- In a shopping spree for VHS recordings of the late 90s to the 2000s, I came across this tape from a PBS station in Nashville where it seems that the FCC is accusing viewers in the area of witnessing piracy without reporting it. It can also be interpreted as a hijacking by individuals with malicious intent. All news articles and records about this have been since purged.

Wait! You still have a vintage copy of a pirated Teletubbies tape? I remember owning one when I was 12. At the time I was really into the Teletubbies, and I wanted to watch some shows whenever I wanted to. My mom said she saw a yard sale with tapes, and then she asked if I wanted to come with her. I said yes, obviously, and drove to the yard sale.
When we stepped outside, we found an old man selling clothes and tapes. We took a good look at one of the tapes and then saw that it was Teletubbies. Yes, I had exclaimed, and yes I had said when my mom bought it for me immediately. The old man whispered underneath his voice a language I didn't understood, but I had simply brushed it off as him talking to himself.
We popped the tape into the video player and then I was with my popcorn, watching the show vigorously. It was exactly like the thing you showed in the video -- the normal intro, then a scary black and white image demanding money at the address shown. To say I was petrified at the time was an understatement -- I was mortified.
My mom and I had decided to burn the tape in our charcoal grill and then check on the old man again to talk about his Teletubbies tape. When we entered his front yard we noticed no branding of a yard sale at all -- in fact, it had said that the house was for lease. We left soon after, but that memory was implanted into my brain after that. I could not sleep the first weeks when that happened -- horrible, horrible nightmares of the Teletubbies and their gruesome antics kept me awake.
I thank you for documenting this find to TH-cam. I thought it was lost forever 10 years after we had burned the tape, but say no more. You are a real saint -- I knew those Teletubbies weren't, though.

Alright guys im that one guy that makes scenarios.
Imagine your 6 years old, you stay up late in your room and decide to binge Teletubbies for a very long time, its 2:37 AM, its windy and raining. Then you start to get tired, then all of a sudden you see this, the Teletubbies lined up with some noise effect with their eyes being pitch black from Lala to Po, then ominous music behind that, the fear radiates you immensely, you want to scream but you're to scared to do so, you're shaking, you can't move like a lucid dream, so you do a reality check by turning over very slowly then after the very creepy message finished, you still feel scared as you're still trembling wanting to scream for help, but then after you think about the message an emergency broadcast shows up, but it's those test ones so you just hear the "BEEP BEEP, this is a broadcast, this is a drill BEEP BEEP" then coincidentally the power goes off then one of your Teletubbies plushie falls on you due to the wind by the window being slightly open its Po, he is just there with his face between your face.

Does anyone know the source of that B&W Teletubbies image in the video? I've seen it before and I know that those Teletubby models are from Garry's Mod, but I could never find the original version.

A backstory:
When i was 4, I was watching teletubbies. The person who tells you the sponsors said: "Teletubbies is made in contribution with your PBS station and viewers like you. Thank you." Then the screen cut to black and then what i saw was pretty creepy. It was the teletubbies, but they were in black and white and had blackened eyes.
The message said that i was watching cable unauthorized. And then it said i had to pay $350 to an address i never even heard of.

Once I remembered there was a yard sale at a unknown location, though it was selling tapes and some paintings. I bought the teletubbies tape for my little brother, I decided to watch with my younger brother. But when we started watching, I felt sick I knew something is wrong. When I was watching, this scene popped up my younger brother was screaming I was going to inject the tape. When I inject the tape I telled my mom to burn this, due to that reason, my mom burn the pirated tape in a bbq night. My younger brother was dramatized, and I was in fear. From this day I was dramatized by fear. But 14 years later I was looking at TH-cam videos. When I found this. It was the same thing I saw from 14 years ago. I was surprised. I love horror like this, things where it's like a VHS or old game. Especially the ones where it's about piracy because those are the most realistic. Its realistic because it can be that You're a stupid kid and buy a game for cheap on a random website and it scares you like this, auaghh I just love it for some reason. Good job!
Thing is, not everything had an anti-piracy thing. Some games(a LOT in fact) either had it easy to bypass, or never had any sort of anti-piracy measures. The Atari 2600 is rather notorious for the latter for well... certain reasons.

@@ExtremeWreck I've never played sonic CD but I imagine playing it on a big screen TV we used to have, it's dark in my room, and that comes on with the TVs terrible audio.
