It's terrifying how many people praise this person because they don't see the harm that's being done. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard a vet tell people the dangers of dog parks, I could own the world. This video and many of these comments prove it.

I saw a guy on youtube take his service dog to the dog park on the weekend for her "day off/play time to be a dog", and was like "Oh that's nice!" then my dog was attacked again. and again. And finally he was almost killed. I am so lucky he is alive. He's a big dog too. dog parks are a horrible place. No one should go there.

With dog attack videos cropping up these days, it's getting easier for them to make people realize how dangerous they are. Especially when you have videos like this of a person who has no clue how dangerous his dog is and thinks his behavior is okay.
A vet told me that vets say dog parks are good for three things (1) viruses, (2) parasites, and (3) lawsuits. I still take my 18 month old golden retriever to a couple of dog parks in the city, but I've been cutting back bc there are just too many uncontrolled dogs.
Bringing your aggressive, intact dog to a dog park is not a good idea. He just runs up on other dogs to bully them. Intimidating and terrifying all the dogs in the area in the not the purpose of a dog park. Bad human.
Right? Honestly I’d be pretty upset if someone let their dog mount mine, especially if it was intact, but then I don’t go to dog parks because of things like this.
Not aggressive just domineering, never call a dog aggressive because 99% of the time they aren’t it’s just a reaction to fear, what this dog is doing is not aggression but dominating behaviour it’s very important to understand that the word aggressive to do with dogs is about as sensitive as saying you hate someone, it’s an extremely strong word to use.
Hackles don't just mean excitement. They also mean nerves and intimidation, and are mainly used with intimidation. My girls will get their hackles up when playing sometimes, but not nearly as much as when they're trying to assert themselves with posturing, or when they're very nervous and/or getting bad signals from other dogs. Other dogs I've worked with/met, it's mainly intimidation and goes away once they feel comfortable again. Mounting is also an escalating, dominating behavior. It isn't "inviting to play". And with an intact male like Ronin, it is very much him just wanting to breed, which is not okay. Dogs might get on each other's backs to play, but not up the back end like that.
I specifically watch for the slightest sign of my girl’s hackles starting to rise, because she’s reactive & it’s the quickest way to tell if she can self-regulate, or if I need to calm her down before she gets too riled up. She plays rough with her friends, so I use the “break” command when they get too hyped up, even though they’re playing. Excitement in play can turn into a scuffle before you know it.
@@AbsoluteLeeNot good point, you know when all of a sudden the play gets too much. They’re still playing, but the tension is so high that anything can snap it. Hackles are what I watch for on my one dog now to tell me if I can let her around people working on the house or not. If she feels threatened enough before she ever meets them to put her hackles up, I know she’s not going to behave the way I need her to and she gets put up. I’m working on it meanwhile so that I hopefully won’t have to worry about it, but it’s a great indicator for now.
Yeah this is something that confused me because my dog will only get her hackles up when she’s in “guard mode” of our property, I’ve never seen it when she’s excited
You should watch for other signs along with hackles. Ears are half mast which 99% of the time means playful/showing to be a non threat. ALSO the dog did a lip flick which hints to excitement and playfulness along with 0 eye contact. That dog was certainly in play mode. Watch his other videos and you will understand. Hackles aren't always a good thing obviously, BUT he can see all the other signs and clearly points them out before the other dogs even get in the park...
Ronin is a beautiful dog and seems to be very protective to his pack. I love that! However he is too dominant towards other dogs. Look at his shoulder when approaching others, trying to intimidate them! Im a pit mom and understand the frustrations how some people portrait my babies and the breed. Although I understand that pits are very powerful and also recognize ( still disagree though) their fear/concerns. I allow my dogs to defend themselves but never ignored their aggressions towards other dogs from the first day in the dog park! Let’s be courteous and respectful to others, ALL dogs deserve to be safe and happy! And remember, we humans don’t deserve dogs 😏
Unification there's too many Miss identification and they don't even change them if they find out it wasn't actually a pitbull artificially raises up numbers for pitbulls and aggression and whatnot it also doesn't help when people get a dog and don't train it right
I was thinking the same thing wathcing this. His dog seems to be the instigator and aggressor in a lot of these videos and situations. Ronin's recall was really bad when he was being agressive towards the puppy. If you have to physically grab your dog for them to listen to you then they are not trained well.
So when it's your dog it's "dominant/playful" behavior even if the other pup is uncomfortable, but when it's another dog and yours is uncomfortable it's the dog onwer's fault for not "controlling thier dog", got it :/ Edit to add, they are all such beautiful doggos, and it's nice to see you make an effort to understand them and direct them into better behavior ❤
dogs can show dominant behaviour without fighting, he does not care if a dog has dominant behaviour towards his tog, he just dont wanna a dominant agressive dog fighting with his dog.
completely agree, hes quite the bully and his owner lets it slide.. no wonder why ronin gets into so many scuffles... recall your dog if you see other dogs being assholes, them them both cool off instead of letting your dog instigate... imo ronin starts most of the fights owner is just so caught up in clout chasing and babying his dog he cant see what he needs to correct, my shepherd used to do that a lot, i immediately put him in his place and showed him how to be a respectful pup and maintaining boundaries to stranger dogs.

The owner has agreed its bad and has been working on correcting it, it’s gotten better 👍 Ronin isn’t aggressive, but his pushy behavior can lead to other dogs being aggressive..he typically backs away from fights if he can and tries to de escalate situations, but his pushy behavior needed worked on which the owner has done which included reinforcing the recall training so Ronin listens better (which you can see in the video he included a clip from a bit later showing Ronin now responding to recall)
@@testerwulf3357 its good to see and know that the owner has acknowledged it. though i still feel the owner lets Ronin get away with more than he should just to keep his content going.... i mean all his channel is, is Ronin getting into scuffles, he can do a lot better and maybe go into a training aspect with his dogs, instead of making it look like all his dog does is get into scuffles. i mean he has one of the smartest dog breeds and the highest energy breeds, show ronin doing some cool training like place or maybe even some scent work and stuff thatll be cool, but all i ever see is him taking him to a park and he gets into some altercation with another dog.. it gets tiring to see.

I'm no expert, but I grew up with and I had a dog for 14 years (and looked after other dogs too in that time) and at best, my gut gives me very mixed feelings about this video, the owner and the dog itself. I would be far from happy if I was on a stroll through a park and this dog bounded towards my dog with this very pushy attitude...along with all the little snarls, nips and bullying. Where I come (back in the day) the overwhelming vast majority of dogs over many years would approach my gentle Labrador with a very playful, friendly attitude and they would always have a great time playing (said dogs had good-natured sensible owners), however I would not tolerate a large, lacking-in-training dog like this snapping/nipping at my dog's neck and bullying her - it happened once to my dog with a big German Shepherd who bit a chunk out of her fur above her tail - after bullying a few other dogs - and it promptly got my boot up it's ass and a warning to its clown of an owner to get it on a leash if they could not train it. I was at boiling point as my dog had been bitten and was really scared, but the wannabe bullying mutt got the message after letting out a big yelp after being introduced to my steel toe-capped boot. I've never been able tolerate out of control, showy bullies or mindless dog-owners who try to shrug-off their dog's bad behaviour as somehow being 'natural' and not-a-big-deal. For me this owner's style of video along with all the smart-ass text that keeps popping up, for me, is nothing but a smoke-and-mirrors mechanism to distract from his lax, in-denial attitude and his dog's lack of training and bullying nature.
@@Optimus18 For real! i once was like this guy, in the beginning of my dog training era i thought i knew so much. but in reality this guy barely knows the basics. he knows ONLY body language which there's so much more to it behaviorally. this guys cockiness of only knowing the "basics" is going to get his dog hurt or another dog. and he's giving dog owners bad advice. there's reasons to why these dogs correct ronin and why he gets into so many scuffles. behaviorally. you cant just look at a dogs body language and be like oh. ok this means this, no. he's going off of stereotypical behaviors. if he ACTUALLY knew about behaviors and social ques he'd be like oh damn my dog needs better training. yes there's been the few actual dominant dogs but half the time most of the dogs are playing and ronin is just pent up, uptight, and a big bully. he needs to dig deeper into why those dogs are doing what they're doing and not just being like omg, this dog is staring at my dog he's being super dominant when that's not the case. he needs to do more research and actually dig deeper into the dog world if he wants to create content that wont kill his or someone else's damn dog eventually.
That poodle mix is a puppy, most likely why he isn't fixed. I don't see anything wrong he is doing and at that age they learn boundaries and communication when other dogs correct them. I also know that younger (especially intact pups) are often bullied by older male dogs. Your dog knew he was young and intact and saw him as a threat, he is the one that needed correction.
It's funny how you don't think your dogs are the problem when it is your dogs causing the dogs to react to your dogs, and by you going to the dog park it makes it even worse you should never go to the dog park, any responsible dog owner would never go there as it's waiting for a disaster to strike
I think you have it the wrong way around. Dogs are pack animals and in their natural state they live in a hierarchical structure and that is perfectly natural for them. One of the best reasons to go to a dog park is to see your dog interact with other dogs. Since dogs don't speak, they have their own way of communicating and interacting with each other. Some dogs are taken from their mother too early and so have not learnt the proper protocols when meeting other dogs of varying status. These videos give great insights into the "language" of the dog world. The occasional growl, snarl or scuffle is not really a big deal. It's just a way for the dogs to establish or demonstrate their position in the local hierarchy. Both you and your dog can benefit from learning some of the nuances of dog behaviour and interactions. It's rare to see a full on fight break out but of course if that does happen then both the owners should get involved to discipline their own dogs so that they understand that the owners are not happy with that behaviour from their dog.

@@PeteH0121 yes there are structures in a dog setting but its about RESPECT and how to respect other dogs boundaries, ronin has absolutely none. dogs can be too much and can be too pushy and can be overly dominant, you dont want your dog to constantly get into scuffles because some dogs WILL NOT hold back especially when pushed to their limits, its YOU as their owner and their guardian to protect them and teach them what is acceptable in a high energy setting. Ronin lacks those boundaries and cant seem to respect other dogs especially ones he does not know, that's why owners need to be educated on what breed they get and get familiar with how genetics of said breed works. these dogs ronin has overpowered give clear signals of hey youre getting too roudy please go away, notice how most dogs seem to be avoidant towards him, lack playing with him yet like all dogs will still greet, but once they see how ronin postures, and acts they leave and then ronin pushes his way into the groups. showing everyone hey im the big guy here i want the control. hes a complete bully. That puppy that came up in this video was unsure and learning how to socialize and ronin wanted control and took advantage of how submissive she was (also play bows can be something call and displacement behavior, what that is is basically a hey! im super nervoud but im going to do this because i dont want a fight because im scared! notice how when she did that and ronin started chasing she immediately ran away and tried to get away.. she came back was still showing clear signs of uncertainty) . thats when you need to immediately grab your dog and let him cool off or better yet if you notice those signs (which when educated enough unlike ronins owner, you can tell before your dog is about to do something because they give clear telltail signs of when its going to happen: Call your damn dog back and prevent a fight or scaring the fuck out of a puppy that young which can and may cause behavioral issues in the long run with other dogs) , Ronin is always in a complete state of overstimulation and wants to get his way, you as a dog owner are supposed to correct those behaviors. I train dogs for a living and im ok with dog parks but i have clear CLEAR boundaries of what my dogs are supposed to do, one huge red flag is letting ronin bark and growl at the fence towards those dogs, when a dog enters a park i always recall my shepherd and get him into a "place" so he stays there so the dogs entering can have a slightly calmer setting so nothing would cause overstimulation that could result in a fight then i give him his release and let him greet said dogs. you NEED to keep your dogs corrected its not other dogs jobs to do that, some dogs are also just complete assholes and want to fight, some dogs LIVE and LOVE fighting, you cant just be like oh theyre dogs theyll handle it. no, thats how you get dogs hurt and killed.

@@rtxbmn385 Well I do agree with your comment about the entrance/exit from the park. Particularly dogs in a pack, but probably all dogs, should be leashed if there are other dogs nearby with which the owners are not familiar, because many dogs are in a state of hightened excitement at the prospect of getting into the park and that fact can attract unwanted attention. I still think that the occasional scuffle is nothing to worry about. Most of them are 50/50 scenarios and obviously one of the dogs is going to have to back down or else both of them need to be kept apart. I am always in favour of letting dogs work their sociability muscles wherever possible - and safe.
Half of this is you not having total control over your own dog. Before you judge others control and their dogs, you should judge yourself. This is why dog parks are crap places for dogs. Every single person in this has more learning to do, including the poster.
Thank you thank you! I hate when an overly excitable dog is described as either protective, curious, dominant, or playful is frustrating. That dog is not properly socialized to be around large groups of dogs and that excitability can actually cause negative reactions by other dogs! I never take my smaller dog off his leash unlike my other dog, until he calms himself, and he works down his energy level. Otherwise they won't respect or respond to proper commands or can cause a fight to occur. It seems like this owner is justifying bad behaviors as showing dominance when it's actually just bad behavior and training!
Ronin would be asked to leave our dog park for his aggressive behavior. We don’t allow dogs that need constant corrections and intimidate other dogs. Not impressed.

So many years watching Cesar Milan I only learned a couple of things , I feel just watching a couple of your videos I’ve learned so much in dog behavior and communication. This POV is amazing for us dog owners .

I grew up watching Ceaser and loved him...now looking back, Ceaser has a really over the top agressive training style. There's a difference between being a leader to your dog vs being so dominant it causes them to emotionally shut down. His viewpoints on "owner being alpha" was debunked since the experiment he bases his training on was done on wolves...not domesticated dogs. Not to mention he has physically abused animals, in public, on multiple occasions. Should I bring up the Shadow incident? Everyone can have thier own opinions but I can't stand behind a trainer that chokes, kicks, and holds dogs down to prove a point to them. Ceaser was a crappy dog trainer who got handed a show. There's WAY better trainers to follow after. And WAY better methods than the abusive ones he uses.
Ive always like Victoria Stilwell. She's been my favorite dog trainer since day one that I still watch her shows today. She's gentle yet affirmative and let's the owners do the work unless the dog really needs help controlling they're dogs. Ceaser has become very full of himself and I don't like the way he trains vs how he used to back then.
@@aircandoDominance theory which Cesar uses is based on one 1930's study: which was done with wolves, not dogs. Modern behavioural studies found verbal praise & reward based training , which Victoria Stilwell uses, to be far more effective . Cesar consistently gets fear based aggression bites that require medical attention. Victoria has never been bitten , in 20 years of training every breed & issue. Play bites are a different thing before anyone does the bites are normal. Play bites dont break the skin or leave you needing stitches.
In my opinion it’s your dog that brought that energy in the park. You can tell the way you let him in the gates. It’s your dog that brings the attitude.

Not really. He's quite dominant and controlling. Good for a malinois but not generally good. I walk 5-8 dogs in pack walks daily and I would not accept this behavior and if this dog encountered my pack and did any of these behaviors it would be an issue. Notice how his head is constantly going over the back of the neck of other dogs, a very rude, dominant social behavior. Even after the cane Corso puppy shows submission he still wants to dominate it. Not good.

Exactly. I mean in a few minutes of video Ronin: herds, possessively guards, controls space, pins, growls, mouths necks of submissive puppies, humps, chases down multiple dogs and puts his head over the back of the neck of other dogs (one of the rudest dominant behaviors worse than humping). I walk packs of dogs daily and his behavior would be something I wouldn't tolerate for a second. I've worked with dominant Malinois in the past and they are not easy dogs in the slightest. I don't see a single stern correction or any real disagreement from the owner. Just excuses.

Nature documentaries showcase it very often, especially in primates, though it happens in all kinds of animals. Bullying is not a unique action only humans do. It's something many have evolved to do, for all kinds of reasons.
Personally I would never bring any of my 6 dogs to a dog park . While working for a vet I have seen dogs that were attacked at the park , one miniature schnauzer had his throat crushed by a german shepherd . Not worth the risk .

Because nothing big has happened I think, he’s fairly good at pulling ronin away before anything major happens! Getting your dog to socialize with other dogs and make friends ALWAYS has risks no matter where you go..doggy daycares have their fair share of fights for example, but usually they’re minor and they can split them up

I see you like to spin things in favour of your dog. It doesn’t have the best of manners at a dog park, comes on too strong. If it was at its own home, maybe different but he is not in charge of the world and should be more laid back, more receptive rather then assertive all the time and the fact that his recall isn’t great just adds to it all.
I never mind it when my dog is doing appropriate corrections when it comes to himself and other dogs as dogs should be able to stand up for themselves but a dog park is not the place to put this in to practice. dog parks are supposed to be neutral zones since no one dog owns that territory. as a rule of thumb always correct mounting behaviour when it comes to other dogs and even among your own dogs. some dogs see it as a display of dominance and may bite and others may see it as a playful action but you still shouldnt take that chance. sometimes allowing dogs to work things out is great and does work wonderfully but more often than not it makes dogs fear others when not done appropriately. My charlie doesnt go near dog fights at parks because i taught him from a young age that we do not want to hang around that kind of energy. When he would try to dominate other dogs he would get corrected since that isnt a behaviour we want coming from any dog since it can lead to a fight...again not the kind of energy we want to attract. I also grab him when a dog is showing signs of fear and distract him because for the last time...not the kind of energy we want to attract. he also backs away from the gate and allows for other dogs to enter but then checks in with me as if he is asking if its ok to go near the newcomers. if the dogs are the right energy i tell him to go play but if they arent I leash him up and head out. If my charlie met ronin and was allowed to run up on dogs in the same manner you can almost bet a fight would of happened. its important to teach your dogs about the kind of energy you want to attract by exposing them to dogs of different temperments and perfecting their recall before exposing them to these dogs.
I would never take my dog to a dog park, ever. Too many dog owners are like too many parents. They allow their dogs to run wild, creating very dangerous situations. Sadly, too many dogs lose their lives in dog parks.
Ur dog is absolutely adorable but if ur training him to be a certain way you should keep him out of the dog park until his recall is on point because he’s just confused and has mixed emotions because he doesn’t have the proper training. Beautiful pup

I took my 95 pound Bernese Mountain Dog to the park last week. There was a small group of dogs at the gate barking but one particularly caught my attention. His hackles were raised, leaned forward challenging the gate, teeth bared with drool, tail high un-waving, and refused to back up from the gate like the others. This dog ,(a husky) was showing every sign of being aggressive. His owner yells "He's just saying how do you do." And I thought, "No...thats not what this is." The owner didn't even attempt to get his dog under control so we could enter. I wasnt about to enter where the owner wasn't going to even attempt to control his dog. The owner was scarier than the dog! 😅 I made the decision not to enter. Just as I was about to leave, a woman in the small area with her 2 dogs had witnessed the whole thing. She graciously invited us over to play with her two dogs. It was fun watching 2 small dogs "gang up" on my big boy. I'm so glad I've been watching Ronin videos at the park. It's helping me learn dog body language, spot "negligent" owners, and make safer choices to keep my guy safe. Thank you for sharing these videos! ❤

Dogs dont have packs. Packs are made up for a breeding pair and their offspring. Dogs arent usually related when made part of the family. His dogs just a bully. I just had a bully client that now plays well with dogs. I can help him out. 😂
My dog got bit by a Milinois type of dog. She is a submissive neutred dog who tend to stick close to us when she is uncomfortable with other dogs. She knows when a dog doesn't want to play with her or doesn't like her. It happened when my dad was walking her alone in that Park we are used to go since we got her at 2 month old. I recently met with the owner and there was no excuses as I confronted her about it. She even implied that my dad was a liard by saying that her dog was free and didn't escape her hold and, it was almost as if it was my dad's fault that my dog bleed that day because he released her to play with her friends. And she warned me that my dad could have been bitten when he hit hzr dog with the leash in a defensive reflex...and I told her that she should never let her agressive dog unleashed ever again. The same day, in the evening walk, I saw her with the dog freed. And she deliberatedly provoqued me. And, knowing mine she must have fleed to my dad when the other starded to attack her.
Dogs like that eventually get kicked out because **it will hit the fan and trouble will happen. Very sad that u have to avoid the park. Probably won’t be long before you can return.
I'm sorry you went throught that, some people are so irreponsible, if she knew her dog was aggressive to the point of telling you he might have bit your dad and not only your dog, trhen she should know to keep him on a leash and with a muzzle on. It's people like this that get dogs killed by authorities because of their incompetence as owners. You should let other people at the park know, at least they can be aware so they don't go through the same.
The part with the puppy cane corso and Ronin is very relatable. My male 2 year old husky responds to puppies similar with dominant/play like behavior. Mine has gone too far at times and it is something we are working on every time we go to the park. Just seeing your boy doing similar behavior helps me to see it’s not just my dog lol New subscriber after this 🤗
The issue is that it's okay for his dog to be dominant on any dog at a park, but it's not okay for someone else's dog to be dominant on him. The dog is probably intact too. No good. The corso didnt accept authority, was forced.
These dogs aren't "acting crazy" they are socializing, if things get heated the owner will recall, this is why you need a good recall and this owner sure does have one!
I agree with @daisydex12, Ronin is a great dog, but yea, as he's grown, he's become too dominant. Which is normal since his whole family is in the park, but his energy can create fights. Example: If the other dog who corrected the Cane Corso pup and then corrected Ronin wasn't that friendly, that would have been a fight. Do take care though and it's a good thing you keep an eye on him, as always, be careful with other alpha dogs around..Especially at dog parks.
I’d like to see that Malinois try that behavior with my Maremma . She knows voice commands, no hands on the collar needed. She’s loved by all the dogge’s at the local dog park
I have a Belgian Malinois and she is very protective of her Pitbull and Chihuahua siblings. She is a great dog and it amazes me how smart and easy to train she is.

Some dogs are friendlier and more gentle than others, I guess? I'm not sure how strong of a personality she has or if "naivety" is a trait dogs can even have but yeah. Maybe she's shy or something, doesn't know her own strength

I once had my once in a lifetime dog, Honey. I adored her. A goberian, husky and golden retriever. Pregnant when i pulked her off the street. 11 puppies. The best mom ever. But the thing i loved the most was hiw she corrected other dogs. A friend had a young dalmatian mix who she couldn't get trained to not jump up on oeople or dogs. I said bring her over. Give her a minute, yes just one minute with Honey. I tokd the wiman do not react to what you gear she wont hurt her. The dog jumped up on Honey and Honey spun around making the most god awful sounds abd snarling at the dog. The dog stepped back and sat down, calm. I said thatll be $50! The woman was stunned. I just laughed. Nothing a better teacher than a mama dog whose had 11 puppies! 😍
Ha ha. It's a shame most people don't understand the difference between a correction and a fight. That's half the reason there are so many rude, yappy dogs around. Too many owners over protect their dogs and make them nervous of every interaction. Obviously it helps if the owner can read the warning signs of a genuinely aggressive dog - which make up only a very small percentage of the total. You can often get as much of a clue by looking at the owners as by watching their dogs.
Whether they are our furry kids or human kids, letting them learn how to socialize at the park without direction or interference is important. We supervise just to be certain they are safe and to correct bad behavior. And enjoy watching them have fun!
This is NOT the channel you should be taking advice from…so many times this person has excused bad behavior and let their dog bully other dogs and plays it off as “dominance/playful” this dog needs more training before going to another dog park.. it’s not safe for the dog or the other dogs…it’s a horrible “accident” waiting to happen sadly…. Bottom line without going through the entire video. Always assess the situation before you entire the dog park. Few people should have children. Fewer people should own dogs. Look at the dogs. Look at their behaviors. Look at the humans. See what they are doing and how they react? See if you can identify what dogs belong to what humans. Turn around and immediately leave if you don’t see what you like. Dog parks are not the best experience often times for humans and dogs. Too many shitty dog owners.
I love the way you can read their subtle language as well as the dogs can. So many dog owners innocently misread canine behaviour, which must make things confusing for their dogs.
Agreed. I think it's what happens when people act like their dogs are just kids in furry coats. They aren't and if you respect them and learn to read them, you'll have a much happier relationship with them and they with you.

It seems like most people see this as bad, even though the dogs are socializing, I don't see any huge issue with the way he treats his dogs. This person seems to have a great understanding of the reaction and socialization of these dogs and knows when to call them off, it is explained in every video.
I have a question for you all.... not like, JUST this dude in particular. Im a lil tipsy. A lil depressed about it all. A shot in the dark. My Shepard/Husky was attacked viciously. He has a permanent neck injury from it. The dog almost broke his neck. He was in training as my ptsd and diabetic alert dog. He still does what he needs to, but unfortunately this happened 3 months before his test. He now is extremely standoffish with dogs. And by that- I think he he has fear agression. He's excited to see them from a distance. Interested and looks back at me, tail lifted, slightly wagging, ectetc. He gets too close to them though, immediately starts barking. He lifts his paws, swipes the air. the whole shpeal. I make him stop and heel, and as soon as he's done bluffing the dog, they're friends- IF the owners don't run away. How can i... approach getting him more comfortable with dogs by him. He wont turn his back on any dog. at all. He has to have his butt to me. It's been 3 years now. I've gotten him to a point where he can have meetings with dogs after i ask the owner to just stop and have a small chat for his benefit. I explain that i KNOW it's weird, explain his situation, his strange bluffing thing he does to see if the other dog will come at him, and after that they're best friends. He gets along famously with dogs i've vetted- older dogs (he respects them), little dogs (they're the boss, he will submit to them) but anything bigger than a corgi he... does his thing. I have been trying to hard. I trained him myself. He was perfect before, and now all i do is love him and make him as happy as i can... but he is so lonely... so bored... i wish i could walk him in a park, but all the yahoos here keep their dogs off leash in a field with no recall... and im so afriad of a dog running up to him when i'm not looking or picking up a poop. I feel like im spinning in circles every ten steps just to make sure no one come walking towards us with their dog off leash on trails and such. I want him, and others to be safe... and oh my god... him in a car- if there's a dog on the street, and the window is closed... my back doors have claw marks all over them. He goes kujo. He's started that in the last two years... is there hope? (And how did you guys work on recal, his is gREAT1?)
How does “no” mean yes to you??? No IS a correction! No is one of the first words you teach a dog, it tells them to stop what they’re doing which IS a correction, it doesn’t tell them to keep going (aka “no” does not make them think their behavior is ok)
I've had a pack of three dogs - they stick up for each other. Two dogs or more is a pack, you need to read and control the pack. It doesn't matter what size the dogs are either. Dogs are excellent at reading body language in a nanosecond, seems us humans need to catch up. Thank you for your informative videos. Love dogs ❤🐶🐕

I never take my dogs to dog parks because I'm scared that they will get in fights with dominant dogs, I also don't want the dominant dog or my dog to get hurt.My dogs are also massive and will be very aggressive/protective if a dog is messing with me or their friend. I usually take them on walks around the block or take them swimming, they are great pyrnees dogs.
I’m not too familiar with all dog behavior so seeing this video is helpful! Also once I was with my friend and her dog and we were helping her dad unpack some things at a rental house and a neighbor’s dog came down the driveway (fine, this dog and my friends dog have gotten along fine for years) and was sniffing my mom’s dog whom I brought with me at the time (she was a puppy) and as soon as the neighbor dog raised her lips at the puppy my friends dog started barking and pushed the neighbor dog all the way back up the driveway. They really do protect eachother when they care for one another! My mom’s dog has since repaid the favor by guarding friends dog whenever anything happens (friends dog is fairly timid)
You shouldn’t bring a dog so assertive to the dog park, it’s a great way to start a fight, the second he meets another dog like him who doesn’t back down or listen to its owner like yours, there will be blood and a potential lawsuit.
One of the dogs "corrected" him and he seemed to back off, instead of attack I'm not sure how different the scenarios are but it seems like he backed down there so why not if another dog was more dominant than him

My Chihuahua and I were walking out the door of our apartment, and a much bigger pitty mix, did the neck mouthing, to my chi. as he stepped out of the door. The neighbor just happened to be walking the dog right by our door and she was next to the wall/door. My Chi got away from her ran back into the house and started to cuss her the big dog out from the safety of our apartment. He was totally fine as she just mouthed him. Freaked me out, and he is no longer allowed to walk out of the house ahead of me. They now walk her the other way so the two don't cross. He is very old and completely blind, so it was quite terrifying to him. Thank you for explaining what this is.

It's terrifying how many people praise this person because they don't see the harm that's being done. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard a vet tell people the dangers of dog parks, I could own the world. This video and many of these comments prove it.

I saw a guy on youtube take his service dog to the dog park on the weekend for her "day off/play time to be a dog", and was like "Oh that's nice!" then my dog was attacked again. and again. And finally he was almost killed. I am so lucky he is alive. He's a big dog too. dog parks are a horrible place. No one should go there.

With dog attack videos cropping up these days, it's getting easier for them to make people realize how dangerous they are. Especially when you have videos like this of a person who has no clue how dangerous his dog is and thinks his behavior is okay.
A vet told me that vets say dog parks are good for three things (1) viruses, (2) parasites, and (3) lawsuits. I still take my 18 month old golden retriever to a couple of dog parks in the city, but I've been cutting back bc there are just too many uncontrolled dogs.

Not aggressive just domineering, never call a dog aggressive because 99% of the time they aren’t it’s just a reaction to fear, what this dog is doing is not aggression but dominating behaviour it’s very important to understand that the word aggressive to do with dogs is about as sensitive as saying you hate someone, it’s an extremely strong word to use.
Hackles don't just mean excitement. They also mean nerves and intimidation, and are mainly used with intimidation. My girls will get their hackles up when playing sometimes, but not nearly as much as when they're trying to assert themselves with posturing, or when they're very nervous and/or getting bad signals from other dogs. Other dogs I've worked with/met, it's mainly intimidation and goes away once they feel comfortable again.
Mounting is also an escalating, dominating behavior. It isn't "inviting to play". And with an intact male like Ronin, it is very much him just wanting to breed, which is not okay. Dogs might get on each other's backs to play, but not up the back end like that.
Yeah I don’t take hackles lightly. I never take it as excitement.
I specifically watch for the slightest sign of my girl’s hackles starting to rise, because she’s reactive & it’s the quickest way to tell if she can self-regulate, or if I need to calm her down before she gets too riled up. She plays rough with her friends, so I use the “break” command when they get too hyped up, even though they’re playing. Excitement in play can turn into a scuffle before you know it.
@@AbsoluteLeeNot good point, you know when all of a sudden the play gets too much. They’re still playing, but the tension is so high that anything can snap it.
Hackles are what I watch for on my one dog now to tell me if I can let her around people working on the house or not. If she feels threatened enough before she ever meets them to put her hackles up, I know she’s not going to behave the way I need her to and she gets put up. I’m working on it meanwhile so that I hopefully won’t have to worry about it, but it’s a great indicator for now.
Yeah this is something that confused me because my dog will only get her hackles up when she’s in “guard mode” of our property, I’ve never seen it when she’s excited
You should watch for other signs along with hackles. Ears are half mast which 99% of the time means playful/showing to be a non threat. ALSO the dog did a lip flick which hints to excitement and playfulness along with 0 eye contact. That dog was certainly in play mode. Watch his other videos and you will understand. Hackles aren't always a good thing obviously, BUT he can see all the other signs and clearly points them out before the other dogs even get in the park...
Ronin is a beautiful dog and seems to be very protective to his pack. I love that! However he is too dominant towards other dogs. Look at his shoulder when approaching others, trying to intimidate them! Im a pit mom and understand the frustrations how some people portrait my babies and the breed. Although I understand that pits are very powerful and also recognize ( still disagree though) their fear/concerns. I allow my dogs to defend themselves but never ignored their aggressions towards other dogs from the first day in the dog park! Let’s be courteous and respectful to others, ALL dogs deserve to be safe and happy! And remember, we humans don’t deserve dogs 😏
Unification there's too many Miss identification and they don't even change them if they find out it wasn't actually a pitbull artificially raises up numbers for pitbulls and aggression and whatnot it also doesn't help when people get a dog and don't train it right
I was thinking the same thing wathcing this. His dog seems to be the instigator and aggressor in a lot of these videos and situations. Ronin's recall was really bad when he was being agressive towards the puppy. If you have to physically grab your dog for them to listen to you then they are not trained well.

completely agree, hes quite the bully and his owner lets it slide.. no wonder why ronin gets into so many scuffles... recall your dog if you see other dogs being assholes, them them both cool off instead of letting your dog instigate... imo ronin starts most of the fights owner is just so caught up in clout chasing and babying his dog he cant see what he needs to correct, my shepherd used to do that a lot, i immediately put him in his place and showed him how to be a respectful pup and maintaining boundaries to stranger dogs.

Ronin isn’t aggressive, but his pushy behavior can lead to other dogs being aggressive..he typically backs away from fights if he can and tries to de escalate situations, but his pushy behavior needed worked on which the owner has done which included reinforcing the recall training so Ronin listens better (which you can see in the video he included a clip from a bit later showing Ronin now responding to recall)

I'm no expert, but I grew up with and I had a dog for 14 years (and looked after other dogs too in that time) and at best, my gut gives me very mixed feelings about this video, the owner and the dog itself.
I would be far from happy if I was on a stroll through a park and this dog bounded towards my dog with this very pushy attitude...along with all the little snarls, nips and bullying.
Where I come (back in the day) the overwhelming vast majority of dogs over many years would approach my gentle Labrador with a very playful, friendly attitude and they would always have a great time playing (said dogs had good-natured sensible owners), however I would not tolerate a large, lacking-in-training dog like this snapping/nipping at my dog's neck and bullying her - it happened once to my dog with a big German Shepherd who bit a chunk out of her fur above her tail - after bullying a few other dogs - and it promptly got my boot up it's ass and a warning to its clown of an owner to get it on a leash if they could not train it. I was at boiling point as my dog had been bitten and was really scared, but the wannabe bullying mutt got the message after letting out a big yelp after being introduced to my steel toe-capped boot.
I've never been able tolerate out of control, showy bullies or mindless dog-owners who try to shrug-off their dog's bad behaviour as somehow being 'natural' and not-a-big-deal. For me this owner's style of video along with all the smart-ass text that keeps popping up, for me, is nothing but a smoke-and-mirrors mechanism to distract from his lax, in-denial attitude and his dog's lack of training and bullying nature.

That poodle mix is a puppy, most likely why he isn't fixed. I don't see anything wrong he is doing and at that age they learn boundaries and communication when other dogs correct them. I also know that younger (especially intact pups) are often bullied by older male dogs. Your dog knew he was young and intact and saw him as a threat, he is the one that needed correction.

I think you have it the wrong way around.
Dogs are pack animals and in their natural state they live in a hierarchical structure and that is perfectly natural for them.
One of the best reasons to go to a dog park is to see your dog interact with other dogs.
Since dogs don't speak, they have their own way of communicating and interacting with each other.
Some dogs are taken from their mother too early and so have not learnt the proper protocols when meeting other dogs of varying status.
These videos give great insights into the "language" of the dog world.
The occasional growl, snarl or scuffle is not really a big deal.
It's just a way for the dogs to establish or demonstrate their position in the local hierarchy.
Both you and your dog can benefit from learning some of the nuances of dog behaviour and interactions.
It's rare to see a full on fight break out but of course if that does happen then both the owners should get involved to discipline their own dogs so that they understand that the owners are not happy with that behaviour from their dog.
@@PeteH0121They don’t have it the other way around. Talk to any dog trainer and they will say how they heavily advise against dog parks. Dog parks are never any good. The only good thing that comes out of a dog park is training my dog from the outside of the fence.
@@PeteH0121 yes there are structures in a dog setting but its about RESPECT and how to respect other dogs boundaries, ronin has absolutely none. dogs can be too much and can be too pushy and can be overly dominant, you dont want your dog to constantly get into scuffles because some dogs WILL NOT hold back especially when pushed to their limits, its YOU as their owner and their guardian to protect them and teach them what is acceptable in a high energy setting. Ronin lacks those boundaries and cant seem to respect other dogs especially ones he does not know, that's why owners need to be educated on what breed they get and get familiar with how genetics of said breed works. these dogs ronin has overpowered give clear signals of hey youre getting too roudy please go away, notice how most dogs seem to be avoidant towards him, lack playing with him yet like all dogs will still greet, but once they see how ronin postures, and acts they leave and then ronin pushes his way into the groups. showing everyone hey im the big guy here i want the control. hes a complete bully. That puppy that came up in this video was unsure and learning how to socialize and ronin wanted control and took advantage of how submissive she was (also play bows can be something call and displacement behavior, what that is is basically a hey! im super nervoud but im going to do this because i dont want a fight because im scared! notice how when she did that and ronin started chasing she immediately ran away and tried to get away.. she came back was still showing clear signs of uncertainty) . thats when you need to immediately grab your dog and let him cool off or better yet if you notice those signs (which when educated enough unlike ronins owner, you can tell before your dog is about to do something because they give clear telltail signs of when its going to happen: Call your damn dog back and prevent a fight or scaring the fuck out of a puppy that young which can and may cause behavioral issues in the long run with other dogs) , Ronin is always in a complete state of overstimulation and wants to get his way, you as a dog owner are supposed to correct those behaviors. I train dogs for a living and im ok with dog parks but i have clear CLEAR boundaries of what my dogs are supposed to do, one huge red flag is letting ronin bark and growl at the fence towards those dogs, when a dog enters a park i always recall my shepherd and get him into a "place" so he stays there so the dogs entering can have a slightly calmer setting so nothing would cause overstimulation that could result in a fight then i give him his release and let him greet said dogs. you NEED to keep your dogs corrected its not other dogs jobs to do that, some dogs are also just complete assholes and want to fight, some dogs LIVE and LOVE fighting, you cant just be like oh theyre dogs theyll handle it. no, thats how you get dogs hurt and killed.

Particularly dogs in a pack, but probably all dogs, should be leashed if there are other dogs nearby with which the owners are not familiar, because many dogs are in a state of hightened excitement at the prospect of getting into the park and that fact can attract unwanted attention.
I still think that the occasional scuffle is nothing to worry about.
Most of them are 50/50 scenarios and obviously one of the dogs is going to have to back down or else both of them need to be kept apart.
I am always in favour of letting dogs work their sociability muscles wherever possible - and safe.
Half of this is you not having total control over your own dog. Before you judge others control and their dogs, you should judge yourself. This is why dog parks are crap places for dogs. Every single person in this has more learning to do, including the poster.

Thank you thank you! I hate when an overly excitable dog is described as either protective, curious, dominant, or playful is frustrating. That dog is not properly socialized to be around large groups of dogs and that excitability can actually cause negative reactions by other dogs! I never take my smaller dog off his leash unlike my other dog, until he calms himself, and he works down his energy level. Otherwise they won't respect or respond to proper commands or can cause a fight to occur. It seems like this owner is justifying bad behaviors as showing dominance when it's actually just bad behavior and training!

I grew up watching Ceaser and loved him...now looking back, Ceaser has a really over the top agressive training style. There's a difference between being a leader to your dog vs being so dominant it causes them to emotionally shut down. His viewpoints on "owner being alpha" was debunked since the experiment he bases his training on was done on wolves...not domesticated dogs. Not to mention he has physically abused animals, in public, on multiple occasions. Should I bring up the Shadow incident? Everyone can have thier own opinions but I can't stand behind a trainer that chokes, kicks, and holds dogs down to prove a point to them. Ceaser was a crappy dog trainer who got handed a show. There's WAY better trainers to follow after. And WAY better methods than the abusive ones he uses.
Ive always like Victoria Stilwell. She's been my favorite dog trainer since day one that I still watch her shows today. She's gentle yet affirmative and let's the owners do the work unless the dog really needs help controlling they're dogs. Ceaser has become very full of himself and I don't like the way he trains vs how he used to back then.

Modern behavioural studies found verbal praise & reward based training , which Victoria Stilwell uses, to be far more effective . Cesar consistently gets fear based aggression bites that require medical attention. Victoria has never been bitten , in 20 years of training every breed & issue. Play bites are a different thing before anyone does the bites are normal. Play bites dont break the skin or leave you needing stitches.

Not really. He's quite dominant and controlling. Good for a malinois but not generally good. I walk 5-8 dogs in pack walks daily and I would not accept this behavior and if this dog encountered my pack and did any of these behaviors it would be an issue. Notice how his head is constantly going over the back of the neck of other dogs, a very rude, dominant social behavior. Even after the cane Corso puppy shows submission he still wants to dominate it. Not good.

I'm no expert, but I grew up with and I had a dog for 14 years (and looked after other dogs too in that time) and at best, my gut gives me very mixed feelings about this video, the owner and the dog itself.
I would be far from happy if I was on a stroll through a park and this dog bounded towards my dog with this very pushy attitude...along with all the little snarls, nips and bullying.
Where I come (back in the day) the overwhelming vast majority of dogs over many years would approach my gentle Labrador with a very playful, friendly attitude and they would always have a great time playing (said dogs had good-natured sensible owners), however I would not tolerate a large, lacking-in-training dog like this snapping/nipping at my dog's neck and bullying her - it happened once to my dog with a big German Shepherd who bit a chunk out of her fur above her tail - after bullying a few other dogs - and it promptly got my boot up it's ass and a warning to its clown of an owner to get it on a leash if they could not train it. I was at boiling point as my gentle dog had been bitten and was really scared, but the wannabe bullying mutt got the message after letting out a big yelp after being introduced to my steel toe-capped boot.
I've never been able tolerate out of control, showy bullies (dogs or people) or mindless dog-owners who try to shrug-off their dog's bad behaviour as somehow being 'natural' and not-a-big-deal. For me this owner's style of video along with all the smart-ass text that keeps popping up, for me, seems like a smoke-and-mirrors mechanism to distract from his lax, in-denial attitude and his dog's lack of training and bullying nature.

I mean in a few minutes of video Ronin: herds, possessively guards, controls space, pins, growls, mouths necks of submissive puppies, humps, chases down multiple dogs and puts his head over the back of the neck of other dogs (one of the rudest dominant behaviors worse than humping). I walk packs of dogs daily and his behavior would be something I wouldn't tolerate for a second. I've worked with dominant Malinois in the past and they are not easy dogs in the slightest. I don't see a single stern correction or any real disagreement from the owner. Just excuses.

Personally I would never bring any of my 6 dogs to a dog park . While working for a vet I have seen dogs that were attacked at the park , one miniature schnauzer had his throat crushed by a german shepherd . Not worth the risk .

Because nothing big has happened I think, he’s fairly good at pulling ronin away before anything major happens! Getting your dog to socialize with other dogs and make friends ALWAYS has risks no matter where you go..doggy daycares have their fair share of fights for example, but usually they’re minor and they can split them up

I see you like to spin things in favour of your dog. It doesn’t have the best of manners at a dog park, comes on too strong. If it was at its own home, maybe different but he is not in charge of the world and should be more laid back, more receptive rather then assertive all the time and the fact that his recall isn’t great just adds to it all.

I never mind it when my dog is doing appropriate corrections when it comes to himself and other dogs as dogs should be able to stand up for themselves but a dog park is not the place to put this in to practice. dog parks are supposed to be neutral zones since no one dog owns that territory. as a rule of thumb always correct mounting behaviour when it comes to other dogs and even among your own dogs. some dogs see it as a display of dominance and may bite and others may see it as a playful action but you still shouldnt take that chance. sometimes allowing dogs to work things out is great and does work wonderfully but more often than not it makes dogs fear others when not done appropriately. My charlie doesnt go near dog fights at parks because i taught him from a young age that we do not want to hang around that kind of energy. When he would try to dominate other dogs he would get corrected since that isnt a behaviour we want coming from any dog since it can lead to a fight...again not the kind of energy we want to attract. I also grab him when a dog is showing signs of fear and distract him because for the last time...not the kind of energy we want to attract. he also backs away from the gate and allows for other dogs to enter but then checks in with me as if he is asking if its ok to go near the newcomers. if the dogs are the right energy i tell him to go play but if they arent I leash him up and head out. If my charlie met ronin and was allowed to run up on dogs in the same manner you can almost bet a fight would of happened. its important to teach your dogs about the kind of energy you want to attract by exposing them to dogs of different temperments and perfecting their recall before exposing them to these dogs.
I would never take my dog to a dog park, ever. Too many dog owners are like too many parents. They allow their dogs to run wild, creating very dangerous situations. Sadly, too many dogs lose their lives in dog parks.

I took my 95 pound Bernese Mountain Dog to the park last week. There was a small group of dogs at the gate barking but one particularly caught my attention. His hackles were raised, leaned forward challenging the gate, teeth bared with drool, tail high un-waving, and refused to back up from the gate like the others. This dog ,(a husky) was showing every sign of being aggressive. His owner yells "He's just saying how do you do." And I thought, "No...thats not what this is." The owner didn't even attempt to get his dog under control so we could enter. I wasnt about to enter where the owner wasn't going to even attempt to control his dog. The owner was scarier than the dog! 😅 I made the decision not to enter. Just as I was about to leave, a woman in the small area with her 2 dogs had witnessed the whole thing. She graciously invited us over to play with her two dogs. It was fun watching 2 small dogs "gang up" on my big boy. I'm so glad I've been watching Ronin videos at the park. It's helping me learn dog body language, spot "negligent" owners, and make safer choices to keep my guy safe. Thank you for sharing these videos! ❤

Dogs dont have packs. Packs are made up for a breeding pair and their offspring. Dogs arent usually related when made part of the family. His dogs just a bully. I just had a bully client that now plays well with dogs. I can help him out. 😂

My dog got bit by a Milinois type of dog. She is a submissive neutred dog who tend to stick close to us when she is uncomfortable with other dogs. She knows when a dog doesn't want to play with her or doesn't like her. It happened when my dad was walking her alone in that Park we are used to go since we got her at 2 month old. I recently met with the owner and there was no excuses as I confronted her about it. She even implied that my dad was a liard by saying that her dog was free and didn't escape her hold and, it was almost as if it was my dad's fault that my dog bleed that day because he released her to play with her friends. And she warned me that my dad could have been bitten when he hit hzr dog with the leash in a defensive reflex...and I told her that she should never let her agressive dog unleashed ever again. The same day, in the evening walk, I saw her with the dog freed. And she deliberatedly provoqued me.
Now I have to avoid the Park because there is a high chance that I see her again and I am not confident to not punch her stupid face. "It is normal that dogs fight..." my ass ! Look at your dog, he nerver bit once in that vidéo and when he became too "rude" you corrected him. Parks are neutral territoires and educated dogs shouldn't have a reason to fight this agressivly. And, knowing mine she must have fleed to my dad when the other starded to attack her.

I'm sorry you went throught that, some people are so irreponsible, if she knew her dog was aggressive to the point of telling you he might have bit your dad and not only your dog, trhen she should know to keep him on a leash and with a muzzle on. It's people like this that get dogs killed by authorities because of their incompetence as owners. You should let other people at the park know, at least they can be aware so they don't go through the same.

The part with the puppy cane corso and Ronin is very relatable. My male 2 year old husky responds to puppies similar with dominant/play like behavior. Mine has gone too far at times and it is something we are working on every time we go to the park. Just seeing your boy doing similar behavior helps me to see it’s not just my dog lol

The issue is that it's okay for his dog to be dominant on any dog at a park, but it's not okay for someone else's dog to be dominant on him. The dog is probably intact too. No good. The corso didnt accept authority, was forced.

These dogs aren't "acting crazy" they are socializing, if things get heated the owner will recall, this is why you need a good recall and this owner sure does have one!
I agree with @daisydex12, Ronin is a great dog, but yea, as he's grown, he's become too dominant. Which is normal since his whole family is in the park, but his energy can create fights. Example: If the other dog who corrected the Cane Corso pup and then corrected Ronin wasn't that friendly, that would have been a fight. Do take care though and it's a good thing you keep an eye on him, as always, be careful with other alpha dogs around..Especially at dog parks.
I’d like to see that Malinois try that behavior with my Maremma . She knows voice commands, no hands on the collar needed. She’s loved by all the dogge’s at the local dog park
I have a Belgian Malinois and she is very protective of her Pitbull and Chihuahua siblings. She is a great dog and it amazes me how smart and easy to train she is.

I once had my once in a lifetime dog, Honey. I adored her. A goberian, husky and golden retriever. Pregnant when i pulked her off the street. 11 puppies. The best mom ever.
But the thing i loved the most was hiw she corrected other dogs. A friend had a young dalmatian mix who she couldn't get trained to not jump up on oeople or dogs. I said bring her over. Give her a minute, yes just one minute with Honey. I tokd the wiman do not react to what you gear she wont hurt her. The dog jumped up on Honey and Honey spun around making the most god awful sounds abd snarling at the dog. The dog stepped back and sat down, calm. I said thatll be $50!
The woman was stunned. I just laughed. Nothing a better teacher than a mama dog whose had 11 puppies! 😍

That's half the reason there are so many rude, yappy dogs around.
Too many owners over protect their dogs and make them nervous of every interaction.
Obviously it helps if the owner can read the warning signs of a genuinely aggressive dog - which make up only a very small percentage of the total.
You can often get as much of a clue by looking at the owners as by watching their dogs.

Whether they are our furry kids or human kids, letting them learn how to socialize at the park without direction or interference is important. We supervise just to be certain they are safe and to correct bad behavior. And enjoy watching them have fun!

This is NOT the channel you should be taking advice from…so many times this person has excused bad behavior and let their dog bully other dogs and plays it off as “dominance/playful” this dog needs more training before going to another dog park.. it’s not safe for the dog or the other dogs…it’s a horrible “accident” waiting to happen sadly…. I see this stuff all the time in my place of work -animal care technician
Bottom line without going through the entire video. Always assess the situation before you entire the dog park. Few people should have children. Fewer people should own dogs. Look at the dogs. Look at their behaviors. Look at the humans. See what they are doing and how they react? See if you can identify what dogs belong to what humans. Turn around and immediately leave if you don’t see what you like. Dog parks are not the best experience often times for humans and dogs. Too many shitty dog owners.
I love the way you can read their subtle language as well as the dogs can. So many dog owners innocently misread canine behaviour, which must make things confusing for their dogs.

I have a well behaved, well trained female Malinois. The dog in this video isn't one. Owner needs to check him before someone dies it for him.
It seems like most people see this as bad, even though the dogs are socializing, I don't see any huge issue with the way he treats his dogs. This person seems to have a great understanding of the reaction and socialization of these dogs and knows when to call them off, it is explained in every video.

I have a question for you all.... not like, JUST this dude in particular. Im a lil tipsy. A lil depressed about it all. A shot in the dark. My Shepard/Husky was attacked viciously. He has a permanent neck injury from it. The dog almost broke his neck. He was in training as my ptsd and diabetic alert dog. He still does what he needs to, but unfortunately this happened 3 months before his test. He now is extremely standoffish with dogs. And by that- I think he he has fear agression. He's excited to see them from a distance. Interested and looks back at me, tail lifted, slightly wagging, ectetc. He gets too close to them though, immediately starts barking. He lifts his paws, swipes the air. the whole shpeal. I make him stop and heel, and as soon as he's done bluffing the dog, they're friends- IF the owners don't run away. How can i... approach getting him more comfortable with dogs by him. He wont turn his back on any dog. at all. He has to have his butt to me. It's been 3 years now. I've gotten him to a point where he can have meetings with dogs after i ask the owner to just stop and have a small chat for his benefit. I explain that i KNOW it's weird, explain his situation, his strange bluffing thing he does to see if the other dog will come at him, and after that they're best friends. He gets along famously with dogs i've vetted- older dogs (he respects them), little dogs (they're the boss, he will submit to them) but anything bigger than a corgi he... does his thing. I have been trying to hard. I trained him myself. He was perfect before, and now all i do is love him and make him as happy as i can... but he is so lonely... so bored... i wish i could walk him in a park, but all the yahoos here keep their dogs off leash in a field with no recall... and im so afriad of a dog running up to him when i'm not looking or picking up a poop. I feel like im spinning in circles every ten steps just to make sure no one come walking towards us with their dog off leash on trails and such. I want him, and others to be safe... and oh my god... him in a car- if there's a dog on the street, and the window is closed... my back doors have claw marks all over them. He goes kujo. He's started that in the last two years... is there hope? (And how did you guys work on recal, his is gREAT1?)

Telling a dog no when it needs correction only worsens the problem. It makes the dog think its ok
How does “no” mean yes to you??? No IS a correction! No is one of the first words you teach a dog, it tells them to stop what they’re doing which IS a correction, it doesn’t tell them to keep going (aka “no” does not make them think their behavior is ok)
I've had a pack of three dogs - they stick up for each other. Two dogs or more is a pack, you need to read and control the pack. It doesn't matter what size the dogs are either. Dogs are excellent at reading body language in a nanosecond, seems us humans need to catch up. Thank you for your informative videos. Love dogs ❤🐶🐕

I never take my dogs to dog parks because I'm scared that they will get in fights with dominant dogs, I also don't want the dominant dog or my dog to get hurt.My dogs are also massive and will be very aggressive/protective if a dog is messing with me or their friend. I usually take them on walks around the block or take them swimming, they are great pyrnees dogs.
I’m not too familiar with all dog behavior so seeing this video is helpful! Also once I was with my friend and her dog and we were helping her dad unpack some things at a rental house and a neighbor’s dog came down the driveway (fine, this dog and my friends dog have gotten along fine for years) and was sniffing my mom’s dog whom I brought with me at the time (she was a puppy) and as soon as the neighbor dog raised her lips at the puppy my friends dog started barking and pushed the neighbor dog all the way back up the driveway. They really do protect eachother when they care for one another! My mom’s dog has since repaid the favor by guarding friends dog whenever anything happens (friends dog is fairly timid)
You are trying to create a narrative of other dogs being mean/bullying but when your dog does it it's correcting.

You shouldn’t bring a dog so assertive to the dog park, it’s a great way to start a fight, the second he meets another dog like him who doesn’t back down or listen to its owner like yours, there will be blood and a potential lawsuit.
One of the dogs "corrected" him and he seemed to back off, instead of attack
I'm not sure how different the scenarios are but it seems like he backed down there so why not if another dog was more dominant than him

My Chihuahua and I were walking out the door of our apartment, and a much bigger pitty mix, did the neck mouthing, to my chi. as he stepped out of the door. The neighbor just happened to be walking the dog right by our door and she was next to the wall/door. My Chi got away from her ran back into the house and started to cuss her the big dog out from the safety of our apartment. He was totally fine as she just mouthed him. Freaked me out, and he is no longer allowed to walk out of the house ahead of me. They now walk her the other way so the two don't cross. He is very old and completely blind, so it was quite terrifying to him. Thank you for explaining what this is.

Im glad I read the comments. It really felt off watching that vid. Ronin was really bullying everyone. Especially that poor cane corso puppy. Not acceptable.
If even a third of dog owners see your videos and start understanding dog behaviors, most issues would stop, this is terrific!
These comments show y’all obviously didn’t watch the video. He literally said he was working on his training and correcting Ronin’s mistakes and that he’s a lot better now. He honestly wasn’t acting all that bad nor aggressive in this video, y’all need to chill tf out, this man knows way better then any of y’all.
