I'm feeling the same. A potentially great wheel hampered by poor communication. Even great new features or important fixes, they are keeping suppressed, which feels like suicide. I'm only finding out things through word of mouth or my retailer.
This video is a banger! Thank you so much for that! I still want one in its complete form though! Thank you for your excellent review! That was a wicked slow mo shot of the slide btw! Peace my man!
I have to agree on all this. I don't normally preorder anything, but I took a chance on the V14 because people told me inmotion support is good. I only got a few short rides before a hall sensor error put a stop to that. Dealing with support was ok at first, but when it came time to ship out a new motor communication collapsed. I'm not sure if it's on the way or not. It's a well designed wheel that's been let down by the factory and follow up service. I'm still hoping to muddle through the issues and get the wheel I want. About that stuttering issue, I get it pretty bad about the time when the hall sensor warning is flagged. It might be related. I wonder if the hall sensors haven't been positioned properly, or they shift over time.
@@lindensack Yeah, it got sorted out eventually. Part of the frustration was going via a small dealer who didn't have the leverage with Inmotion, so in future I would their wheels through someone who has a solid relationship with them. After this I also got a BMS issue that required a replacement battery pack. That was a bit slow, but the Inmotion support staff were much better. They spent hours doing remote diagnosis and firmware fixes. I think they're aware of the criticism and are trying to turn it around. Time will tell.
Well said, bro. I appreciate your honesty. The initial batch wheels are exactly as you describe. On the next batches, the suspension works much better, no sticking, but the little occasional vibration in "S" mode is still there.
Yh when I had got my v14 I send it back cause they said it was the 50s but it wasn’t. So anyway yh it was vibrating like crazy too when it was just standing still. That right there will just fry your motherboard
The cost of the v14 is $5400 up in Sydney,Australia. No communication from the company with support will stop people from spending a fortune on these wheels.
In a perfect world, the V14 would replace the stanchions with a hydraulic shock making this wheel dual-suspension with dual tuning zones for optimal on-road/off-road transitions. Stanchions are simply unserious design... better than KS's roller-sliders but both are still effectively features planned to become obsolescent. I'll keep buying (and fixing) used wheels until these companies get more serious about their long-term viability and repair-ability. My impression is that we'll see a quality VESC wheel before we see a quality 20-year lifespan EUC.
Yikes. I keep going back and forth on completing my V14 pre-order. This makes me want to wait to see what’s released this year. I saw two EUC riders yesterday and wanted to join them 😊.
Man my biggest complaint about my v12 is the firmware, its not very predictable and does some weird stuff sometimes. Randomly wont connect to my phone, wierd tilts like the imu is confused..
I was coming back to it , when I fixed it , she became a whole new wheel - Its choice for romps and ripping hard on the trail. In the 16 form factor she is my favorite wheeeeel.
👍 I really want to like this wheel, but with Inmotion falling short on the comms side, I will probably go Begode extreme or Veteran Patton. I see that Ewheels has batch 5 upgraded Patton with 50s cells. Cheers
The v13, the best wheel ever made in my opinion, was a business failure. This was the first wheel by their new leadership and their priorities are showing.
Unrelated to the video, but you have insane forward ankle flexibility (notice it when you ride seated) - have you always had that? Would make riding seated a hell of a lot easier XD.
I like mine, it's a late stage v14, gonna put some grizzlas on it and hope for the best... Might have bought the wheel of a company that is singing its swan song.
my patton has been in disrepair since i got it :/ one issue after another... and currently more issues... just madness :/ All wheels will have problems... The v14 is the only truly NEXT gen feeling wheel in the 16inch platform The 4000 watt motor comes across loud and clear
@@johnnygovroom I was so interested the in smart battery control, power, easy repair, being able to remove batteries quickly and easily... To eventually commercially fly with itv! But then if you get horrible range... What's the point of having all the technology...
