This is exactly what I'm looking for, I build customer guitars and dabble in other woodworking but I've been looking for an original way to present my logo on my guitars that isn't see. Often. This is definitely it: I use a lot of unique and highly figured woods for my builds so I don't want to have a painted, silk screened, or decal logo. I think I finally found the solution. I've toyed with using my soldering iron but didn't want it to look like a Cub Scout built the guitar. These pens are very precise, I'm also a full time tattoo artist and graphic artist so I think I'll be able to do some cool designs. Very cool. Just realized I sounded like a braggart, not my intention I'm just very excited to find this product.
As a tool review channel, I think that this looks to be one of, if not the best pyrography tools on the market. I may have to check this out a bit closer
Great question! We currently have 2 sizes of calligraphy pens. Here is a link. treelineusa.com/pyrography-and-woodburning-tools/razertip-wood-burning-pens/ball-and-writing-woodburning-pens/
Hell thanks for your video nice one . I want to nuy these kit but Im not sure how many goods I have to choose at the first time for startimg Would you recomand which one I have to buy? thanks
Hi Jihoon. Thank you for your question. We have a couple different starter kits to choose from. Here is a link to a Razertip kit that I think works great for most people. treelineusa.com/razertip-wood-burning-kit/
Thanks for this video! I want to purchase one soon. But I wasn’t sure if they were sold as individual pens or tips that you would need to change out on one pen.
Great question! The pens we sell all have the fixed tip. This way it is easier to swap out the whole pen, you get a more reliable connection, and it allows you to be closer to your project. The interchangeable tips are less money, but after a little carving most people prefer the fixed tip style. If you have questions or if you need any suggestions on which pens to get please give us a call. We would be happy to help. 1-800-598-2743
Thankyou for the video. Just to be exact - what kind of wood are you using and how can I get it- am in Canada. Will be ordering but when I order the kit are all the once you are using included? Thankyou for your reply
Great question. Most of the higher quality burners can use other brands of pens with an adapter. Most of them use the RCA connections, but it will depend on if your cord has a male or female end. Feel free to give us a call and we can let you know which adapter you will need.
I recently added two BPF (?) pens and I get so frustrated trying to keep the tip in and had to order 6 screws to my shopping list. Where's the tutorial revealing this secret. Thank you for your tutes.
Good question. The burner really is best used on the surface. If you wanted to cut deep groves I would recommend using a rotary tool. Feel free to give us a call and we can give you more specific recommendations for your projects.
I'm trying to burn a stagecoach pulled by six horses on a pine 2x6x40in. long and it did not come out well at all. When I went against the grain, it stops momentarily and burns a hole...with the grain , the lines are fine....this is my 1st attempt at wood burning with a cheap burner. Any tips for me? Thank you
Welcome to woodburning!! One recommendations would be to make sure the wood is sanded to at least 220 grit or finer. This really helps to ensure you have a smooth "canvas" to work on. The second tip would be to try to avoid pine or any soft wood with a prominent grain structure. The grain lines are quite dense compared to the soft wood in between and it makes getting a consistent line tricky. Basswood, birch plywood, maple, or other light colored woods with a more uniform density might help. Feel free to give us a call if you have further questions. 1-800-598-2743 Happy burning!
How would you compare this burner to the Walnut Hollow® Creative Woodburner? I think my work would be much better if I switched to wire tips, but cost is an issue for me.
That is a great question. We have a couple of the WH Creative burners here and have had a chance to play around with them. The Razertip heats up and recovers faster which allows you to move along at a faster and more steady pace. The WH burner has 4 tips available while Razertip has over 200. The Razertip does get a hotter which allows you to burn darker tones easier. The WH burner is certainly a step up for the soldering iron style woodburners and it is great to have smaller wire tips. We know the Razertip is more expensive, but it is a tool to enjoy for a lifetime. Please don't hesitate to give us a call if you have any more questions. We are always happy to help.
Hi Patricia! In this video we used basswood. Basswood is light colored so it shows contrast well and has a light density so it burns quickly. We recommend sanding the wood surface to at least 220 grit, but if you can go as fine as 320-400 grit you will have an even better "canvas" to work on. If you have other questions feel free to give us a call.
Burning on painted surfaces is a little tricky. The ball pens would probably work the best, but burning on the raw wood would be much easier. Here is a link to the woodburning ball and writing pens. www.treelineusa.com/pyrography-woodburning/woodburning-pens/ball-and-writing-woodburning-pens
Marianne, congratulations on your purchase of the Razertip burner. I think you will love it! Even if you got the burner with the interchangeable tips, you can always add the fixed tipped pens later.
Hi Karin! Fun project. I don't have any experience with burning on plastic. Yes, the burner would make a mark but I don't know how easy it would be to control or if it would gum up the tips. I am sure different types of plastic would react differently. Personally, if you only had one cap mug to brand I would try it and you can always scrape off the tips when you are done. Maybe practice on the bottom first where it would not be as noticeable.
Hello. Thank you for your interest. You can submit your order at www.treelineusa.com. Depending on the mail it can take 2-4 weeks for delivery to India but we ship the same day the order is placed. If you need a 220v burner please note that in the comments section. Thank you again!

hi there; nice and informative video :) i have a (probably) stupid question, if i may: could a pyrographer be used for candle carving? just curious thanks for your feedback
Hello! Thank you for your question. The great thing about the Razertip burner is its ability to control the heat. The settings go from very little heat to cherry red and everything in between. Honestly I don't know anything about candle carving and what supplies are usually used. You may be able to find a local woodcarving club in your area and chances are they will have burning equipment you may be able to use to try out and see if it works. If you do find out either way please post back here for others to know as well.
I don't know if this'llwork for me. I work on gourds and because they're not a flat surface, I lose control of the pen so the lines don't come out crisp.
We have many gourd artists that love the Razertip! There are many different techniques that work great for lines. You could use the blade style (skew, spear, or knife) and it will actually "cut" into the surface which can help. The ball and writing tips also work and they keep up on the surface. You are welcome to call us anytime if you have question about specific projects. 1-800-598-2743
Yes! If you go to our website, it will calculate postage for you. If you need a 220v unit for your country please mention that in the notes or shoot us an email when you place your order and we can make that change.
Most of the pens we sell are "Fixed Tip". They are so much easier to use and allow the user to have a very solid connection in the tip. It is also warrantied for a year when it is sold this way. Razertip does sell a pen called the Binding Post Pen (we call it the Create a Pen) that allows you to swap out just the tip. Here is a link. www.treelineusa.com/create-a-pen-handpiece.html
I would guess that there is a problem with the rheostat (not common at all). I would contact Razertip as these power supplies have a 3 year warranty. Again, this is not usual, but Razertip is great to work with. Here is their phone number. 1-877-729-3787
The pens will work with many other high end woodburners that use an RCA connector to swap out the pens. Generally speaking they will not interchange with the soldering iron styles.
Hi Emilio. Yes, we do have 220 volt units available. They are the same price, but when you put your order in please include a note (or send us an email) letting us know you want the 220 volt unit and we will gladly make the change. Thanks!
