If you play the "Hermes game", you are a very simple person. Understand the Birkin Bag came into existence after the CEO witnessed a woman carrying a picknick basket as a handbag. That was the inspiration. Women make the bag, not the other way around.

I've never really experienced this, however i've definitely stepped into a store and been fully ignored, or been told if your coming here next time, figure out what you want( which is true i probably should). Personally i'm not obsessed with buying bags, not that i cant afford it, i just dont think i want to be spending more than 6.5+k on a bag, because i just think its a little ridiculous for me, which i guess for some sales SA, they think its because you cant afford it, so they will most definitely be treating you a little differently. I think as Dior is becoming almost like the next chennal where things are so so so expensive and majority of it are all in the top 9k, I definitely feel like they are judging you alot and it just gives off that vibe as soon as you walk in. Sometimes i really just want to walk in and see whats new and stuff, and that sometimes i feel forced to buy stuff. I agree, there will almost always be another ready to help and is so helpful and kind too. Unfortunately a lot of bags here in where i live are mostly ranging in the 6.5+ group, which is fine, as long as i really really love it, i guess i wouldn't mind completely, but how much your willing to spend plays an big factor in not only the way they see you but treat you as well. I do live in a pretty big city as well, so i find it surprising that big high brands like gucci, and Lv, ysl, etc they are all majority pretty nice, however for some reason here Dior sales associates are mostly the group that are on the poorer experience side unfortunately.

I started shopping at my local boutique without any expectation of getting any quota bags, just buying things I love and will use for myself. I started with some basic jewelry, scarves, and perfume then slowly moved to ready to wear, all the while without asking for any bags. After splurging on a jacket that cost around AUD10k and a pair of shoes for over AUD3k in one visit (i.e. after 6 months of shopping and spending around AUD25k in total), my SA asked me whether I liked any bags (e.g. mini Lindy, Constance etc) but I asked her if I could get a kelly 25. Even though she told me it could be a long wait of 1 to 2 years, the perfect k25 was offered to me 3 months later i.e. after shopping for 9 months with the SA and spending almost AUD50k in total (not including the bag). I don't see my Hermes shopping experience as a "journey" in any way. I was just enjoying the brand during my shopping months. I think SAs can sense whether one genuinely loves the brand or just buys things to score a bag. I now have a very good relationship with my SA and I am so happy that she tried her best to offer me a quota bag sooner than I expected :)

If I have to pre spend the amount of the bag, why not just buy the bag?p

I understand you, but you’re thinking from a practicality aspect as a consumer. From a designer’s point of view, this bag is artfully done, and will likely appeal more to a whole different demographic than the Jodi bag, tho anyone can enjoy it. The fact that the handle is not just a painted metal, it’s brass, and the purposefully minimal features such as the one button closure, no actual bottom to the bag, is meant to hold very little to maintain the integrity of its minimalistic perfection, this answering your question about how items could fall out. As a consumer, I’m certainly not saying it’s a cost-efficient design, but definitely a classic work of are that I’m sure they will stop producing in time, like all works of are, making the price make that much more sense in the eyes of the brand and its designer. I really don’t believe in that. I refuse to shop in my local Hermes store (don’t like them at all) I travel alot and I shop Hermes when I travel. I just went to NY inquired about a Birkin and got it , simple and done ! I will be back for sure just to shop at that store , amazing service and simple . I also love the Paris store
