    Omg I love my speedy 30. I waited for a special one I have the 2008 sprouse flowers. I wear it all the time. For my big bags I use pouches or my B30 insert. I wear it as a clutch or hand held. My favorite all weather and all day bag. I still get compliments

    How I justify paying for my 26 or $30,000 Bags is I don’t wanna play the game I don’t like their stuff enough to play the game. I just love the Bags so I have no problem paying for the bags. Simple

    Great video! I totally agree with you about purchasing Hermes quota bags on the resale market in the 20K+ range. I never thought I would do it but before my wonderful SA left Hermes, she communicated to me, my ultimate wishlist handbag (Box Birkin) would be impossible for her to fulfill because this style is so rare. I closed my eyes and created a guilt free fund and purchased from Fashionphile on sale.

      That’s a very smart thing to do!! Esp for a box birkin-I bet it’s a beauty 😍😍

    I agree with a lot of these. My only differing opinion is that in most stores it ends up being cheaper to go brand new resale vs playing the game with pre-spend. My store spend is 3-5x per bag offer, doesn't make sense to do the game unless you really love the items. Most people don't, they just buy items to buy the bag (and eventually will run out of things to buy or feel like they have had enough, closets get packed with hundreds/thousads of "pre-spend" items). Then on top of it, most of the "pre-spend" items reduce value by close to 50% on resale. The first bag spend is typically lower than second third etc. I have bought from both resale market and the store -- my preference is resale because you get exactly what you want no matter how rare as long as you've got the funds vs waiting for inventory, seasonal colors, and to hit spend etc in the store. However, I definitely can see the other perspective -- pre-spending over time helps space out payments and make Hermes more accessible in general because you can go at your own spending pace vs having to drop big $$ on a whim. But obvi this is income dependent, a lot of folks buying resale are very wealthy and don't think much of 30k-50k or sometimes even 100k+ when it comes to exotics/rarer bags

      Ahh okay this makes a lot of sense, and I completely understand your POV. And it’s very true-I’ve heard a lot of people say that they’ve “run out” of pre-spend items that they’re interested in buying, so that would make buying a bag from the store pretty tough! Very valid points all around!

    I agree, I sold my speedy bags, purchasing just a basic canvas tote- non designer to use every day. Might look into purchasing a designer wallet though that I can turn into a clutch or crossbody bag.

    • @LilyShops
      @LilyShops  10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      That’s a great idea! And you could even look at some WOC styles that the different designers carry-they’re often a great price and super easy to convert 😊!

    Yes!! I completely agree with your Speedy assessment. I inherited my mom's from the early 90s. I can't remember if it was a 30 or a 35, but strike number 1..it was too big for me. Strike two.. Yes! No strap! No other way to hold it other than handheld (and this is coming from a crossbody girl, I was wayyyy out of my element). I went back to her and said uh, mom.. thanks, but I can't use this, I need a strap or something. I need the Speedy B. She flat out admitted that's why she gave it to me; she couldn't use it ether!

    My Speedy 20 was the first luxury bag tha I purchased from the boutique in 2002. I had and used that bag over the course of 17 years, It was a great bag because rain and snow didn't faze it, it was light weight, and I could fit a ton in there. Yes, the handles developed a patina, but I loved that. t finally developed a hole and I moved it on. I have now moved onto the Speedy Bandolier 20's because I need the cross body style because of back issues. As far as Chanel, I was done with them when they started the massive price increases and nothing they have done has made me change my mind.. And as far as Hermes, would I pay the mark-up on the resale market? Nope, I don't have to have a brand new, pristine bag. I'll buy it in a very good condition and be happy to have it..

    just add an organiser and a strap to speedy and you’ll find it one of the most handy bags in your collection.

    u are wrong about hourly rate of workers. If a bag is made in 40 hours this is 1 week. The workers in France that produce bags for sure do not earn 4000 eur/week. So the labour cost is much lower

    • @tolikfox007
      @tolikfox007 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Exactly no way it is 100/ hr. More like 25 max

      🤯$25/hour for the people who make Hermes bags-omg! I had no idea that’s what the pay was!

    • @HeidiBartol
      @HeidiBartol 3 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      @ that would mean 4000 eur/month which is not a bad salary. you suggested they would make 16.000/month which is a CEO salary:)

    I agree with some of these. Actually for me, it’s Chanel rtw that I think is a mess. It looks so cheap. Not the tweed jackets but all the tops, dresses that looks like H&M put a Chanel logo on it. For the Speedy, to me it’s VERY functional bag. But like any other bag, the bigger it is, the more of a deep hole it becomes, but a size 25, it absolutely perfection with the strap. Oh and last thing I don’t agree with, it’s Birkin and Kelly on the resale market, I’ve got 5 offers from the boutique and I totally stopped going from them there. I didn’t get any bag without spending at LEAST 2:1. Now, I go resale and not only I save money at the end but I also get exactly what I want. I was thinking like you before, I was hoping they will offer me some bags without me stupidly spending over 20-25K but nope, it didn’t happen. Plus, you can only imagine the amount of Hermès items that I own after all that, it’s ridiculous.😂 So I feel when you just start getting bags, okay but at one point, we say screw it and we just go for the bags we want. I use everything I’ve got from Hermès, I like it, but I’m not a store, I can go with less. Lol Now I just casually shop at Hermès when I travel and I don’t think about getting offers. I’m enjoying it way more.

      This makes total sense! Once you’ve gotten everything else you want to get from Hermes, then I think the secondhand market is a great option! And it must be very freeing now to be able to buy whatever you want without having “pre-spend” lurking in the back of your mind 🤗

    🥴 As much as I LOVE big bags, I couldn't manage the Speedy on my wrist for hours on end. It seems more like a gym bag than an actual purse to me.

    Its crazy to even spend 10k on a bag. Hermes is overhyped last few years. Their bags are very simple and easy to craft. I personally prefer bottega. Also handmade and great quality and more my style

    Agree with so many of these sentiments! The speedy 😅 - I have the speedy 30 and never use it. Also agree that skincare is a scam! There are so many great products you can buy just at Target 😂. And 💯 agree about the upcharge on resell B & K! Would much rather have the “pre spend” items!

    Totally agree! Not spicy at all! I agree with resale market on B and K…no way! Purchase in store only! I am guilty of mongram luggage but don’t use in the airport. More for overnights or 2 day trips. For the record they are not new, I just use because I have them 🤓 I’m not into them anymore. Oh well 😊 Great video 😍

    I really need to stop feeding the urge to comment after every segment haha, but smart move! About 5 years ago, my aunt brought a LV monogram suitcase with her on vacation to Italy. I think everyone with a brain knows how this sentence will end.. But yes, stolen! Right in the airport! it Never came back to her.

    I did not like the Virginie time of Chanel AT ALL. The muddy colors, the silhouettes, the shoes, the bags. Most of it looked frumpy to me. Excited for the Blazy time, but Karl will still be King. The LV luggage, yes, agree. If you have a lifestyle and strategy to keep it safe, like you are rich with bodyguards and PJs, okay, otherwise, no. I did celebrate a TH-camr getting a carry on in Paris, but commented about ways to keep it safe. Travel is hard enough without that worry.

      💯 Yess a thousand percent! So relieved that Chanel will be entering a new era! And let’s just say I’m not at the PJ/body guard stage in life… yet 🙃
