It smells a little too synthetic nowadays they’ve replaced a lot of ingredients in it now it kinda has a bathroom cleaner smell

Don't like the opening but the midd and dry down i like a lot. Fantastic on my skin for the hot and humid weather. 8 to 10h on my skin. Still get compliment but more with ladys in there 30's and up. I'm 44 so its ok😊

I wear whatever I want when I want. Of course there is always an appropriate fragrance for every season and occasion, but I don't care if some people feel it smells "outdated". So what.
A timeless cool and modern fougere from the 90s. The intense version is also great and i find it more suitable for summer because of that coconut and its sweeter and has ambroxan and projects very well.
I used cool water as my fresh-out-the-shower Scent for a while and for that purpose it’s lovely. I even got a bit of a soothing vibe from it along with the freshness
Hi Erica. Since you brought up a few fragances that have been around since the 80's and are still sold today, I would like to mention Calvin Klein's Obsession for men. This was the very first fragrance that I ever purchased. I was around 16 or 17 at the time. Wore it and along with Drakkar Noir and one called Bijan for a few years. It' been more than 30 years since I've had them. Have around 100 fragrances now.
Cool water today has been reformulated many times since the 1994-late 90s era and it is trash compared to this earlier generation version.. don't know if CW from 94-late90s is different than 88-94 version(s) tho
Cool Water is to this day one of my most complemented fragrances out of my over-250-bottle collection. I also own an older batch of Cool Water INTENSE. I did give that one to my 9 year old son though. It lasts on him practically all day. Great review as always
Fresh aquatic scents are pretty timeless really, it was one of my first fragrances when I was a kid my mum loved it and bought it for me. Got me many compliments
20 - 15 dollars cool water cologne smell way better than some $500 fancy colognes..

I've had much more expensive designer fragrances. One of my personal favorites is Dior Homme Original EdT. To be honest, I prefer my Cool Water EdT over all of the fragrances I've tried so far. To me, it just smells like I came out of the shower and used a decent/nicer body wash. Longevity is excellent on my skin too, I get 12+ hours easily. I only use 3 sprays and I'll smell fresh all day in the office. An excellent, affordable and timeless fresh fragrance for men of 25 years and older.
I used this as an at home fragrance. I went through a whole bottle. If i rebuy it would be the intense version
I wore green irish tweed today it is definitely similar to cool water but it's nicer quality more natural smell, you've already done a side by side of both
This was my signature scent for about 7 years, mainly because it was extremely hot in where I lived, and also because nothing expensive was readily available there. I agree with you on this. It is different, yet likable, and a little synthetic but not in an obvious way.
Note: It doesn't perform well at all , not once I got a whiff of it after 30 minutes of over spraying it.

Its a classic for a reason. The original edt waaaay better than all the other flankers.

The intense flanker is better. That one’s pretty good and smells modern guys! My teenager and his friends love it… and it’s an EDP, perfect for summer
Do ladies really think men wear fragrance primarily for them? It can be nice to get compliments, but it's tertiary. I wear Cool Water a few times a year for the nostalgia. I wear GIT much more and find it significantly different.
And she always thinks that she can speak for all ladys

Aspen by Coty smells similar to CW but at half the price (super cheap).

Cool water is a step up from using Axe or lynx.
It's cheap & cheerful,that's about it,I personally wouldn't be caught dead wearing it.
I prefer CW Wave and Intense

Erica, Green Irish Tweed is a very high quality classic masterpiece well worth the price at discounters.. Cool Water is a bargain bin knockoff that doesn't come close to it in quality or longevity. Please do a standalone review of GIT. I am curious to see how women of your generation react to it.

I get a sense of nasal… like somebody who talks constantly through their stuffy nose. Which probably makes it hard for them to smell anything at all.
I wore it today. It reminds me a bit of Green Irish Tweed, which I also own.

Sorry Erica but everyone in our local fragrance group finds it dated, artificial, cheap, and obnoxious throwaway shower gel. Good for introverts who want to repel people. No idea how this synthetic shower gel bomb still sells. Would also throw Green Irish Tweed in the bin... sorry. I say this even as a massive Creed fanboy. GIT/CW had a nice long run, but the scent profile is old. Not historical-classic old, just old n' nasty old. Would rather have a bottle of Azzaro for the hilarious retro 70's funky thrill over this collar-popper.
