Grave is Abe. The Coffin she carries is a symbol of how she preserved Cinderella's body to make sure she can fix her in the future. Grave is also wearing the same Helmet that Abe used to hide her damaged face after the researches let her go after disecting her in the Ark.
I'd agree with that assessment of Abe being Grave.. maybe Abe was gravely injured but still had her brain in tact so she got turned into a Nikke. So far it's sounding like the 2nd generation of the Grims models had received the OverZone treatment too... im just mentally preparing myself for the potential depression that the 2nd anni story will bring... because at this point, I'm just about to become broken along with my Broken Queen, Dorothy... I cant wait to see what ShiftUp has in store for us!!
I think Old Tales must have occurred right before Red Ash, given the state of the Elysion research facility in Red Ash. Also dumb theories: What if Blanc and Noir is Mustang's attempt to replicate the performance of Hansel and Gretel to some extent? And what if the whole purpose of MMR Vocational School is meant to create Nikkes to replicate Old Tales?
The Devs said that the event is going to take place in-between Red Ash and Overzone. But it's possible that it will also show us things that happened before Red Ash. That's a very interesting theory. Because I think it's really suspicious, that whenever an Ark affiliated Nikke is suspected to be a Fairy Tale model, they're always from Tetra (Pretty, Ludmilla, Alice, Frima?). As for MMR Vocational School there's still a lot of things we don't know about that place, so I'm not really sure.
I kinda see where it would make sense for Abe to be Grave since Abe was able to repair and keep Cinderella alive all these years. It is also justifies her strong feelings about calling Cinderella by her original name instead of Anachiro since Abe was the creator/researcher in charge of creating the 2nd Gen of Grimm Models. Abe/Grave was probably insulted that her creation/her child was tainted and their name dragged through the dirt, so her wanting to "rewrite" their story makes for some really nice circumstantial evidence. Also, I do agree with Grave being seen as a reference to Cinderella's mother in the original tale. Since in that tale the mother does die but is also played a part in what saved Cinderella, just like the Nikke story.
I wonder if the main reason they based some of the mass produced Nikke off Abe was for her knowledge instead of combat. I mean having mass produced scientific researchers in whatever field is extremely ussful.

Tetra Nikkes were almost always made for entertainment, i shouldnt have to explain what that meant their "primary" use was, it wasnt combat. Should be noted Mustang has been the CEO for a very long time, while not stated explicitly in number of years it was hinted he has been in that position longer than humans are expected to live, and is the oldest of the big 3. Elysion Nikkes were mass deployed for combat, and its stated in the story some models were more desired than others, thus they were not deployed in even numbers. (EG reading between the lines, Soldier EG was one of the most deployed models. Mains story hits as to why Nikke's can become more and surpass being just a mass produced Nikke, when those Nikkes have a sense of self and individuality they slowly transform into themselves, as they see themselves. While they may not look as they did before becoming a Nikke, they turn into what they think they should be this includes physically. It is stated that this is a rare occurrence. *edit, added info on what was stated about Mustang.
Grave knowing what Vapaus is maybe because of Rapunzel not because she's Abe, Rapunzel is the one discovered the vapaus so we can say that Abe don't know about vapaus yet cause only the Goddess squad know what vapaus is during that time. maybe Grave is just modeled after Abe who knows.. we will see it soon.
Abe being Grave also explains how Grave ended up in the facility to begin with. If Grave was there along with the rest of Old Tales, it stands to reason that she was corrupted along with them, which in turn would explain why she was in the facility and why she was experimented on (corruption).
I think what’s also important to the VTC is what happened to it. It may have been kicked out before the ark was sealed away. I don’t think the VTC has anything to do with Eden but it could.

If Abe isn't already a Nikke a la Ether or Mana, she will be when she turns into Grave after watching the squad get corrupted from afar (Probably at the end of OT), not able to do anything about it. She'll work with the VTC and discover Vapaus, using that to cure Cinderella, with the hopes that she'll be able to at least subdue the rest of the squad, or take them out, because Cindy's the important one to Abe/Grave.

This event is going to be hype. Also I have the theory that the ark got the blue prints for the old gen two models from red ash, and remade them. Which would make the most sense.

I think that its just lazy writing for Grave/Abe to have the same face as Pinne and yet not be Pinne. I mean, they literally could have given her any other face and it wouldn't have been a problem. With Grave/Abe having the same face as Pinne, Dorothy and the rest of the goddess squad are going to flip when they finally get to see her and it would only bring about pointless emotional damage for the goddess squad.

The story is about a girl who became obsessed with a pair of Red Shoes, but the shoes has a curse that forced her to dance uncontrollably. She can't stop dancing and she can't take the shoes off, so she asked an executioner to cut off her feet... The story is very dark. And yup Hansel and Gretel are most likely twins. And I'm very excited to know more about them!

Turns out, Abe was already a Nikke who was turned into a Nikke so she didn’t have to sleep or eat, so she could work for longer.

Let's not forget that mass produced models lose most of their memories, so Grave not remembering her past life makes sense.

My current guess is that the VTC became Tetra. But I don't really have any solid proof right now.
