So how do you answer this ?
Hi my name is sree Nair I hail from kerala it's a small state in india blah blah blah.... every interviewer or employer might have heard this a million times ...
Let's change the track a bit..
1. It's all about selling - Expertise highlight
Tell how awesome you are - talk about your experience, skills, abilities and show them how confident you are in yourself and the previous roles you handled . Employer wants the best candidate in the market
Bad Example - I am from kerala a small state in india . I originally wanted to be a fireman, then later became interested in dinosaurs. I excelled in the sciences from early on
Zipppppppp....Nada .... Noooo....
This is how you say it
Good example
“I’m an innovative HR manager with 8 years of experience managing all aspects of the HR function - from recruiting to training to benefits - for Fortune 500 companies.
Mmmm that sounds like an charming answer.
2. Elevator pitch - Time is money- Noone has all day to hear about how great you are. So let's dive straight into the point .
An elevator pitch is a short summary used to quickly and simply define a product, service, or business and its value proposition.
You need an elevator pitch for yourself as a job candidate - and it should be customized for different opportunities. Keep it focused and short, ideally less than a minute, and no more than 2 minutes.
3. Keep it Professional - this isn’t the time to talk about your pets and hobbies. Unless you are in an interview which is based on your hobbies. Like if you go for an interview in a pet store .yes obviously talk about pets and how much you love them etc otherwise don't
The emphasis here is on experience, enthusiasm, and proof of performance.
So next time when an interviewer asks to tell about yourself . Dont hesitate dont mumble just follow these 3 tips and you will be successful.

no it doesn't matter if you use phone or laptop. but should not be handheld when talking. keep your phone at one place and talk into the screen or camera.best of luck
