@A Toxic White Masculine Man Like all major inventions over the millenia, the internet changed our society for better AND for worse. It's never as simple as a new discovery being good or bad.
A lot of people have mentioned it, but really, being the generation that grew up just before the internet and then growing with the internet was an insanely cool time. We really got the best of both worlds.

Born in 2001, I feel like the early 2000's felt like there was a brief moment where it was a perfect mix of both. Everyone was close and together but tech was just advanced enough to seem wild, awesome, and always innovative. Things weren't perfect, but there was the future, community, and vibe that made it seem way more hopeful than today. Everything now feels so divided, hopeless, and a bit scary. Just hope we can return to days like these soon, humanity definitely needs it
Just because the new generation isnt like the 90s doesnt mean it sucks. Most of the 90s kids are so ignorant. They say kids these days are so stupid because they are not born in the "90s".

Ending song got me in tears. At some point in our lives, we watched our last Cartoon Cartoon, we sang the farewell song for the last time, we watched the last reading rainbow, and we watched the zoo books ad for the last time. We played outside in the woods until dark for the last time. We hung out with our childhood friends for the last time as kids. Maybe I'm emotional because of the state of the world in comparison to how things were in the 90s, or maybe I just miss not having computers and phones on us at all times. If I could go back, stuck in time forever, it would be these days. Love, '94 child :(
@@karinadelma It was an incredible time, like the ’90s spilling into a new era. American Idol was in its prime, and shows like House, Punk’d, Heroes (season one), and Lost were redefining TV. TH-cam had just launched, mainly filled with funny home videos-one of them, "Evolution of Dance", became the first video to reach a million views. Watching this about 15 years later and the farewell song at the end almost brought tears to my eyes. Have two kids of my own now and I miss these shows. As well as read between the lions and bear in the big blue house. Great shows our children should all still be watching
Reading Rainbow! My family didn't have cable growing up, so I missed a lot of these. But I sure had public television and I watched the heck outta some Reading Rainbow. Thank you for compiling and sharing these clips. The nostalgia is real. I miss the 90s.
I played [TMNT: Turtles In Time] for what seemed like every day when I got home from school... and I could make it through solo with any of the four turtles. Even the Michelangelo was my favorite, I did enjoy playing as Raphael in the game because of his unique double kick move.
Playstation- instantly brought me back to the Ridge racer, Crash bandicoot and Tekken 2 demos. It also reminds me of the first and second resident evil games. This sound is just pure gold.
I was born in 1996, and I remember a majority of these since we heard these throughout the 2000s. Especially the Walt Disney logo that used to be on the VHSs. Guess we 90s and 2000s kids have a lot of sounds in common.

@Power 106 I was born in 1994 and experienced almost everything here lol What I didn't experience is because I was not born in the US. I guess it depends on how much access you had to old things too. I had had nes, sega, playstation, as well as windows 95, 98 and xp in my hands as long as I can remember. Of course also playstation 2, game boy color, advance, ds, etc. but that's a little more 2000s. I think people want to make us fit in gen Z just because they're jealous some 90s kids got to experience the 2000s as well. And I could also talk about movies, series, music, fashion etc.
The vocal harmonies during the key change singing "I can be anything" feels so empowering, especially as a youngster. It subconciously made me love reading.
Fortunately, you can relive the glory days by deleting your social media, and streaming services. Invest in physical media again, which directly pays the artist, and gives you that tactile, analog feeling. The one unfortunate aspect of nostalgic escape we can’t return to anymore is the video rental store. Which was, for many of us, a huge part of our childhood.
I hadn't thought about that show in many years before today. Back when some kid shows had farewell songs at the end. (The most infamous example being a show featuring a certain fat purple dinosaur, but we don't talk about that.)
1989 here, thanks for keeping my chair warm. I'm the person your comments apply to 😉 Nah, theres room for all of us. But born any later than '94 then I can't relate at all. My girlfriend is April '94, and she didn't even know you could kick your older brother off the internet by picking up the house phone. So what if I broke almost every single GI Joes internal rubber-band, Josh?! I see you're almost to the nipple of that picture you're downloading. Would be a shame if.... (Picks up phone)
This is pure nostalgia. Kids will never know how bad we wanted the tiger poster or if someone picked up the phone that was it for internet until they got off
Oh Cartoons Cartoons.... Those were quality cartoons back in the day bursting with creativity, humor for kids and adults to enjoy, and dynamic storylines. They even still showed classics too like Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry. Good times.
the irony there? the Cartoon Cartoons caused the old shows to get booted from the lineup because kids were watching the new shows more than the classics
The windows 95 startup hits hard. I was 6 years old and fascinated with that OS. Home computing was wildly fun back then. I can’t tell you how many hours I spent on KidPix
I was born in 1985, I don't remember a lot of the 80's but do remember the 1990's like it was yesterday. It's amazing how a sound or smell can bring back so many memories. I remember so many things that happened in my life like at home or in school. I enjoyed hanging out family and friends, watching tv and playing video games. It was definitely a great time to be alive and to enjoy life.
Lol same. I was born in 95 and I always said that I was happy to have been one of the last generations without technology (somewhat at least) throughout childhood while also experiencing the big break of it. And of course seeing the beginning of social media and how it’s changed society throughout the years.
My dad had me camp out at the radio with a cassette inside the stereo ready to hit record whenever Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" came on. I was barely 10 at the time and the only music I remember really was Smash Mouth - All Stars, Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 and all the Backstreet Boys and N Sync songs.
The good times: no worries in the world. Be right back while I cry... lol best times of my life! I’ll give my kids the best lives and show them my childhood!
Out of the Box used to be one of my favorite shows when I was younger! I miss the 90s so much! Sometimes I wish I could time travel just to experience some of it again.
I was a 2000's kid. I remembered everything other than the first nick theme, the crossfire ad, and the Goodbye song (only one I can recall was Bear in the big blue house... VHS ftw.) Had a Pentium 3 Windows 98SE machine in our basement, and a pizzabox style Pentium 1 Windows 95 machine. Good times.
Shed a tear at the end. We have met again! Thank you for the video took me back to my childhood literally I felt like a child watching it again through these very eyes crazy lifes a trip
Half of this stuff i remember but now watching it over and over i remember everything from this video, thank you for the nostalgia i'm a 90s baby born in 1990 i just turn 34 a week ago. I really miss the 90s great video btw also thanks for reminding me of dial up good times
That last one. Oh Be still my Broken Childhood Heart, It's going to be okay. I'm not gonna cry. I'm not dammit. Glad to have lived through it enough to know the lyrics of, "So Long," almost by heart.
I was born in 03 and a lot of these i just have a connected feeling with i dont know how to describe. Like some 80s songs make me think of pige in the 80s even thought i didnt experience it. 90s were techy but happy
Videos like these give us Zillennials (‘98 baby in da house) identity crises because I can only say I have memories of PERSONALLY experiencing half of these, and the other half of the nostalgia I get from these videos comes from me having watched Gen X and full-blown Millennial family members appreciate these things while I myself was too young to participate (but the memories are 100% there. see: watching my then-teenaged cousin rock out to Green Day and Linkin Park-which *I* developed a lifelong love for as a result of this influence-on his portable skip-proof CD player and having foggy memories of my manhattanite parents freaking the fuck out on 9/11 and me grasping the fact that something bad had happened that day but not understanding exactly what)-still, since they are part of my earliest memories, it feels as if I’ve lived them myself.
Where did the time go? I kinda feel like growing up in the 90s was the best time to be a kid. not even rose tinted glasses. it was the perfect mix of new tech cool shows and no woke.

Was born in 1983 so I remember the 90s from beginning to end and while it was far from perfect it was a fun chill time for most of us. I miss so much about that decade, so yeah, this is a nostalgia overload but it’s all good! Having smart phones and having the Internet at your fingertips is nice but I still miss the 90s.

I am in the most shittiest point of my life right now. But this sure helps me escape it all by going back in time and remembering when I had a happy life.
No matter how shitty things get, just know that it will get better. It might take time but things always get better. Just keep your chin up and keep pushing forward. I totally agree Steven I know the feeling anything I’d do to be able to step into a time machine
Oh man I loved reading rainbows opening. I was so relaxing and warm.
Watching this about 15 years later and the farewell song at the end almost brought tears to my eyes. Have two kids of my own now and I miss these shows. As well as read between the lions and bear in the big blue house. Great shows our children should all still be watching
I totally agree! Bear in the big blue house and out of the box I believe are on Disney plus
The Walt Disney sound almost made me cry.
Mighty Ducks all the way.
same here!
@I Am Who I Am ...Care to elaborate?
@I Am Who I Am ...I agree about the cartoon. However the movies were good.
The Walt Disney sound almost made you cry because of nostalgia
Reading Rainbow!
My family didn't have cable growing up, so I missed a lot of these. But I sure had public television and I watched the heck outta some Reading Rainbow.
Thank you for compiling and sharing these clips. The nostalgia is real. I miss the 90s.
Born in 1987. And the 90s was amazing!
Same here. Feels great to look back
I played [TMNT: Turtles In Time] for what seemed like every day when I got home from school... and I could make it through solo with any of the four turtles. Even the Michelangelo was my favorite, I did enjoy playing as Raphael in the game because of his unique double kick move.
I was born in 1981, and this hits really hard. Makes me realize how precious that time period was.
God it was windows 95, I've been trying to remember what that fucking sound was forever. Thank you for this video
ya welcome!
Ngl I teared up when the Reading Rainbow theme played 😭
If that wasn't nostalgia idk what is..definitely brought me back to the good old days. Great vid Andy!!
Thank you (: I'm glad you enjoyed it!
i don't know about anyone else but that relaxed me i miss the 90's
Playstation- instantly brought me back to the Ridge racer, Crash bandicoot and Tekken 2 demos. It also reminds me of the first and second resident evil games. This sound is just pure gold.
I was born in 1996, and I remember a majority of these since we heard these throughout the 2000s. Especially the Walt Disney logo that used to be on the VHSs.
Guess we 90s and 2000s kids have a lot of sounds in common.
Remember we had small cellphones Nokia’s from 1997?

Even though I was born in 2001, I still grew up with plenty of these iconic sound, from Pinball to Reading Rainbow. Such good times.
“Kids born in 1999”..... tell me again how much you miss the 90’s
richard young 🤭😂
I make it a rule of thumb; if you're old enough to remember 9/11, you're a 90s kid. Otherwise it technically makes you part of Gen Z.
I mean…being born in 1999, I literally missed the 90's! lol
Everyone knows the 90s didn't end until 2005
That reading rainbow intro hits me in the chest every time
❤ On everything I turn into Donald Glover when it comes on 🤣
This made me a book worm for life
The vocal harmonies during the key change singing "I can be anything" feels so empowering, especially as a youngster.
Which was, for many of us, a huge part of our childhood.
it’s also (nearly) impossible to get and hold down a job or relationships with anyone…
That cartoon cartoons opening brought back one hell of a feeling
Damn this brings me back. How I wish I was a kid again on a Saturday morning with a bowl of cereal watching the toons all morning.
Yes. 6am
How dare you stab me in the feels with that Out of the Box ending?!
Ooopppsss 😈
I hadn't thought about that show in many years before today. Back when some kid shows had farewell songs at the end. (The most infamous example being a show featuring a certain fat purple dinosaur, but we don't talk about that.)
Agreed as was the final clip as I remember the song cause I used to watch w/ kids I used to watch!
Yeah, that one hurt.
2:24 I almost reflexively covered my ears like I did in the movie theater so many times hearing this. Man, what a different world we grew up in.
My son did that, too. He was terrified of the Dolby sound thing for some reason..
It's something about those synthesizers that had us freaked out lol And it doesn't help that it was loud as hell 😂
"Gahhh! It's the sound system promo!"
Being born in 1996, I definitely got a blend between 90s and 00s nostalgia
Same here. "Don't forget to rewind the tape for blockbuster"

1989 here, thanks for keeping my chair warm. I'm the person your comments apply to 😉
Nah, theres room for all of us.
The 90s kid gatekeeping is so incredibly cringey
This is pure nostalgia. Kids will never know how bad we wanted the tiger poster or if someone picked up the phone that was it for internet until they got off
I'll argue with anyone but the 90s was The BEST Era ever
Ahh the good ol days. Back when you didn’t have any responsibilities, you could watch cartoons all day, play ps1, and enjoy it with friends
@@bostonrailfan2427 I didn't know that! That's so sad :(
@@KazeKakyoku it led to Boomerang being created and the shows finding life on streaming services so it worked in the end
Gosh those Windows 95 and 98 hit me hard in the feels.
I'm a grown up ass man in my late 30's and a father now , childhood seems so far away...
I don’t know if I want to cry or feel nostalgic
Oh that's easy...both.
Nostalgia is the most beautiful kinda of pain.
A flood of memories just came rushing back.
I totally forgot about cartoon cartoon Fridays!
How could you forget such greatness?!
Cartoon cartoon Fridays were the best in my 90s childhood ❤
This video is for all of us who refuse to deny Pluto’s planetary status.
The early 90s was an 80s hangover but man I miss the 90s so much. Incredible time. Happy I got to experience it.
Sweet sweet memories, life was good back then.
I'm here after watching the "Things 2000s kids will never forget," and being born in 94 has thrown me into this weird limbo of remembering both.
Yh I was born in late 89 and there's a crossover as half my childhood was spent in each decade 90s/00s
Lol same. I was born in 95 and I always said that I was happy to have been one of the last generations without technology (somewhat at least) throughout childhood while also experiencing the big break of it. And of course seeing the beginning of social media and how it’s changed society throughout the years.
The squiggle lines that were every where ( cup, buildings, cars, ect.)
I was born in 1977 and the 90’s were my time to be awesome. Man can I go back? Anyone like alternative music as much as me?
grunge
Jinko jeans but I was poor so I wore Pipe Jeans
My dad had me camp out at the radio with a cassette inside the stereo ready to hit record whenever Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" came on. I was barely 10 at the time and the only music I remember really was Smash Mouth - All Stars, Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 and all the Backstreet Boys and N Sync songs.
The last clip: What a duo of absolute professionals?!!!
The good times: no worries in the world. Be right back while I cry... lol best times of my life! I’ll give my kids the best lives and show them my childhood!
It was a much better time
Out of the Box used to be one of my favorite shows when I was younger!
Good times.
I’m not even a 90s kid, but this is strangely soothing in a way I could never put my finger on. It’s like I miss a time I never existed in
I wanna cry sooo bad like not trying to sound dramatic I miss this generation 😭
Robert Luciano we can cry together!
Yo sitting there seeing "dialing....." had to be that point in my childhood where I sent the most prayers to God

Clearly you and I had the same kind if internet - bad!
And the worst sound? When you heard the click cuz someone picked up the phone. Lmao.
Shed a tear at the end. We have met again! Thank you for the video took me back to my childhood literally I felt like a child watching it again through these very eyes crazy lifes a trip
We were the last generation to have the best of both worlds as kids. Civilization peaked right before 9/11 and we took it for granted.

I still get chills from the Windows 98 boot sound.
YES! 99 baby here!
Imagine growing up having never heard a CD skip.... damn. '93 here
Holy cow the PlayStation intro reminds me of late nights with my buddies and playing games all night like Twisted Metal.

The AOL start up did it for me. I miss those days.
Where did the time go? I kinda feel like growing up in the 90s was the best time to be a kid. not even rose tinted glasses. it was the perfect mix of new tech cool shows and no woke.
