One of the most important jobs on earth! I was an unchurched kid saved at 16 thanks to a local youth ministry. 43 now and still with the Lord. 🙂

Our church has an awesome children’s ministry. This year our church hosted a VBS that had over 400 kids attended. Many are neighborhood kids. We just built a nice playground with a large outdoor shelter when homeschooling or pre school moms can gather and have outdoor MOPS meetings.
Wow, this makes me so grateful for my church and our children’s ministries....

Me too! My kiddos are never just a number (which is used for emergencies to flash on the screen btw, for those that may not know), we take the time to connect with each child. Our kids ministry isn't perfect, but we love or littles.

I taught youth group for seven years and the common problem I had and other youth workers I taught to had was when the pastor finished their sermon early although their were occasional days when the pastor went over and it always happened to be when the kids were hyper.

It's not really in the budget but the Pastor has tvs the size of my car in his office 😂
I’ve been to Rod Parsley’s church in Columbus, and they assign your kid a number. This totally reminds me of that church. I seriously can’t do a mega church anymore. People race to the children’s area because once they fill up, they won’t accept your kid into kids class. You are stuck bring them into the main sanctuary where they complain the whole time.
There is a legitimate reason for this. When I went to a bigger church, if your kid was having a problem they would flash the number on the screen so you could come.
They don’t want to violate privacy by flashing “Suzy Smith” so everyone at church knows your kid had a medical or behavioral issue, or that you didn’t pack enough diapers 😂
Also, it’s a security thing, so that if you have an ex spouse that’s not allowed to pick up the child, etc.

I worked at a Christian school for many years, on the Kindergarten playground a teacher’s son was yelling and bossing some kids around. He was being an Egyptian and the other kids were the enslaved children of Israel.
So on point with a goldfish crackers! I had four kids that couldn’t eat goldfish crackers cause of gluten lol they do have to wear an allergy sticker 😂

I loved volunteering for children's ministry, especially the nursery, BECAUSE I didn't like following the rules in the sanctuary. It's easier for me to care for the crying kid than sit stiff and pretty during a whole sermon that may or may not grab my attention while using my phone as my Bible/Note Taker/Fidget Tool or fake singing/ignoring the singing portion before the sermon where I HAVE to stand or be scolded for not actively participating in something I didn't like.
More freedom in the nursery without making others feel uncomfortable when I don't participate exactly like them.

I can’t really relate since my church rotates pastors monthly. Some of them also go to Church camp with the kids and they talk to the children regularly. Everyone knows pretty much everyone and (especially the pastors) helps out with anything and everything they can. ^^
