Of all the YT archery coaches I have discovered so far, you are the best. Focused, well explained (in a pleasant neutral sympathetic manner), no time wasted. Cool. ✌🏻🥳
Hi Tara, just want to tell you that you're my savior. I'm a beginner in archery with only 3 days of practicing barebow. I was having hard times grouping my arrows by using stringwalking. But then I tried your method here, and got 4/6 on the yellow from 12m of distance. Thank you very much!
Hi Tara our intrams are coming up and ive already learned so much from you! Even though Archery is just a try out there i really hope that I'll do great ive been practicing and its great! Ty so much your a life savior!
i started with gap shooting and since moved to string crawling but im glad i started with gap, it definitely helps. i even may incorporate gap into my string crawling
Hello Tara, Really thankful to have found your videos, its been a while now since I last practiced and, of course , have forgotten a lot and developed some bad habits which all combined for some really inconsistent shooting and v frustrating practice!! You explain everything so clearly and I can now look forward to ironing out those creases! Thank you 🙏
Great video I fully understand what you are saying, I could strike a match at 20 meters after having made some adjustments ie I am a lefthander the further back you went the aiming point was to the left and up by several inches , its an impressive shot as you are making fire.
Thanks to your tips and my several years as a top shooter with a catapult, some of the tips are the same, example having an anchor point being one, I had a weekend away and archery was an activety I booked, we only had 10 shots total I had never tried archery before and completed the robin hood challenge, I hit two bulls eyes and shot the apple in the centre that was standing on top of the target, so hoping to do this again in september as I have booked it again but at a different warners hotel, also going to give axe throwing a go cant wait.😅
Hi Tara, thanks for your great archery videos. Your explanation of gap shooting really helped me. Perhaps you could do one on the string walking method as well sometime. I'm still trying to decide which technique to use for bare bow. Paul.
Seems to be similar to how I started: I aimed and judged how much the arrow would drop at a given distance. Same as shooting a rifle. Coach Tara has some good advice. Will be back.
When I took a shot at a target from 54 yards, I almost needed to shoot volley. When the arrow curves in the air, even small adjustments can make big difference where it will land.
You're an ambidextrous shooter?! I can't even get a straight shot with my right 😂 Seriously though - thank you for these videos... they're wonderful ❤️ Do you have a recurve bow/brand you recommend?
Haha! Yes, I grew up shooting right hand as a left-eye dominant person. After 13 years, I tried the left eye to see if it helped - and I really liked it! LOL I like the Samick Sage as a beginner. I think I have a link in the description box that will get you to the bow! Have a great day!
It's going to be different for everyone. It's going to depend on your anchor position, bow weight/draw, etc. As long as you have a consistent anchor position, practice several rounds to see where you need to aim at your desired distances.
3 under sucks! Use the mediterranean draw, Target Archer!!! I have been doing this since 1965 and have shot all three disciplines. Forget all the goofballs! There is the high draw style of Howard Hill and English style of Horace Ford. We will call the place you wish to hit, the 'spot'. In the first style you raise and draw the bow simultaneously. The last 4-6 inches, you are drawing straight back. The protruding shaft of the arrow and the side of the bow form a 'V'. Place the 'spot' in that 'V' as you complete the draw. As you 'feel your anchor', cant the bow to the right (right handed shooters). Practice this (in drawing practice) by aiming at a spot on a wall and watching your arrow come into line as you cant the bow. In hunting and Field Archery it becomes natural to cant without too much attention on the shaft of the arrow. The English style as stated by Horace Ford is similar to modern target archery except there are no sights. Anchoring is similar and I have always found that I am only seeing the left half of the 'spot' because of the string. Pointing the tip of the arrow in the correct place isn't that much of a problem if you know the distance. Some people have their notebook and record the 'Gap' or 'aim-off' as I call it and that's perfectly alright in this style of shooting. I did this style in England where they start out at 50 and 60 yards and I never missed the target, except in practice. I shot my first deer when I was 16 YO using a Howard Hill longbow. I used the high draw style as I explained above. The deer was running full out and jumping an 8 ft. ditch when my arrow passed through his left shoulder blade, cut his spine and stopped in his right shoulder. This is definitely the style for hunting.
I actually shoot both! I'm right-handed, but left-eye dominant. Shot most of my career as a right shooter...then swapped over and really enjoy shooting left! It helps when I am making videos and need different angles for the sun LOL

Very much agree. New to archery and have watched many videos. The tips are not over explained and even for a newbie very easy to follow. Thank you.

TQVM TARA.
If you could teach how to aim and release the traditional bow on 145-meter long-range archery.
thx for the tips
Do you set your nocking point differently compared to shooting split finger, instinctive?
Thanks
Do I press Shift to Hold breath? And how do I zoom in ?
You can’t zoom in you gotta just aim carefully and shoot. If you miss it’s cause you suck.

Where do I point my arrow if my height is 5'1?

WOW!!!
Sage advice oh feathered one. Who is Lars Anderson?
Check him out on youtube! He is an amazing shot! You will be impressed! LOL
1:11 I know you weren’t shooting then or loaded and I know you know what your doing more than most of us but Iwoukd move the dog out of the way 😂😅
haha - yes, I moved him with that same thought! You will see he magically disappears from one shot to another LOL
You're so pretty Coach Tara. Thank you for sharing.
Oh thank you!

Wait - you shoot both right & left handed? Cool...
Now I'm confused. Lol Are you a Lefty or a Righty?

60 livres, i cant even put my arrow in the cercle, i aim the floor because my bow is to strong ! i just cant aim !!!
Then buy a arrow with half lbs (30 to 40 pound) to begin with
Anything left handed I watch
Great information 😁 Stunning Beauty 😍 you can be my coach anytime 💝😍 Thanks 👍
Come and challenge me in Bhutan using your bear bow versus my traditional bamboo bow to hit a target at a 140-meter distance.
Meters are for fairies. No matter how many YARDS away, she’ll still look way better than you bruh. You’re welcome for not having to type your comment in Japanese.
Gap shooting not work with 3d. If you shooting boar u need to aim the tree. Lol.
