The artist who never sing a song twice the same, or 500 times and end up 500 different versions, sometimes you wonder which one is better, but all are great versions for me. This one is a kick ass punchy version. Long live Bob Dylan. This man is a genius. Thanks for the upload ❤
This is my favourite live version of this mid 60's song by Dylan at his poptastic best. It's beautifully phrased and sung and joyous to listen to. I saw Dylan at Earls Court London in '81. This brings those wonderful memories flooding back.
I don't know if I saw this particular show but I did attend the tour. I can't believe I found this version. I just searched "Bob Dylan + I want you + 1981. Thank you for posting!
This is fabulous but I still give the 1966 track (the last thing recorded for Blonde on Blonde) the edge. Here his vocal is all on one level, when it moves on the single.
There's a couple of soundboards from this leg of tour that al cooper was on. Unfortunately, this is missing all those great in between fiils from the album which he DID do at the jersey show I saw.
The year was definitely 1981 and all the shows were the same during the "Shot of Love" tour. I particularly remember this version of Dylan singing "I want you" and I remember how exceptionally powerful his voice was that evening at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.

This is the best version ever of I want you! I wish the studio version was recorded like this.
You need to lay down the crack pipe! Dylan's best version was for unplugged!
Nah 1976 and 78 were way better
Nah, this is the best one.

You are so lucky! I was born in 1990 and only got to see dylan twice! One was at Davidson college in NC and in Winston Salem nc
Love this version!! :) x
First time I saw Dylan live was in Nov ‘81 - at The Summit in Houston.
Great version......
Whoever had a copy of this in 1981 got lucky there cuz just because that's just the way it is ✌️
