So 50-55% faster with less power usage. I would say a 4090 or waiting for 5000 series is the realest upgrade from the 3080 10GB.
Pretty much. You might get two times the performance by skipping one generation of gpus. Its better to skip rtx 4000 series or rx 7000 series if someone is using rtx 3000 series or rx 6000 series cards .
@@Shaf-ci4om well,for ppl like me whom lives in a 3rd world country and the currency value is decreasing every year by year,waiting for 50 series would be an absolute gamble.
@@elinbarrage9638 that is also a good perspective. From what I have seen in 3rd world countries buying pre-owned is the way to go. 2nd hand market is much better than buying brand new. A lot of 3rd world countries are still selling 4070ti at 900-1000ish dollars including taxes. Which is a lot but you can find rx 6800xt or rtx 3080 for 550-600 ish dollar pre owned in a lot of 3rd world countries. So might as well buy those. But it depends on the circumstances. If you need something now then its better to buy it now.

Games: -50% quality and fun after 4 years.
Try Helldivers 2. You will need some friends to really enjoy it though.
So it offers 50% more performance than a 3080, and it costs 43% more.

I want to upgrade my GPU, so it would be nice to see a comparison between an RX 6900 XT and an RTX 4080 Super. An RX 6800 non XT against a 4070 S would also be interesting. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos. 👍
Upgrading a 3080 with a 4080 super is not worth it, however upgrading a 3060 with a 4080 super is a different story, so waiting till the 50 series drops with a 30 series GPU isn't always worth it, if you can get what you want with the 40 series.
Very strange i get around 60-70 fps with rtx3080 (10gb) in Cyberpunk with dlss quality + RT on + evrything on ultra, +my system is on AM4 with 5900x. Anyway no meaning to upgrade untill GTA 6 release...
I think I'm going to upgrade for the DLSS 3 & low frame time for VR usage

5:35 Frametime on 3080 is smoother.
Difference between 1% low and avg framerate on 4080 is much higher, causing worse smoothness.
No matter what card you have, what brand it is, always lock your frames bellow the average. If you can average a game at 110fps, lock it at 100. This help with frame drops greatly. Some games, fps just doesn't matter to me, I might lock it at the 1% low
Why does the RTX 4080S use 1684MB of vRAM more than the RTX3080 in the first game.... and in all games its higher video RAM usage, and especially in the Avatar game, 2.6GB more vRAM presents that these aren't trustworthy like for like comparisons.
if that isn't your goal, to present a real and true like for like comparison to isolate the GPU performance between the two, we shouldn't see such a high variance there. Whatever testing methodology you have isn't fleshed out enough and these results are misleading to your viewers, which is akin to lying.
Maybe you don't understand how pc resource manage as well you think you do. Both ram and vram are utilized more as you have more of it. It's not something new. 10 vs 12 gb 3080 and 8 vs 12 gb 3060 owners been reporting different vram usage for years. But we already know behaviors like this prior from ram usage way back in the day. When systems had 4gb of ram, it will use less than 4gb of ram. But if you have the same system, with 8gb, it uses more. Currently, people who have 16gb of ram run just fine, but if you have 32gb of ram, you'll see windows frequently uses more than 16gb.
It's fascinating to see someone think they are the leading authority in a subject they don't understand. The amount of false confidence to call someone a liar when you can't even grasp known concepts.
