      @@Aquemini616 he actually has started saying like 3 words! I feel like he’s getting there. The biggest thing that helped was giving him options during routines that he was familiar with, where he already understands the vocab and knows what to expect. Which pajamas do you want, penguin or red? If I know without a doubt that he’s going to want one thing, I will play dumb. When I put on tv, I know he wants TH-cam, so I’ll click around with the remote asking “do you want Netflix? Hulu?…” and purposely ignore TH-cam and play dumb, he said “youtooo” one time and I’ve pushed for it ever since, it’s his most consistent. He also signs “more” a lot and once when I guess I didn’t see him he finally let out a “moooooww”. And “cookie” because he really wanted an Oreo. I feel like he’s on his way (slowly but surely) to talking soon.

    Also, I just want to say that your work is so inspiring to me! I am in the early stages of my speech journey -- I have been working as an SLPA for about 6 years now specializing in early language in toddlers and preschool children and I absolutely love it! I am working towards studying for my Master's (there are very limited opportunities for this in Canada so I am looking at the US or Australia), and I am a TH-camr, so my dream is to create videos, a website, and therapy materials as well as parent training opportunities. Everything you do in your work is so inspiring to me. I would love to pick your brain one day via email if you ever had the time. Thank you for everything you do, you have helped so many! All the best --Bailey

      My daughter now tries to say some thing's, such as pop, woof, doggie and more. She only started to try to speak a month before school was out for the summer, which kind of sucks since she is being transferred to another school closer to our home when school starts up again. I can only hope she does not regress, since it takes her a while to warm up to someone.

      I face this same problem .. with my autistic students ... intelligent one .. been teaching him since 3 years old .. could see drastic improvement... but .. when it comes to work ... he wants me to cuddle him hold his finger .. guide .. when I scold him .. he refuse to complete the work ... shows tantrums
      When I hug him .. he will start to calm down ... but the attention span is too shot .. what surprises me is .. he remembers many of the words better than other normal children 😀

    My child is three and he knows his ABCs fully, also knows his numbers 1-15. He is motivated in the morning to do his lessons, but I noticed he gets tired really fast after 5 pages. I think he could be faster. But he's slow with talking.... he should be saying fuller sentences. His family on his fathers side all called him slow because they raised their first grandchild who was put in preschool and was already speaking by this age. It really made me angry that they would undermine my child, and compare him too his dad who has ADD. Also they call him.a bad child because his dad was labeled as the bad kid and say rude things like "its because of his genes," well i finally had it and took my son away from that environment. But how can I help my child talk more? Should I put him in preschool?

    • @angeliss.7967
      @angeliss.7967 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't listen to anyone about your child. Your his mother and only you know what's best. Taking him away from that environment was a great first step. Just remember to be patient and have fun with him when teaching him to talk. Don't get mad or frustrated because that'll make him shy away even more from talking. Encourage him and shower him with love and he'll be ok.
