    Thnx for these informative videos. What gauge wire will you recommend me starting with? I was thinking buying the 24 gauge reel first. I want to use it to do some decoration on my wood turned bowls.

    Razor tip also make an open source wire pen I believe, though I can't be 100% certain. All of these points can be made for any machine that accepts loose wire points.

      Hi Hihemarojiboy
      I use the recommended Nickle_Chrome wire. it's a Basic wire you can get from most scientific or pyrography suppliers called "Ni-Chrome"

    Just wondering if a heavy gauge copper wire could be used to make these tips? Love your videos btw! And I'm also not offended by the term, "guys", as I use it myself if speaking with a group of mixed gender people.

      copper wire has a chance of damaging the machine but theoretically might work, all to do with flow of power and resistance, don't know the full details off the top of my head

      yeah the videos ancient, modern videos don't have this issue, but redoing the videos is pointless because no one would find them on the search engines.
      Glad you enjoyed the video despite the repetition

    What a great series of lessons for pyography.
    But, the word 'GUYS' is really over used & really hard to listen to. Bob

      hey bob, you wouldn't believe the amount of times I have gotten that comment, and in my newer videos it is toned down significantly, this was a verbal tick and anxiety thing from a young aspie guy trying to put himself out there

  • @terryevans6625
    @terryevans6625 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I assume you realize that a lot of women do this too. the use of the word "GUYS" is one sided I'd say.

    • @TheLearningDroid
      @TheLearningDroid  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Terry as stated repeatedly for the last 4-5 years. The word guys was a verbal tick. When I started doing youtube I suffered from social anxiety, and was trying to combat it. The verbal tick developed as part of it, and is no longer in videos.
      On top of that guys in this context while I will admit a generally masculine term, in some parts of the UK refers to a group or gathering of peoples regardless of gender. Not all cultures are used the same way.
      I have nothing against women doing any hobby, activity or job they desire, and if you look around my page you'll find I often encourage, assist, provide advice to or take lessons from my female watchers.
      I feel your comment is more focused on how YOU personally feel than how I do. I am sorry you feel so negative towards the world you must try to find a sexist argument in what is just a video explaining the basics of wire point tips.

      I'm female and the term guys doesn't bother me at all.

      @@TheLearningDroid I'm glad you've pointed this out, I have no issue and use the phase myself, is super hard to make a decent video and it's weird talking to yourself whilst filming. Some people will pick on any negative for no reason, and if any feminist moans about the phrase guys I swear to god I'm going to loose my boggle lol. I've just started out in pyrography and your videos are fab, you have saved me a lot of time and wasted money this hobby has helped me with my depression. Thank you xx

      @@TheLearningDroid thanks for the reply 💖I don't normally comment but I felt an overwhelming need to 😊. I grew up with the phrase, if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Maybe we need a modern version, don't type anything at all instead!. I hope your anxiety has become easier. I've binged on your Vids recently and you've come a long way. Well done 👍🏻.I don't have the first clue about how to make a video and I can barely take a good selfie 😂😂xx

      Please stop telling people how to act or speak just deal with it. People are who they are and don't need negative criticism over petty things. It's not easy making a good video. Many people in the UK say guys and various phrasing like it. :)
