1. Why did the mans voice on recorder change toward the end of the film… 2. What was Steph doing there? 3. Who was the lady who gave them the house? 4. How or why was she killed in the house? 5. I still dont understand the end with him getting another chance, and going back and killing himself at the beginning… BUT HOW DID SID KNOW this time around and not the other 1,000 times??? WTAF?
I didn't even notice n. 1 !! What the heck. It's not even one of those movies worth reawatching because there are no hidden clues to find: there simply are NO answers for us viewers. There was so much potential in all the issues you just raised... Damn. Just after posting this video I watched Caddo Lake on MAX and even though it has a much slower pace at the beginning (but picks up later) it makes total sense and gives you proper answers, check it out if you haven''t yet.
1. I think his voice changed because he was being forced to make a new safe appear and new voice recorder for Sidney. Maybe he didn't care about disguising his voice to her because it was such a critical moment with her brother being held hostage and them almost getting the intruder. 2. She's the one that gave them the notebook to get there in the first place. Although, I'm still confused about what she was doing there after they crossed over. Maybe her future self was helping her past self escape that place. 3. I think Steph was the one that sent them to that house. I still don't understand why she would fight her mother and never say anything, then just run up stairs as she dies? What? 4. Who? Steph? I thought she escaped. Or do you mean the original owner? 5. It's shown that his hair turned grey, implying that he's been trying to save his sister a very long time and failing. He just wanted to end the cycle by having his sister shoot him and telling her to leave the money and run. She didn't know it was him, because she asked "who are you?", he answers "I'm no one" and admits to killing her brother, letting her get angry enough to shoot him. It's really twisted and f*ed up. I went into this hoping for a good mystery with lots of time travel, maybe some running into their past selves or finding more clues about the original family that lived there and meeting one of them. Instead it quickly turned into more of a horror movie. If you like scifi and mysterious houses then you should watch the 'Locke and Key' series instead. It gives you lots of plot, good characters, and answers at the end.
@@msdecleir6389 Kind of. Adults can't remember magic, but the kids and teenagers can. There's different keys hidden around the house that let them do different magical things One them includes time travel. Characters do get killed, not in a gorey way. It's rated TV-14.
I think the pacing was fine. I was just confused why The Visitor was there, why she couldn't talk, why her face was covered, and why she help up the boom box. I can see why this movie didn't get a theatrical release . . . the first two acts are solid, but the script needed a rewrite for the third act. Still, I'm glad I bought the DVD -- the acting and setup are really good. I'll probably rewatch one day.
Right after making this video I watched Caddo Lake on Max and it was even better! Let's just say that it started a bit slow and then picked up, quite the opposite to Things Will Be Different
@@Heyitsminobee I would literally recommend you watch this. You can grab a notepad and jot down the unexplained instances in chronological order! 🤣 but its not boring at least. Lol.
SSOOOOOoooooo much unexplained stuff in this film it was a bit infuriating. Im here because I thought maybe i missed the whole plot (despite being a hardcore time travel sci fi film fan. Lol.
1. If Joe was that changed and old by the end, wouldn't Syd had noticed that during the previous trip? "Hey man, I just saw you during the heist, what happened? She just says "you're filthy". 2. Why are there so many shots showing details that seemingly mean nothing? Like the intruder carefully switching rifle sights while Joe is tied up. 3. Who sent the food to replenish the house? The vise operators? Why did they do that if they were intruders during the first two weeks? 4. What was Steph's goal? To kill them? It didn't seem like it, she had a pretty clear shot from a meter away while Syd was facing another way and didn't shoot. 5. Why was Steph concealing her identity but then playing the song she clearly knew was her mom's memory of her grandmother? 6. It's implied what we're watching is not Joe's first run, since he suddenly explains how the vise works with information out of thin air. If it's a guess, it's a pretty unbelievable one. 7. If breaking the door was going to damage the house's mechanism, why was then Steph able to escape doing exactly that, and more importantly, where did she access the house's area from? A lot of gaps IMO. I want to believe the director has everything mapped in his study, but considering how coy he's been on answering anything related to the plot, I have to assume it's just flawed. The two actors are stellar, they nail it. It's an interesting movie with some very cool artifacts and ideas, but ultimately bites its own tail.
Great questions and observations!! I wish the director listened to you and all the others who were ultimately disappointed and just wished for an indie film to do better.
I’m a huge movie fan (especially thriller and horror) but this movie left me in a legit bad mood because of how ambiguous it was. I don’t like saying something is bad just because of my own lack of understanding but I feel like this movie did a terrible job of resolving the plot and left way too much on the viewer to try and piece together.

@ I loved Locke & Key, no matter the age of the protagonists

I agree with everything you said about the movie , it left me with a lot of assumptions but no real answers.
And I felt so bad saying that, because it's an indie production after all...

@TheStoriesEater I've been on an SF indie run. Watched I Origins the other day, much tighter. Great watch.
I'm adding it to my watchlist, thanks!!

I had the exact same reaction - it made me literally angry and annoyed that I had invested 2 hours in this very poorly put together movie!
There are clues all the way thru that Joe had been here before ….
