I also admire people who live off the land, but I can't help wonder what happens when they get older. The tree at 18:58 is a carob tree. The fruit of the carob tree is used to make guar gum, an emulsifier in ice cream. I have planted a few on my farm in southeastern Sicily where they grow in abundance.
Oh, thank you!! Very handy info. Thanks so much for watching 💓
Well done you. I hope the land brings you many years of happiness.
Barno is so loving and gentle, great companion. Just subscribed, You have an awesome attitude towards life, lovely accent and easy on the eyes. I was born on Madeira Island, left at 6 to Canada and never been back. Maybe one day I'll visit Madeira. Looking forward to your adventures.

Hi Lucy, next time you're in Maxmat or your local farmers suppliers (Cooperativa) buy yourself a Enxada (pronounced Enshada) It looks like a spade but at 90 degrees.
You'll find it very useful for making trenches etc on the land, much easier than a spade.
They're around 20 euros and you'll probably have to buy the handle separately.
Love the vids and good luck.
Dai, Monchique Algarve.
Thank you for the tip, I shall do just this! And thanks so much for watching 💖
