When fusing, talents not selected for the fusion monster will be refunded and you can put them in any talent tree, also for early game if you get your hands on a metal slime (E rank) and fuse it with a slime knight (F rank) you can get a metal slime knight that is C Rank, skipping Rank D entirely
@@iStarlyTV I got my first one as a reward for getting mini medals, but I did find two more in the middle Echelon in the circle of caprice hiding in caves. I don't know if they start popping up around that point or if it's just how my luck played out.
Explaining how Str/Wis affects scouting was good, but you did leave out a part of the formula: Having copies of that monster already scouted! Trying to recruit a monster type for the first time (after other area-specific goals are met) gives you a fairly high success chance. Most people will notice that recruiting a second copy of that monster leads to a dramatic drop in scout chance, and even more so for a 3rd and 4th copy and beyond. To restore that scout chance to a higher number, you have to remove those copies from your paddock via synthesis (or removing them some other way).
I think the chance roughly halves with each additional monster, 100% for the first, 50% for the second, 25% for the third and 12,5% for the fourth. I did not try more than four but I assume it goes down like that for further copys.
I'm happy to see channels like this, who covers such a great game like DQM. This game deserves lots of love and popularity on the West, which it doesn't have much atm. You are awesome! Thank you so much for your super clear and informative videos. I only briefly played Dragon Warrior Monsters and picked up the demo for this game and had a bunch of fun with it! Preciate your very helpful content, can’t wait for the next vid!
I didn’t know the paddock ones gained exp too, though I did notice that they’d have more talent points waiting but I just thought I was being forgetful, lol.
after unlocking the indigo timestone (can’t remember what they’re called in game), you can actually skip ahead a couple more regions and in a way break the game lol with cutscenes occurring with characters you haven’t met yet…. but it has great monsters if you go there just after rank E mausaleum
Hello, I'm quite new to DQM and really wanted to get into it but I'm very lost concerning synthesizing and especially talents and what to go for or how to level them up and why Do you have a beginner's guide on that or know of one please?
Btw, I have experienced this myself countless times, be very careful when using large monster to scout monsters, because they are highly likely to accidentally kill your target
Is there a way to tell if a talent can be upgradeable or not? For example, I can't seem to upgrade the skill "aquapothecary" and "blade maven" but skills like the aficionados and shallow breath seem to upgrade
Can you do a video on the demo transfer? I want to make sure that if i get a talent up to level 2 or 3 it won't go back to level 1 or disappear once i transfer the monster over to the full game. I.e. if i had sizz affixionado added to a monster through synthesis will it disappear once it moves to the full game as it was not the base talent.
Everything will reset from the demo back to level 1 - nothing you can do about it. You only carry the monsters themselves over but they will be super low level and with no talents
For talent, when i want to repalce a talent with a talent book. I forget all the skill in the forgotten talent. Work same talent who just buff your stat like attack 4 and flame protection for example?
@flamedmahoganytable9749 I'll check but if you do reverse search and do choose no on the 2 yes/no questions it'll bring up alot of monsters and it'll tell you combos if you've seen them as well. It helped me alot.
How to speed up talent points? I only get like 3 points per level. I remember in the demo I was getting like 8-10 points per level. It's going to take FOREVER to get virtuoso talent trees
I am still uncertain on the scouting mechanics. I have a monster with high strength stats, which does less percent on the scouting than a monster with neither high strenght or wisdom stats. Could the monster rank also play a role?
It also depends on a few other factors, like the stats of your opponent, their rank, and story progression thing, like clearing ranks in the Maulosseum.
@@imortal333 Sure, but all those factors wouldn't explain how a monster with a higher strength stat than another monster with neither high strength nor wisdom stat does less percent, right?
I just wish those lazy ass devs would had finally improve the gameplay animations.I mean they STILL have only like 2-3 animations for all attacks, no unique attacks or breathzanimation like on the main dq games... its sad cuy I always found the unique attacks from the enemies soo cool and now when we can play them, they only have copy and paste attacks.. And they always show an animationn the a cut, then they show the impact. Instead of showing all in 1 SCENE just like in dqxi.. I mean this game cost 60 euros, as much as a main title. But they tread it like a side titöe where they dont need to improve the animations

A nod to the recruitment odds calculation in DQ5

Sites didn't get review copies/codes until release day.
So far this is sounding exactly like dragon quest monsters joker, I'm so pumped!
I was always curious how their exp share worked. I love that feature they added so its less grindy especially for newer players.
BRO! Fantastic video! I learned a lot 😆 I'm grateful you joined the DQ community! Your thorough videos and information is GOO-REATLY appreciated 😅
Thank you so much Papi
this was very useful. and i didn't know about the 25% and about the unlocking the talent tree. thanks for the the useful info.
I know this game isn't going to get the best reviews , but it looks right up my alley. Wished it wasn't 60$ but if I like the demo going to buy it.
Don't worry about reviews - enjoy the game and spread the word for those who might enjoy it ^^

There's a freaking crack in the doorway!? Oh boy, it's gonna be one of those games lol
Yep!!
are angered monsters still recruitable with meat by the end of the match?
Hello, I'm quite new to DQM and really wanted to get into it but I'm very lost concerning synthesizing and especially talents and what to go for or how to level them up and why
Do you have a beginner's guide on that or know of one please?
I already have a beginner synthesis guide you can check!
my problem with this game is i love to grind so i spend more time lvling then doing story content lol
When fusing talents it doesn't gave to be 50/50, just combite to total max talent level
Whats the deal with metal slimes? Am i missing something?
Merci je savais pas non plus que les monstres en dehors de l’équipe prenaient de l’xp
Btw, I have experienced this myself countless times, be very careful when using large monster to scout monsters, because they are highly likely to accidentally kill your target
How does breath Breath damage work? Which stat increases breath damage, I’m confused on how it works
Traditionally it does not scale with stats - but in this case levels perhaps!
@@HDHaZmY thanks for the info!
In DQ TACT, Breath moves scales with level but I don't think it works here
Traits like Frizzmeister boost fire breath damage
I doesn't scale I think, it's fixed damage so it's good for early game and drop off late game
@@chainl2618 so are breath skills overall useless? I wanted to use the drake slime and it has a breath skill. So I not use it
was that dq10 at the end of the video? is it coming to the america?
No it isn't but it's fully playable in english already through fan translations!
really confused with synthesis, can you infinitely fuse to eventually max out all stats/get infinite talent points?

Do you know how Can I obtain attack booster II? What monster has it?
You need to max out Attack Booster I then upgrade it to Attack Booster II on next synthesis!
Meat helps with monsters joining after the fight
Is honeyton a good place to start focusing on synthesizing?
I think do. I've done a good bit since getting here and even have a king slime now thanks to it.

What is the level of that monster. Also it seems there might be a connection if the monsters are in the same family - unconfirmed.
