THANK GOODNESS I found this video. I had no idea the pump was underneath the wheel and after replacing it my light went off after three engine cycles P2404. It only took me about an hour and I wasn’t in a rush. Few of tips: 1) Watch this entire video because he has some trial and error on technique 2) when you unbolt the canister have a piece of wire so that you can hang it from the wire versus from the hoses that connect to it. 3) you don’t need to spray the hoses with silicone lubricant, just grab the hoses firmly but gently and give them a twist to break the seal then pull them off 4) lower the canister then pull off the pump 5) you can watch it at 1.25x speed if you want
See the 3-10mm bolts. If you remove those bolts. The whole assembly comes down making removing the Phillips and hoses very easy. You made this job much harder then it is. Other then that. Great job.
Thanks for the video. Just completed this job last Saturday evening. What a pain. My car has an additional "pressure valve", with support piece on-top of the three pump screws. It's literally blocking the pump screws. Managed to finesse my way to unscrew, but left one of the three screws off at the end. Pump hoses and electrical plug gave me such a tough time. During the process, I had to take off and move out of the way the breather hoses and air cleaner. Oh, and I also dropped the whole carbon canister and hung it by a zip tie. I recommended some penetrating lube and helping muscle.
Glad you were able to get it done though. Things become hard to remove when they haven’t been touched since the car left the factory new haha. Thank you for the comment.
Thank you buddy for you video,, I just got this check engine light code on my cayenne today,, and the repair service shop want $1300 for replace it... Thanks 🙏
Yeea, it took a little bit of trial and error to figure out the best way to go about it haha. But all these years later never had the code return and it’s all working properly still.
Appreciate the guidance as I just completed mine today. I presoak the hoses and screws with WD40 before dropping the whole canister to simplify removal. Let's hope the P0456 error code doesn't return as it only happens on cooler weather. Thank you !!!
Hey I like your video I was just curious I have a code 4055 check engine and I change the purge canister solenoid from the front of the engine I still get the check engine light then after that when I fill the tank up halfway I get on my dash lose cap I change the gas cap twice can it be defective twice so now I'm thinking of doing the job you doing which that's called leak detection pump hoping that's the problem if you have any opinion to what I'm saying can you respond back to me I appreciate it this video helped me out a little bit to your knowledge I appreciate you putting this up I have a Porsche Panamera 2010 they basically the same with a 4.8 thank you
It did not. I’m thinking that will be a separate issue. White smoke usually means coolant. It’s hard to say without seeing the vehicle. If you check in the coolant reservoir, see how the level is and if it looks like it’s mixed with oil then that could be the cause.

Kamal before you fixed this would your Porsche shoot out white smoke from the exhaust?
