It’s such a testament to Dylan as a songwriter and performer that he could take this sweet, hopeful 1966 song about the anticipation of new love and rework it into a devastating dirge for lost love nearly thirty years later without changing a word.
I get nothing but the original message - the cracked bells and washed out horns, blow into his face with scorn, but it’s not that way, he wasn’t born to lose her. You could play this at a wedding.
Once I understood him, I found that I couldn't live without Bob Dylan! I just love him! His soul and his music have brought me through some of the most horrific and the best times of my life. Bob's voice, guitar and harmonica caress my heart and soul way, way down into the deepest and tiniest fissures, holes and cracks. He understands human nature so well. A good, dear friend got me interested in Bob's recordings. For that, among other things, I am eternally grateful! Thank you, Mr. Dylan and thank you, Tony!

I'll be 56 years old this December and ever since my career building teacher in my sophomore class turned me onto him and that same year I received the infamous album I couldn't get off my turn table and 28 concerts later you discover another side of his unplugged album. I want you is top notch and only Dylan and his iconic voice make this great song even better. I don't know if that's a slide guitar or what but OMG it has you hooked then pow Dylan comes in with his Raspy voice that I so wish I had to put the icing on this great song. Awesome slideshow btw many pics I have never seen. Heading up to Duluth Minnesota in a week or two to see his old home for a spiritual getaway. Thanks for posting..
Brilliant version by Bob Dylan. Love from a fan of yours Adam. Take care of yourself Bob Dylan. I really enjoy your great music videos. Have a great new year Bob Dylan.

Maybe the best version ever. There is only one person on this planet who can do it this way. Thank you Bob and mr.tambourine - like so many times before.
1995 was an awesome year for Bob. I think this is my favorite version as well. I love the rawness in his voice here... I love the pictures as well. I love seeing him smile. ❤️

I love Bob Dylan, We are blessed to have him, I ask myself, with sadness, how many potential Bob Dylan had their lives wiped out in Hitler's death camps, may they all rest in eternal peace.
Margaret, yes,how many potential Victims of War Crimes in Nazi's Death Camps,Gods Chosen Ones, who would have contributed with their gifts and humanism to the World. I would also add, SMI, serious mentally ill, my son, being one, are usually very intelligent, artistically gifted people. So many are neglected, no treatment available,or undertreated.SMI have been neglected for decades.

To me, this is just one of many, continent banter songs between John Lennon and Bob. Bob's answer to the Beatles repetitive songwriting appeal to teenagers, about desperate and possessive love is just a song, "I want You." Bobs version vs. I Want To Hold Your Hand.
Bob’s outtakes, are always the best. Real, singing from his heart and soul.
Beautiful.

Mr. Zimmerman is definitely an expedicionary musician.
What a great version
"please tell him (Mr.Tambourine) thanks a lot"...
He actually copied Sophie B Hawkins’ version, which she sang at Bobfest in 1992.
Sophie B Hawkens’ performance at Bobfest was one of greatest performances of a Dylan song ever.
I love you, so much, I want you, I have you in my heart and soul forever ♾️ and ever, thank you for your music 🎶 Bob Dylan, Elizabeth

THIS VERSION IS AMAZING
Bobby..I want you too.
I love you still and always will.
This is a great performance. Brings a completely different energy from the original studio version but probably just as good.
I Want You The guilty undertaker sighs
The lonesome organ grinder cries
The silver saxophones say I should refuse you
The cracked bells and washed-out horns
Blow into my face with scorn, but it's
Not that way, I wasn't born to lose you
I want you
I want you
I want you, so bad
Honey, I want you
The drunken politician leaps
Upon the street where mothers weep
And the saviors who are fast asleep, they wait for you
And I wait for them to interrupt
Me drinkin' from my broken cup
And ask me to open up the gate for you
I want you
I want you
Yes I want you, so bad
Honey, I want you
How all my fathers, they've gone down
True love they've been without it
But all their daughters put me down
'Cause I don't think about it
Well, I return to the Queen of Spades
And talk with my chambermaid
She knows that I'm not afraid to look at her
She is good to me and there's
Nothing she doesn't see
She knows where I'd like to be but it doesn't
Matter
I want you
I want you
Yes I want you, so bad
Honey, I want you
Now your dancing child with his Chinese suit he
Spoke to me, I took his flute
No, I wasn't very cute to him, was I?
But I did it, because he lied and
Because he took you for a ride
And because time was on his side and
Because I
Want you
I want you
Yes I want you, so bad
Honey, I want you

super!
What an incredible song writer. Mr. Robert Zimmerman. Just think of all of the songs that other people have recorded that Bob Dylan has written.
Thanks Bob,
Thanks mr tambourine...
My Boba kitty kicked the bucket last week. I will miss him, but a fish cloud with God's face on the front came in my valley as he was on his last leg.
