    Thank you for sharing your story. I am still weighing my options too. If I may ask, when did you have a baby? Was it during your 3rd year or 5th year? I was just curious about the timeline in case of filing for a waiver thru a USC child.

      That's a good suggestion. Thanks. But in the meantime, i already have some videos that somehow brushed up on these things. Congrats on being placed!

    Hi ma'am enjoy watching your video, just wanna ask, what if you have accepted already the JO and sign your contract and just waiting for DS2019, you found out that you are pregnant, will the sponsor allow you to travel or they will cancel your contact.Thank you

      Congratulations, first of all! As for what the visa sponsor will say, I am not sure. But they do not discriminate against pregnant women. It is important to tell them as this is also a safety concern.

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว

    If your Visa says bearer doesn't apply 212e rule?? What does it mean

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว

      If that was not a mistake, then you are not required to serve the 2-year home residency requirement. This means you can continue to stay in the US as long as you have a valid visa.

    Hi ma'am! You mentioned about your friends who stayed in the US and applied for J1 waiver. Has anyone received approval or are they still waiting?

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว

      One of them went home 2 weeks ago. They still do not have news so they couldn't wait. It's more than a year since they started processing. I do not have news about my other batchmate who I worked with at the same school. I do not want to ask her but the last time we talked about it around December 2022, they're still waiting for the result. :) It's also been more than a year for them.

      @@Teachingandmore I asked you because, according to an attorney I just spoke with a few weeks ago, even if the hardship case is good, there is only a 50/50 likelihood that the J1 waiver would be approved since 2020. The Department of State cites the fact that we are aware of our J1 visa and that we must return to the Philippines to complete our two-year service term when our contract ends. I wanna hear good news though but still none since 2020 from my coteachers.

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lexielane21 That's why I did not apply. I have weighed it in my mind intently and have decided to just go home. 2 years is fast. The waiver application on the basis of "exceptional hardship" is costly, and uncertain. You don't know when you will get the result and whether or not the result is in your favor.

    Hi! I have a query regarding 2 year home country visit for those on J1 visa. For those who have taken this route and went back to home I will appreciate your input to following qs:
    1) Do you become eligible for green card after 2 year home country visit
    2) how easy was it to get the visa
    3)When you do get the visa is it sponsored through a job or government ( as in its compulsory to do a job or be in US for certain time after its acceptance)
    4) Do you have to do any job while you are in your home country
    5) Can you travel to other country during these 2 year?
    Thankyou!

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. No.
      2. How easy to get the J-1 visa? I got approved the first time. On the average it has 88.8% approval rate according to visagrader.com
      3. While complying to the 2-year requirement you do not have to do anything if you do not plan to go back to the US to do the same job again as in your first time. But if you plan to go back, you should be working full-time at the time of your application (if you are a teacher, then work as a fulltime teacher).
      4. Yes you can. But it will reduce the total number of months that you need to comply with. Each time you go out, instead of the days or months being counted toward the 2-year, then you need to extend more. They will ask you to turn in scanned copy of stamped pages of your passports as you apply to go back to the US.

      Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it. Just a query regarding the 1st question answer. As a J1 visa holder if I go back to my country and successfully complete 2 Yr stay there which visa would I become eligible for to go back to USA
