Cool water was my signature scent for years, growing up. I received so many compliments through the years. I have Nautica Voyage as well, but Cool water is so much better. I never ever received a compliment when wearing Voyage, so I doubt I will replenish that bottle.
I love cool water and could bathe in it 😄. But seriously, it's my go-to for staying fresh in warm temperatures and immediately gives me a boost of confidence. IMO, If you enjoy the fragrance and it makes you feel comfortable in your skin, you'll attract the right people 💪😉

I own both and see a place for both of them. Cool Water is more of an everyday quick reach fragrance that I use in the summer but it doesn’t smell anything like like Green Irish Tweed, which is far superior to Cool Water.
They smell exactly the same or very very close. So, it makes no sense to spend $220 on Green Irish Tweed, when you can spend $16 on Cool Water, since so similar.
For me there are no similarities. I’ve the impression that some people are eagerly seeking cheaper alternatives for expensive niche fragrances and that it’s their desire to find such an alternatif makes them believe they ‘re smelling a similar scent, rather than that the cheaper smell is actually similar. That doesn’t mean that cheaper smells can’t smell good but I’m always returning tot the niche fragrances when I start comparing. They are so much more refined, natural smelling and unique.
You need to try cool water intense, that's the best in my opinion. Lovely coconut lime pina colada type scent very tropical smelling and delicious, it's a gourmand coconut scent. Go with the intense...unless you wanna try the parfum, the parfum is similar to dior sauvage
My son now is rocking cool water... He's 10 and it's his first fragrance. I wore cool water years ago before I was even into fragrances. At the time it was a very popular scent but times have definitely changed. At $26 in Australia 🦘🦘 it's fine... Enjoy the warm weather. Melbourne Australia the temperature is now cold with snow on the mountains

Loved Cool Water growing up. Got GIT recently in a sample size and it is sooooooo similar it's like being in bizarro world hearing people say they arent. It's just an elevated cool water. It's gorgeous. But unless you're frugal or rich I wouldn't bother with it when Cool Water is so cheap. Both excellent in my book.

GIT smeels similar to the old cool water. The cool water we have today got reformulated. Because of EU regulations banning oakmoss. I heard the flanker Cool water reborn goes back into that GIT direction but i havent tried it yet. I have a vintage bottle of Cool water and its an aromatic fresh green fragrance, not synthetic-fresh like the cool water we have today.
I think there is opening notes similar to green irish tweed with cool water but green irish tweed has way more complexities and layers to it and you can smell the quality it smells amazing compared to cool water which smells synthetically cheap

Baffles me how Rasasi's Egra never got any hype on YT. 😕 Released about the same time as Armaf's Tres Nuit, the Armaf got all the attention and Egra was totally ghosted. 😄 Despite smelling far closer to GIT than both Tres Nuit and Cool Water! CW obviously far more recognizable, but with clear differences. I do have the vintage splash and it's a joy to wear sometimes. But it's a distinctive scent and not as close to GIT or Egra when smelled side-by-side. What marvellous weather down there on the beach Erica! Hope you're having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
If you say they don’t smell similar, they definitely do. I’m not trolling you honestly, whatever perfumes you say are bad are somehow amazing & vice versa. Just my personal observation.
Lattafa do one for about the same price or sometimes cheaper than CW called Raghba. Smells similar but performance on the Lattafa is superior. It'll last you all day at the beach. There's a few in Lattafa's line up for some inexplicable reason called Raghba and they're all very different so don't get the wrong one!
Had a bottle of Cool Water back in the 90’s. Was a popular scent back then. I’ve yet to get another bottle but eventually will. Have you tried 24 Gold by Scentstory? It’s an oldie but very good 👍 reminds one of Bulgari Black (the tire shaped bottle) 👍 and lasts 12 hours easily!
Its very synthetic especially on the opening and I just don't enjoy that on myself, cheap deodoranted bar soap up my nose. Never had a chance to smell a 90s bottle tbf. Have known people who wear it and the dry down second hand on them is nice. I keep my bottle of Davidoff Cool Water Into The Ocean, which was a limited edition and the only one I can handle, the opening is still a tad synthetic but it settles down rather fast , sour citrus blast top , touch of mint and sandalwood mid , salty sea water on the base. It's atleast a little unique and can play somewhat sexy in the right environment. Then again I bought the bottle 10 years ago and have used less than half lol

Yeah, you need to try the Lancaster vintage. Those early Cool Water editions, for me, are better than Irish Tweed. The last editions, unfortunately, got severely reformulated and are absolute crap.
CW is my father's signature, GIT is mine. First of all, CW doesn't smell the same today as it used to! That is the reason why my father no longer wears it. They are similar, so it's no coincidence that my father and I wear similar fragerances (similar body odor, harmonizes very well with this kind of perfume). But they are in no way the same. The names already describe very well in which direction it goes: beach and water vs. meadows and morning dew - both fresh in their individual way.

Aquatics never ever have beast mode performances- but they do generally smell great . Tommy Hilfiger is the No 1 Freshy in my opinion, gives me 90s Nostalgia also ❤️
A large percentage of the population have extremely poor taste in general and it doesn't surprise me they think these smell alike. Also, people that are poor try to convince themselves that something cheap is just as good as the expensive option so they can cope with it.
They smell nothing alike.. not even close. When cool water came out it was a beast back in 88.. If you want a great cool water get the coolest edition cool water, cool water intense or the Parfum version. All really good..your welcome!

95% of the time, cheap fragrances smell cheap. Better to spend $1000 on 3 great fragrances rather than on dozens of cheapies trying to find that one gem. Ask me how I know.

I will overlook the Heart pains of watching that over spray to the Nothingness! heres a simple argument is they are so similar, then why do you see both in Peoples collections??? ones cheap and smells cheap it is missing those Facets that make Niche, NICHE!! how ever I would not say this today about Creeds offerings! they have shrunk their Bottles Inflated their Price and dropped their Quality to the point Armaf has made Fragrances when Creed was Creed now making their fragrances better then they do!!!! hold onto that Bottle! because that company Died a long time ago!!!!

Lattafa do one for about the same price or sometimes cheaper than CW called Raghba.
Smells similar but performance on the Lattafa is superior. It'll last you all day at the beach.
There's a few in Lattafa's line up for some inexplicable reason called Raghba and they're all very different so don't get the wrong one!
