    Jeremy, a very valuable survey of Yamaha pianos, which I think I can say without bias, are overall the best range of digital pianos available. Of course, personal preferences will lead some buyers to other brands, but for most people seeking a digital piano, Yamaha provides an extraordinary range at almost every price point (with this enthusiasm, I guess I should add that I have no connection with Yamaha!) What is most impressive here is that you have given good info on such a large range in under 20 minutes! Congratulations! [The only thing I might add is, I think the most expensive instrument, the top CVP-809GP piano/arranger model doesn't provide quite as good a piano as the top essentially unadorned piano, the CLP-695GP at around 2/3 the price (the difference of having an excellent arranger keyboard facility {a sort of cut down Genos} included) - but others may disagree on that.]

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for sharing Bryan. Yes, for those who are only after the piano sound, CLP-695GP is a better choice. But the 1,600+ voices including Super Articulation 2 & Revo drums like the Genos are very tempting! 😬 The piano sound and touch of both these are identical though, featuring the new GrandTouch action with escapement and counterweights as well as binaural CFX & Bosendorfer Imperial. Have a great Sunday, buddy.

    • @virtualwarp

      Which Arius model do you own and how long did it took you before you realized that you needed to upgrade to a more advanced digital piano?
      I'm asking because I desperately want to learn how to play the piano.
      I've been looking at the Yamaha YPD-144 as my first ever instrument.
      I know as good as nothing about playing an instrument and all of it is a little overwhelming and intimidating.
      I also have no spare money to pay for any lessons giving by an experienced teacher.
      So, I will use whatever source of knowledge I can find to aid me.
      Do you have any advice for me?
      I'd really appreciate it 😉👍

      @amirshayanmoghtaderi5840 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@virtualwarp I had ydp-144 as my first piano. I don't remember when I upgraded to an acoustic piano, but it depends on how much you practice every day and remember having a digital piano is a great tool for learning through apps like flowkey and Yousician, also for someone like me who wants to create music a MIDI connection is crucial, and for the resources, I had 5 different teachers before, but almost all of them taught with an outdated and very boring method, and after more than a year that I waste a lot of money and time I gave up for a year, and now I started again about a month, I highly recommend you to check out Pianote lessons, that's incredible the also have a youtube channel, and in their site, they have two or three free courses that you can try before making a decision to purchase a course but I telling you it worth every penny!

    Thank you Jeremy. In my opinion, CVP809 is definitely the right option for those who enjoys wide ranges of realistic sounds apart from the acoustic grand piano as one-man band at home or studio.
    Feeling like the pianist with ability to perform the other sounds as well is absolutely a great advantage to all performers.
    But I won’t recommend for those who looks only for the piano sound since YAMAHA also has the other series of digital piano to be chosen to match well for this group with cheaper cost.

    Jeremy didn't gives us a full answer to his own question. So which is best?
    IMO it's the Arius YDP 164. Costs about €1000. It's great value for money, and I really enjoyed playing it in the school where I found one. The action is superior to the lower Arius models. I recommend it as a first piano, or as an upgrade from something really cheap.
    A close runner up IMO is the P-121. It's about as cheap as the P-45, but much better. 73 notes can even be an advantage in a first instrument (fits anywhere) and also for transporting.

    I was thinking of getting Casio PX870 or Roland FP30 after some meticulous youtube research but when I looked online on the marketplace, it looks like their presence in our country is not as strong as Yamaha’s.. so I’m thinking of buying a Yamaha now..
    Would you recommend a newbie like me to go ahead with P-125 or YDP-144? I would probably use headphone a lot, since I live in a very crowded neighborhood.. but I really want to have a piano that sounds very close to the acoustic one.. please kindly advise 🙏🏼

      Although both uses GHS action, but the matte black keys on the P125/P121 makes the entire key action more confident to play with. Especially classical pieces.

      @@JeremySee I had bought a p515 couple years ago, but I often wonder, if it is worth having clavinova version, clp645 ( now clp745), with bigger speakers..its tricky because some shops the clavinova speakers sound overly boomy and muffled (if it was alone in a warehouse type setting), and some shops it sounds amazing (smaller rooms). what is your experience in home or studio settings with such instruments I mentioned? is the difference huge? They both have same sample.

    Jeremy you should review a Medeli DP740 Keyboard I would be interested in your opinion, especially your impression of the playability. To me it is by far has the most piano like feel of any Digital Piano I have played. Yamaha, Korg, Casio, Roland, Kawai, Kurzweil all have action that is heavier than an actual piano, which makes it a little more difficult to play certain single key passages.

    Hi Jeremy. Can you tell me what is the lowest priced arranger keyboard, that would give me the same level of style creation abilities as the Casio CT-X5000? I realize that it would be more expensive than the Casio, I'm just curious what compares to it's deep level of style creation. Thanks, Rich M.
