Time travel, strangers wanting to 'put things right' ? sounds like a sinister version of Sapphire and Steel to me.
This is right up my alley and I can’t wait to watch this. As soon as I saw the clock, watched them turn the hands, and learned they go through time, I WAS ALL IN.
Don’t know if anyone else is familiar with this show, but there was once a supernatural, multi-versed, fantasy show that was on a couple years ago. It was called THE MAGICIANS. And I don’t use this phrase often but, it was totally bad ass.
A blend of genres, this highly imaginative show was at times horror tinged, at times darkly humored and even tragic, deliciously rebellious, darkly moody, and meticulously crafted, this made for adults supernatural fantasy show was truly one of a kind. LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 friendly, it featured strong writing and performances, such incredible world building, with fantastically written characters (especially its female characters), and arcs that are pretty great. It was highly original, and absolutely fantastic. It lasted 5 seasons but it still wasn’t enough for me, and I miss it to this day. But, enough of that. Here’s the point (at last 😂):
In THE MAGICIANS, there’s a clock…and as those who’ve seen it know, it’s kinda special. That’s all. 😂 And of course, I must do the following: Fillory and Further Forever. Long live King Margo. Elliot + Q = ♥️.
And omg, it would be a GREAT WATCH FOR THE PATREON. 🤔 I mean it Yutaka, you would loveeeee this show.
Cannot wait to watch this film though. Thanks Yutaka! ❤
This could give some Magicians vibes, but this movie seems to carve out its own little niche with time travel. It's so freaking good.
Its crap. I love time travel but this wasn't worth watching.
@@jaysunbrady Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it.
Story made no sense at all.
You definitely made me want to see the movie! I purchased it on demand!!
Hell Yeah! Let me know what you think!
Great review ❤
Yasss!!! Thank you! It's so hard to get back into it. The nerves hit hard sometimes.
This film randomly appeared as a open tab on my phone. Watched it and loved it. I've always been a fan of fractured timelines
Yaaaassss!!! I love to hear that! It's such a wonderful film, and it's shot beautifully.
I don't get what people liked about this film. It was slow and rarely anything well explained. You never find out much about why what is happening is happening, It's a waste of time,
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, and I can understand your view. It was definitely a dialogue based film. I still overly enjoyed it.
Too many plot holes. I'm assuming they'll answer some questions in their shared universe later maybe.
That's valid, and I'm hoping we can understand more on the physical release. I want to hear that commentary.
This move had much promise but failed. It was convoluted and did not give us a good pay off after having so little information given to us. The 3rd visitor part made no sense as to who it was and why. There were so many questions unanswered and not worth the time.
That's a bummer to hear you didn't enjoy it. I will say there are some plot holes, but I personally believe this was an incredible first effort. I do have questions about how the third visitor got there, but I'm also not sure we were seeing one continuous visit even in the beginning.
@@TheHorrorHourTV one continuous visit from whom?
@@AnointedFlow We never find out. Honestly theres too much wrong to get past the plot holes to enjoy it.
@@jaysunbrady indeed worthless
This film grabbed me by the first trailer, which is all I know about the movie. I can’t wait till I see it.
AV...I think this is right up your alley.
So the girl was her daughter right ?
So Sid's reaction and the name Steph didn't tip you off?
Yeah but we never find out how she got involved, how she had the notebook and gave it to her uncle in the first p;lace. Too many plot holes to be enjoyable.
Absolutely loved the film. The phrase said in Latin that others may want to know what was said/meant. Took me multiple spelling attempts on google translate lol but sit pero tutu perogrinationa is Latin for let it be a safe peregrination(Long and meandering journey). Not sure if Benson/Moorhead had any writing or executive producing involved or if Benson was just acting in it but I hold this film in as high regards as I do The Endless. I thought it was a unique and clever way to portray time travel personally. Just like The Endless, I can see this film already is being smacked with complete hate or absolute love with not much in between. I would like to get a digital copy and pause the screen on when the notebook is opened for the multiple times to see what is written on it! The score has some great musical talent involved as well. The band The Album Leaf and Jimmy Lavelle are the ones I know but it credits a few others. Highly recommend listening to that as well. The end credits song which titled Things Will Be Different is beautiful.
EDIT: spoilers in my reply
Oh...it was already purchased. Multiple rewatches will be had because I want to find more clues. The time travel component was definitely a new one, and I found it to be very creative. I believe Benson and Moorhead were executive producers on it. The Endless was really good.
@@TheHorrorHourTV SPOILERS AHEAD TO THOSE READING PLEASE DO NOT READ!!! I edited my first comment as well to state spoilers. In your opinion- Do you think the ending signified that Joe was just being reset over and over to attempt to prevent the outcome that resulted in Sid’s death? And when the Vice Grip said something along the lines of “maybe it will be different this time” as in they have actually been through this before but maybe the time shown in the film was the closest to things working in there favor? Any insight on what you think was going on in that situation would be awesome. I was curious what your thoughts were on the artwork? We noticed the house painting ended up having two people added to it at the end of the film that is likely them. Man what a movie…thanks for the reply!
@@nishoba Spoilers ahead: First, I'm absolutely over the moon you enjoyed the movie and watched the review. I agree it's been completely reset over and over. My question is was this truly the first time? I feel we witnessed one of the multiple attempts. It felt like Joseph was holding back at times in terms of dialogue. Wait...I never spotted that painting, so now I need to go back and rewatch again.
@@TheHorrorHourTV Spoilers ahead: Yes! The painting in the diner depicts the house during a panning over to her walking in the first time. Then at the end it shows the same painting in the diner but with two people standing in it! Makes me wonder if that Diner has some significance besides them meeting there. Crazy lol.
I think some scenes take place in different cycles. At the beginning, Joe's already been through the cycle several times. That's why the burned body is there, and why we see a tent with a liquor bottle in the woods. But at the end when he begs the Vise to give him another chance, we're seeing his first time. Otherwise he'd remember asking them. Unless the "wipe" the Vise talked about is memory, not existence.
