The ambient noises in the background, noticing something peeking at you from a distance then leaving or seeing something entering a room as you exit. Gives off the feeling of being stalked. It's creepy and doesn't overly rely on the usual jumpscares with loud audio queues most games tend to. I guess you touched on these points already though.

I'm only about 40 minutes in and I'm really enjoying the subtle appearances of the monster as opposed to them suddenly being in your face and dying. 44:08 for some rare john jumpscares
I have to say, this game and you synergized quite well and I felt a lot of enjoyment here. This game seems worth getting and I like the slow approach of building up atmosphere, playing some simple yet effective mind tricks and keeping the game all in all, besides the backtracking, fresh enough, to constantly give me feeling of uneasiness and anxiety. A great catch, John. Thanks to the developer as well and I am wishing him the best of luck, support and patience to finish this project.
I quite like the atmosphere in this! It didn't really matter what area you went to, I was still spooked out. It felt like no place was safe there Also, that jumpscare was really good, hahaha, I was really not expecting that!
Actually, I'm getting Quake 1 and 2 vibe from this game when it comes to the environmental design ( you know, all the pipes, and the warehouse and whatnot? )

It's some solid stuff. I can see the Amnesia/Silent Hill influences (and a subtle nod to Cry of Fear), but I also appreciate that they're _influences,_ not rips of mechanics, maps and models. It's a breath of fresh air, truly. I may have to pick it up myself when it comes out.
I've been watching John's videos for 4 years now, and during this playthrough I saw John actually emit fear, like I have never really seen in any of his content before or at least in quite a long while

It's always a rare treat watching John play something he enjoys.
There were more times something was watching you from the corner, than that one time John noticed. Good game man. Subtle and creepy.
So i have watched Neco The Sergal play, then MrKravin and now you play this game. Each time there was a significant amount of updates to make the game play better and longer. Its really incredible to see so much work being put into this, cant wait for more!
Just wanted to say thank you, John, for taking care of the first part of the video! I know it might be something normal to you, to fix issues with the video, but spending hours on it just to deliver us quality is really a reason why I prefer your channel over others.
I noticed some small hiccups here and there but you fixed it so well, the frame rate didnt bother me at all. So great job! :D
One of my favorite channels.
*WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT ACTUALLY NEEDED THE BOX OF NAILS*
*I WAS BUILDING A RUNNING JOKE GODDAMNIT*
10/10 gg
John you gotta play the full release! This game looks amazing, and had a few moments making me jump
When he kept hitting the shelves with the pipe, I thought he was serious at first , lmao funny John.
"We're gonna get a handle on this situation. " (face palm) You crack me up! 😁
John actually getting frights and shocks?! This is so refreshing.
16:30 @John Wolfe Nah, the people who ask when the next SallyFace chapter would eventually embark on a quest to find you just to ask when the next chapter is.
I LMFAO @ 14:36 when you hit that dark hallway and exclaimed "Oh UhUh" at that same moment I literally said yelled NOPE at my tv. Glad we are on the same page. I would have tried to turn right back around too lol. Also, this game gives me Vaporium vibes, which I love.
Amazing atmosphere and aesthetics for a single developer! I loved it and of course the camera room made me jump out of my skin. I can't wait for the next release!
I fucking love the spooks with no sound, like that hand or the thing peaking around the corner? It's so freaky. Surprisingly very atmospheric game!
Ready for this!!
And I wasn't ready for this. I actually got scared multiple times in this games and that's rare for me. Also, some of those walls creeped me out.
John, I lost it when you were messing with the pipes. Freaking hilarious.
Holy shit a quality release without bugs … what a treat ….
Looks like a pretty awesome game, and as always, loved watching you play!
"The screwdriver needs to be burped."

-John: "Oh We are back here :D"
I'm only about 40 minutes in and I'm really enjoying the subtle appearances of the monster as opposed to them suddenly being in your face and dying.
44:08 for some rare john jumpscares
I’ve never seen you jump like during the camera sequence!! This game looks awesome
Okay, but the way he says “dangerous” at 55:38 is so charming~ ❤️
I love the confident nod after pointing out the interesting rocks. Lol
This was fun!
God, this would be absolute torture playing through. I don't know how you do it, John.
Omg normally i dont get creeped out but this game is creepy af
Reminds me so much of Silent Hill! The guy has some serious potential in developing horror games, bravo sir!
This place is like a nightmare on Elm street when you first meet freddy
I quite like the atmosphere in this! It didn't really matter what area you went to, I was still spooked out. It felt like no place was safe there
Also, that jumpscare was really good, hahaha, I was really not expecting that!
Thank you, I really enjoyed this game. Can't wait to see more.
thank you for uploading!! i love your videos 💕
My new favorite quote,
"Have no fear! John is here! ... rocks. Hehe."
Like, you kill me, my guy.

Nice not being assaulted by jump scares...creepy atmosphere..
You know it’s a good horror game if it makes John jump
Man something about this game is so pleasing to look at lol. I just like looking at the environments
This reminds me of the feeling I had when watching you play Phobia years ago. Amazing Game!
I'm getting major Event Horizon, Dead Space and Alien vibes from this game, due to the environmental design.
Actually, I'm getting Quake 1 and 2 vibe from this game when it comes to the environmental design ( you know, all the pipes, and the warehouse and whatnot? )

Same but I listed the Horror influences on this game.
Not to say that Quake doesn't take major influences.
Very obviously has huge Penumbra and Silent Hill influences
@Mr X Well, Quake did have some creepy atmosphere too.
why is his hiding space a crime scene? there were at least 5 numbered tags tagging a location of interest
Tyler Rose I’m so glad someone else noticed this
@@anastasiadzincioloski4911 ikr i hope it's hinted at in the story maybe a death of a friend/family or his own death and he's just reliving a nightmarish loop
Growing up in a family falling apart can make normal childhood pursuits/behaviors feel like a crime. At least to the child trying to navigate their broken environment.
@@s.m.gonyea1453 hmm thats true
@@s.m.gonyea1453 very true
It's some solid stuff. I can see the Amnesia/Silent Hill influences (and a subtle nod to Cry of Fear), but I also appreciate that they're _influences,_ not rips of mechanics, maps and models. It's a breath of fresh air, truly. I may have to pick it up myself when it comes out.
8:01 Dogs when they think they hear the doorbell
I've been watching John's videos for 4 years now, and during this playthrough I saw John actually emit fear, like I have never really seen in any of his content before or at least in quite a long while
39:43 I happen to be watching on a tiny phone screen and I *did* see that. It was a creepy naked slenderman.
This is by far the most amazing and most well designed indie horror game ive seen in my life, its been made by only 1 person too.
Absolutely incredible and pure talent, the layout and how things are placed and the factory and metal design is exceptionally good, it gives such great vibes of doom 3 too.
Truly masterpiece here.
Wow! This game was incredible. Also, I think the amount of backtracking is neatly placed in a way that makes it an enjoyable experience! Super freaky with the "peeking" entities and stalking lost souls. Awesome game!
I don't 'like' videos normally. But that part, when that creature, was peeking from around the corner,.. gave me goosebumps and I just had to smash that like button lmao
