fun fact: most games do still have anti-piracy, they just dont make them like "you pirated you absolute piece of poo" and then jumpscares them, they actually make them like "hi, we think your game is pirated, if you think this is an error, restart" cuz legitimate owners may encounter these on accident

Also, it's way too easy for people to buy those games on accident, such as if they use a website like Amazon and buy second-hand. They didn't want a bad copy of the game, they just got scammed. They weren't the ones with bad intentions.
There is no purpose to deliberately scaring the user for being a victim of a scam. Just telling them the situation and what to do about it is sufficient.
Headliner Novinews had a problem where people who bought the game on sale got the anti piracy screen. Luckily it was nothing scary lol

In one case, an AP screen (Mario party ds), contrary to the Joey Perleoni memes, just does not load. In another case (SM64), it tells you that you are using a pirated copy and need to buy the legit one.

I thought of another idea, if you cheat or pirate then your put into special, hidden servers that have only Imposters/Crewmates so the game is unplayable or can’t end.
That's kinda like ninja kiwi made with btd6 if you hack in btd6 (infinite money hacks infinite health hacks) you can only play with other hackers and you can't play with normal players this also happens if you pirate the game I think but I'm not sure I like to call this "being put in a hackerpool"

The best anti-piracy thing I have seen was from one of the Spyro games. It tricked pirates into thinking that they cracked the game successfully but had a few bits of code that requested region data that shouldn't have received an answer. Because of the pirate's version, that request was answered which triggered the "this game was pirated" code. This resulted in the game being obnoxiously trifled with in quite a number of ways that made it damn near impossible to play while also acting as a type of demo for the playable game.

@@aikashiaika182 dunno if that's the one but it was the exact game as if you purchased it for the first world and the balloon to the 2nd had different dialogue reprimanding the pirate playing the game. From that point on it would be riddled with bugs, oddities not limited to loss of gravity and progress as well as other irritating effects that makes it borderline unplayable

as you can see most anti-piracy is actually harmless to the user and is usually there just to troll (and on some occasions actually break the game, like how Batman Arkham Asylum's Anti-Piracy was to block you from gliding, which makes the game unbeatable more or less).

to everyone watching at 6:07, this anti piracy screen is ACTUALLY REAL but instead of the game keeping playing after saying pirata, it crashes and you have to restart, the pirata part is supposed to replace a song that plays and as that is happening your game freezes then afterward it crashes. My concept for a Star Allies anti piracy screen was as follows:
Basically, regardless of how far you've progressed in the game, upon triggering the anti piracy for the first time, all players' health is immediately depleted, the Mage-Sisters show up, and the following dialogue ensues.
Francisca: I can't believe we gotta do this...
Zan Partizanne: We still have to do it, Francisca.
Flamberge: AAAAUUUGHHHHH!
(Zan then turns to face the player.)
Zan: Bonjam.
Zan: Yeah, I'm talking to you, the one playing this game.
Zan: I don't know if we've run into each other yet, but if we haven't...
Flamberge: We're the Three Mage-Sisters. I'm Flamberge, and over to my left are Francisca and Zan Partizanne.
Zan: Thank you, Flamberge, but you could've let me finish...
Francisca: So, it's come to our attention that your copy of Kirby Star Allies may be pirated.
Flamberge: YOU KNOW THAT'S A REALLY SERIOUS CRIME, RIGHT?!
(Zan turns to Flamberge.)

If I was ever to create a paid game I would make it something like this:
Something that works similar to Super Mario Bros for example, you know, you pass levels that get harder and harder with a boss fight at the end. Sooo I would make the Anti-piracy screen look more goofy, for example: (this is an Anti-piracy screen idea I just had) At the first boss fight the character and the boss start doing the Macarena and both put a pirate hat on, saying:
- Character: "WooHoo! I pirated a game!"
- Boss: "I wasted someone's hard work!"
- Character: "I am a pirate!"
- Boss: "I should probably go to jail, but I don't care!
- Character: "Cause I got a game for free!"
Then another character walks in and asks:
- "Who are you cosplaying as now?"
- The first character: (Pointing at the player) "Him"
Then a message pops up telling you that the game will be now unplayable unless you buy the official game and all your data will be saved (And I'd make it an actual feature where the data would actually save)

I am the creator of the crash bash anti piracy screen. I must ask though, why did you cut out the part where crash gets a cage around him with the other players in the arena free? If you were to cut out anything i think it would have been better if you removed the aku and uka argument, as there is only slight stuttering there and theres nothing really that scary about it.
Also would be great in future if you could add text in the video to tell people where you got the video from, because otherwise it looks like your just stealing other peoples videos without consent. Thanks.
