    That's a great idea, did you do anything special to keep the funnel connected to the air filter? Do they not bounce around at all shifting the merge point? What was the total time for removal and install of the piping/airbox?
    I just got an S40 and found your channel. Your videos are all very informative, thank you!

      As the engine slightly shifts under load, it might separate the funnel from the filter slightly. But just the resistance of the silicone hose holds it in place pretty well. Being able to slightly separate is preferred to avoid any water from getting into the filter and puddling up.
      I've installed many intakes on these cars. Taking my time and filming, it was about 1 hour from start to finish.

    Hey, love your videos! Awesome build! Question, I have a V50 2.4l non-turbo. We put a cold air intake on and it stalls occasionally when not warm. Is there a Mass Air sensor upgrade that wiuld solve the higher airflow reading? ...Am I on the right track here?

      Sounds like it could be MAF related. Any pending codes? It sounds like your MAF is working fine if it's registering the increased airflow, the problem is how the car compensates for this. That is where software tuning is needed. What intake did you install? Most are developed specifically for the T5 and even then, they should still be tuned for.

      @LiL-Kelley YT Yes. Sometimes you can avoid faults from sensors with spacers or special bends, but anything that can potentially change the expected air flow or fuel consumption can result in an error. But without getting a specific code, it will be hard to pinpoint the exact problem.

      @LiL-Kelley YT Suspension, sway bars, wheels, tires, brakes. You can make that car handle like a dream and outrun just about anything on the twisty roads.
      This can apply to all P1 Volvos, but there are some items that are specific to the T5. th-cam.com/video/aOGiD9GZBXI/w-d-xo.html

    Question for you .. with the resonator pipe that you took out from the baffle with pliers and put aluminum tape on.. did you put that pipe back into the baffle that connects to the "new replaced mototec charge pipe" that goes to the turbo?

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DAPPA DON Mototec doesn't not have a replacement coupler that connects to the turbo, it uses the same stock piece. The resonator went back into place with the aluminum tape. Leaving this resonator out will cause worse flow due to the baffling of that coupler.

      @@MyNameIdeasWereTaken whats the function of that resonator pipe? decrease sound? thanks in advance

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UrbanRican74 It helps muffle the intake noises and whistle of the turbo. Also, nice profile picture... That's one of my shots.

      @@MyNameIdeasWereTaken thx like that pic😁... So if i remove completely the resonator pipe it will be littler lauder right ... Or better wraping like u did

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UrbanRican74 Don't just remove it, as the ribbed pipe will cause more air disturbance than the resonator and hinder performance. Either replace it with a smooth pipe, wrap it like I did, or buy a replacement silicone coupler that doesn't have the resonator.

    How did you get the air box rubber mounts off? I'm currently removing the air box and I'm stuck on those mounts attached to the engine

    Did you have som problems with overheating of ECU after this change?

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No concern at all, even in hot climates. Over 200k miles of it being relocate on my C30 track car without a problem.

    Did you disconnect the main computer to do this

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to disconnect the CEM, but you do have to disconnect the ECU when removing the factory airbox, since it resides inside the intake box.

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's the Mototec intake. All I did was add a funnel to make it full enclosed as a true cold air intake.
