it has enough power

@@Soulleey it's not In all scenarios but for games that are memory bandwidth hungry that's where the gain is both cards do trade blows with each other but the 3060 will do better in both Ray tracing and 1440p(in most cases for 1440p) if the 2060 super had more vram it is likely that it would perform better than a 3060 at 1440p due to this gain in memory bandwidth.
In my country, the 3050 has almost the same price as the 2060 and at some stores, the 3050 is a bit more expensive just because it is newer and has more ram.

Question what settings would you need to adjust to get the 3050 closer to the fps the 3060 has and still have it look good ?....That would be a heck of a informative video...BTW Great job and nice you show what graphics card and hardware you used.
Play on high and not ultra. High settings looks just as good as ultra and should give you at least 10%-15% fps improvement (depending on the game).
Lights, shadows and ambient occlusion , but keep high/ultra textures.
If you have the option, use DLSS
even medium looks good enough in most modern games , you have to really be looking for the difference to notice it , I have a 3060 and use high and medium settings just to get above 100fps for a smoother experience on my 144hz monitor , imo that is what maxes a big difference

If u r justing looking for 1080p gaming, go for rtx3050, it is 1/3 or even 1/2 price of a rtx3060, but rtx3060 can go nearly 60fps on AAA games, using 2K resolution.

with my 2060 at 2100 on core and 8000 on memory it looks pretty close to the 3060, i beat my mates 3060 on a lot of benchmarks
Then the 3060 gets overclocked and destroys your card, so what. Also, I very much doubt it unless your friends card is broken. On my channel I have Cyberpunk 2077 running 1440p Ultra Raytracing dlss on, and its 55-70fps. Try it on your card, bet you get maybe 25fps.

so 2060 is still.sweet spot, little bit of OCing and you have beast of the card!
The actual sweet spot currently is the 3060Ti, it's only 4-5% slower than the 3070 and the pricing of it is pretty nice even with the current inflated prices.

no, realistically for gaming at the moment, you only need 16 so you shouldn't notice a difference, unless you are using a cpu worse than the 12900K.

Yeah the leap between 3060 and 3060ti is huge. 3060ti and 3080 are really the best choices if they are available lol too bad they didn't make more of them but I guess chip binning dictates what models they release to some degree

If it's the 1650 super then no, if it's the original 1650 then yes. But i would highly encourage you to at least get the 3060 as with current prices it's not that much more expensive and it absolutely kills the 3050. The 128 bit memory bus of the 3050 is really bad in any memory heavy games.
I went from a 1650 to a 3050, returned the 3050 after a week and payed 69 euro extra for a 3060.
The performance difference is way bigger than the price difference so i'd highly recommend saving money a bit longer and get a 3060!

I still don't get it why people keep trashing 3050. it might be worst RTX series but not that really bad for gaming right? the price might be on par with 2060, but 3050 draws less power and using newer Ampere architecture which is probably have better encoding (streaming performance) than Turing, again, the difference gap might be not huge but it's just nvidia accommodate gpu shortage.

In most test I've seen 2060 is 20-30% superior towards 3050 and in your test it was like 5-8% and 3050 sometimes surpassed 2060. Why is that

If you’re recording gameplay from computer then that could reduce fps but if you are recording from a secondary computer then there would be no performance loss.
