I'm an experienced GB level 2 coach. I totally agree with all of the points you raised. That was really well presented and illustrated.
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
I'm an experienced archer and found this very useful as it's surprisingly easy to suddenly go wonky! Thank you!
Great to hear!
As an instructor of many years it still amazes me that everything Tara says 100% true, where ever you go. There's something natural about archery that people do instinctively and yet they also instinctively do some or all of these things incorrectly. Is some of it copying theatrical/movie archery that's done for show, that's my guess. Great video that covers all the gems of teaching a new starter.
You can tell someone is good at a thing when they do it well, you can tell someone is smart at what they do when they can break it down to you perfectly, good job using the camera angle.
Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate it!
I'm a starter into archery. Saw this video and my life changed! Thanks! Greetings from Nicaragua 🇳🇮
I've been shooting field with my 16 year old son for about six months now, and we're guilty of every one of these mistakes. After watching your video, talking to each other about our forms and putting it into practice, the difference is unbelievable. Thank you very much :)
Wow, thanks - comments like these make me excited about teaching others archery!
Mr.Foster here,on our second date I look my wife to dinner and then to an indoor archery range where she soundly thrashed me.that was 54 years ago.Loved your video and I subscribed. And I learned some great things Thanks.
Loved that archery was your first date with your wife of 54 years! Great story - especially that she beat you :) Thanks for sharing and thanks for subscribing! Hope to bring more quality videos to everyone!
One thing I learned was to draw and push push the bow forward at the same time as I setup for the shot.
I committed all these mistakes when I learnt archery in the very beginning! I really love this video, cause I now understand the ways to avoid these mistakes! You are my best coach!😊
I've been shooting for a
few years now. But always nice to see and remind myself of the basics. Thanks Tara for taking the time to make this video. I am sure it will help beginner archers immensely, even intermediate archers to some extent.
Thank you for watching!
Tyle czasu szukałem prostego i dobrego poradnika. Zanalazłem...bardzo mi się podoba...

I'm not a beginner but it's no harm to be reminded of the basics.
Thank you very much for this extremely educational video. Plus it looks great too! I'm going to learn archery from a horse on Sunday, so first picking up my archery skills from the ground is not an unnecessary luxury. Looking at your tips really makes me want to start shooting again. I am sure that your advice will help me improve by leaps and bounds. You're an inspiration!
Thank you very much Tara, I am a beginner & your explanations are very very relevant.

The most helpful video for beginners that I've seen. Thank you!

I just found your channel and subscribed. You have great information. I've been shooting a longbow for over 20 years. I had an accident 6 years ago where I broke my back. I am now going to have to re-learn to shoot, this time I'll have to switch over to shooting left handed so I can fix all my problems. Thank you for your hard work.
Excellent video! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Very educational video. It helped me a lot. Thank you so much.
I'm so glad it helped! Thanks for watching!

Glad you liked it!!
This was sooo informative and interesting! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
As a beginnwr archer at 81years[bucket goal], and having viewed many "how" techniques from many "TH-cam" experienced archers, this has got to be the MOST structured and comprehensive beginner tutorial presentation so far!! Give it a view, endorse it if you agree and encourage the beginner archer to review it as many times as is neccesary for continual improvemnt, success and enjoyment of the sport!
Thanks Tara , great presentation and advice well given , strange how even experienced archers can slip into basic errors , best wishes from the UK x
Glad it was helpful!
Liked and subscribed. So informative, I'm practically doing all these mistake except loading arrow. So gonna fix them all, thank you so much
Love your videos. Have not shot since i was a kid in camp. I now have grandkids and wanted to introduce them to archery and ended up reawakening a passion in myself. Your videos helped. Your awesome

Glad it was helpful!
Coach Tera, so glad to find your teaching. I agree with all the compliments from other viewers. Looking forward to see more production. I am 68 and picking up recurve again after 46 years.
I seems to shoot better without sight. The brain seems to tell me where to aim and it was right. I am sure you will talk about this one day.
You are an instinctive shooter! I grew up shooting sights with my olympic recurve bow - which is why I lean towards GAP shooting - gives me a sight LOL I can always make a video explaining your style though! Thanks for the idea!
seen several videos...by far the most useful......... raymond x
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for sharing! I will keep working on more - let me know if you have any video ideas!
This is gold! Glad I found this, just starting to take interest again. Haven’t shot since I was a teen. Great instruction 👏
Thank you!
Thank you!
coach tara i just wanted to thank you for your videos. more than half my arrows were going over the target until i saw one of your videos about finger placement wearing a glove. i believe that my glove was touching the nock before release. now either only one or no arrows go over the target. i'm glad i found you. thank you!!!
Wow! Love hearing this! Thanks for sharing! Happy Shooting!
Thank you iv been scouring through the internet and Facebook for days watching videos trying to figure out what I was dioing wrong I saved your video, the way you explained everything all the mistakes I was making I will be watching a couple more times and showing anyone who asks your video . Excellent Video Tara, especially the bow hand and anchor point info, it does take time for these points to become second nature, lovely background too, reminds me of Australia. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind words!
Very informative
Learning something new. I'm going to interest. Thank you teacher. I liked your class. Your ten point drive correctly very good. Salute
Glad it was helpful!
Great points here, as a beginner I grip too hard and first couple of lessons I got a blister from the top of the grip on my hand because of that! will try the looser grip for sure.
Thanks from Norway 🏹
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for that. A very helpful video!
Glad it was helpful!
Very informative. I never shoot a bow in my life and found your video here that will help me understand and avoid a lot of mistakes when practicing my first bow. Thanks
Wow! Thanks for the message - made my day as a coach!
Great tips, Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video Tara, love these tips!
💪🏹🎯🔥
Thank you!
Amazing!! You are an inspiration ✨💕
Thank you! Glad the videos are helpful!
The Olympic gold medal winning coach who taught my daughter reckoned the key to shoulder position was reaching towards the target with the bow arm. Mr Lee was Korean and used to say "Jodi muss reach always muss reach" she was a long way from a beginner being the number one for her age in the country, but it still applied. My other thought is get a finger tab on, because there is a risk of nerve damage to the fingertips, especially in young archers. I held Archery Australia level 2 and this was drummed into us on the coaches courses. I have no other issues and your explanations are nice and clear,s o good work. That basic set up with the low shoulder is so important in injury prevention.
Thank you Terra, I'm new to learning. That was good teaching.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tips, thanks!
:)
Thank you so much! I just got my first bow to start enjoying this hobby and your Video Is the best out there! I have not shot yet so I'll watch a couple more times before I start. Fantastic Teacher!

Glad it was helpful!
Been shooting for a couple of months and didn't know most of these haha. Super helpful!!
So glad it helped!
Very informative, as an OIF Veteran I'm brand new to archery.
Thank you, Coach !
2 days here in archery , finger placement wasn't explained to me but i noticed something was wrong in my shots , now i understand it .
the soft shot , that was VERY helpful for my understanding , also wasn't explained to me at all , but i understand now what i need to do . i might have made this properly few times but not understanding what i did correctly , and managed to get few 10 shot on 10 meters
and hello Tidus !
Glad it helped!
Thanks Teacher, good and very helpful class👍👍😊
Thank you! 😃
I wouldn't consider myself an expert in any way - but I have some little skill with archery - great to review the basics! Well done! Well presented. LOVED the Cameo with Titus!
Good tips.
Good Advice, it still makes me smile watching old films of Fred Bear the grandfather of modern archery, he did so many things wrong according to archers of today, full finger grip of the riser, not much if any follow through, but yet he made it work.
For your information Fred Bear was a right handed shooter who lost a finger on his right hand. He had to switch and become a left handed shooter. He also won a lot of championships, but most importantly she is teaching you target archery stance and form where Fred was a hunter there is a big difference
Suddenly my interest in archery increases 10 fold 😍
Really comprehensive, perfect explanation!
Glad it was helpful!
❤tq.nice explain
Great video Tara. I've always loved traditional archery but have not been able to practice my archery in many years. So I'm basically starting from scratch and appreciate the tips displayed in this video. I'll be looking at your other videos for more instruction and advice on how to enjoy my archery hobby.
Awesome! Welcome back. Let me know if you have any questions!
SAme here. I'm starting back at if after over 40 years.
Really helpful video - thank you so much. Clear, concise and to the point...s! Went to my first archery lesson last week in the UK and was the oldest female in the group by at least 20years! I don't have my own bow to practice but just watching this and practicing without a bow helped to reinforce what I had learned. Many thanks.
Glad it helped!
Thank you ❤

Best video so far. 👌
Wow, thanks!
Awesome video! I shoot competitive compound archery, but have a buddy that was needing a good tutorial on recurve. So, I have shared your video with him. Thank you for making this video for beginners. 👍 🏹
Thank you for sharing it with others! When I stopped hunting, I stopped shooting compound. Yesterday, I had the chance to shoot one at the range! I forgot how fun it is, and now I want to buy a compound! LOL Have a great day!
@@ArcheryHouse - You're welcome! Oh, you are absolutely correct! Compound is fun and a bit addictive as well! I am looking forward to warmer weather so we can get back to shooting 3D here. Thanks again for sharing and all the best!!
Thank you!!!!!!! God bless you!!!!
Any time!
Nice video.
Thanks for the visit
Excellent instruction, Titus is a good boy!
He really is the best!
Thank you. You saved me bunch of frustrations. I’m no longer hitting my elbow with my bow string.
Great news! Happy it helped!
Very informative video for beginner archers.
you are marvelous, very brilliant, thanks for the info,
Glad it was helpful!
good job and smart woman thanks so much 🤠
Great videa, as a leaner myself and reason im here is because ive not started my course yet so for about two months been constantly watching vids on form ect. I'm happy to say im doing everything youre saying. Only thing ive not done and this now makes sense to why my arrows go to the left as a right handed archer, i use Huntington arrows and never realised why one fletcher is white. Now i know. Thankyou so much as this will really help my already good bunching. Definitely a follow from a new and hopefully competitive archer, even at 52 i cant see why not.
Thanks for the nice words! Have fun on the range - archery is a great sport for any age!
Thank you for this. Me and my daughter are going to start archery together.
Wonderful! I started with my dad, as well! Great family sport!
@@ArcheryHouse that’s great to hear. We just finished watching most of your videos. You are an excellent teacher by the way. We are both looking forward to your next TH-cam video and are now eager to get going with it.
