This is the duel scene between Tenjou Utena and Sanjouin Chigusa, the major antagonist of the Revolutionary Girl Utena SEGA Saturn game: "Revolutionary Girl Utena ~Someday My Revolution Will Come~ Four Days in Ohtori". The song that plays during it is called "Herzen's Head"; english translation by Ayu Ohseki, EJ, and Verthandi! The song's connection to the plot is, for once, undeniable. I love how it directly connects to the game's story as a prelude to the Black Rose arc.
I unfortunately had to cut the scene of Utena walking up the stairs to Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku and her pulling out the sword out of Anthy because youtube kept copyright claiming it; but all new original footage from the game is in this video! I also could not find a translation anywhere for the new dialogue in the cutscene (the game fan translation did not subtitle them).
Please note the low quality is the original resolution of the game files. Attempting to upscale them ruined the detail (I tried).

I really like Chigusa's character ! Wish she got an actual ending within the game instead of just having one final CG, but I understand they already had to fit in 6 character routes, a normal ending, a 'perfect' ending and 3 bad endings into one game, so anything more than that would've been overkill.

@FreakLilBitchAntonia It's the exact same as the perfect ending story-wise, you just get a Chigusa badge instead of the Wakaba one you get for completing the perfect ending.
If I remember things right , you need the student council to all be in the 10-25% nobility range , and Utena around 70-90% ? Something like that.
I loved this show and the silly game and your description just reminded me of the dismal state the black rose arc has from the fanbase's perception which is sad, since it binds and brings everything else to life including the narrative.
I totally agree! The black rose arc is really important as a form of foreshadowing, as well as developing every major character in connection to the black rose duelists and the themes of the narrative as you said. It also made me fall in love with the show due to the shift in atmosphere (showing how traumatic the duels can be).
Did people not like the black rose arc?? It has some of the most interesting parts tho :0
Lowkey Chigusa scares me so badly
I think she's supposed to! I read a rough translation of the game guide, and she's meant to give off that mysterious , cold, and calculating vibe
...until you talk to her, and she turns out to be an emotional mess, like every Utena character.
Something that isn't entirely canon , but still adds dimension to the character is the Chigusa nobility slash mechanic .
Basically, she gossips about the MC and thus lowers her reputation in the eyes of the student council, thus lowering their nobility which makes them easier to manipulate. If your interactions with her are friendly (not talking about having a prince, not asserting yourself as someone weak in need of protection ....) , she hesitates and doesn't lower your stats (later on she stops hesitating , but positive interactions still lower the amount of nobility taken). Shows she's not all bad !
