We live in the wild bush on the South coast of South African. Tons of wildlife, birds,and beautiful weather, its warm to hot all year round ,with great rainfall.Kimy and I have a short walk down to beach . Next trip out I'm planning on building an enclosure with tunnel access to the caravan for my two cats, I'll give them a few weeks in that before I give them freedom to roam. They have a catflap at home and don't wander far normally.

Its very impressive what you are doing. We took the leap touring lots of Europe in our motorhome and we thought perhaps Portugal would be a nice place to live in the winter that's how we first saw your videos. Anyway it was really impressive and brave how you went out to portugal on your own. Plus your video editing is impressive far above average. Well done I will keep tabs on your videos.

Hi Watching you is an education on being resourceful. We are planning on moving to Portugal from Australia in a couple of years. Just don't know whether to buy a house or buy land and possibly build. Would like to know how you tackle a permanent home on your land. What are you permitted to do without planning permission. I'm learning Portuguese - and I'm not fining it hard so hopefully will be fluent by the time we get there. All the best 💖

Find yourself a 1000 litre IBC tank (google it) and fill it during winter when your stream is flowing well, then you will have water all summer for irrigation!

Happy birthday Barney. You are right Lucy dogs deserve to have a great diet and you definitely give that to Barney. he is such a wonderfully happy dog, his gorgeous tail wagging so hard. Great to see your trees are still doing well. Are you able to put a hard stand down on your land so your van won’t get stuck in the mud, as I know you said you aren’t able to build on it? Glad you have had some rain to soften the soil for finishing your pond x

Belated happy birthday to Barney! I am driving down to my plot after Christmas with my own Springer. She had her rabies jab this week but the vet admitted he knew nothing about Leishmania. What did you do to protect Barney from the sand flies? I can't see that he is wearing a Scalibor collar? I think the risk lessens when the nights get colder but I have ordered some Vectra 3D spot-on online in the hope it will be sufficient.
