I’ve never heard such a reference to George, anything but ‘quiet’ in either his guitar playing or writing. As a singer, his inside harmony was indispensable. Extending the analogy further, it was George who objected most loudly to the excesses of his cohorts.
I am going for Brain surgery in 3 weeks, when they wheel me in for the procedure I want to hear this because if this works, it will be the sun coming for a new life for me-and if not its been a great run-NJ thank you for 40 years of sobriety-I love you so much.
My dad's service was yesterday, and each of these musicians were played under a montage of family photos while great stories of his life were shared by people who at first were timid to come up, but as the stories of music and laughter were shared, the line grew. It was amazing. Great send off. Love you, dad.
Perfect example of why Ringo was the best choice for drummer for the Beatles. Collins' drums overshadowed the acoustic guitars which are the heart of the song. Ringo didn't try to overpower the songs. He simply played what fit.
As you are probably aware being 1987 and 20 years since that lyric "It was twenty years ago today" I went to that concert wearing a Sgt. Pepper T-Shirt, in hope we would get a reunion with Paul, George and Ringo. We got two! And I admit we got "With a Little Help From My Friends" ath the end! Paul and Linda had a gold record printed on the back of the programme. Maybe it was planned, but it didn't happen. It was great to see the elusive George Harrison in concert!
Probably, but at that point Lynne and Harrison had been friends for a while and Lynne had been producing his Cloud nine album. Must have been great fun, though.
The one and only band I can think of where each member was truly the lead singer AND they created music that evolved and sounded completely different from the music preceding it. And they were prolific after they broke up.They were such trend-setters. The best band ever IMHO
Think about it: When A Hard Days Night was filmed, a young Phil Collins sat in the audience and watched them perform and here he is years later performing with George and Ringo... What a fuckin achievement in life !!!!❤❤❤
Como amo a The Beatles !!! George Harrison ❤❤.. amor y besos hasta el cielo !!! excelente músico !! 🎸🎼❤❤ Ringo en la bateria !!!! ❤️ excelente !!! ❤❤❤🎸🎹🎼 ❤❤ All loving you !!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
George looks very ill ....one fav songs ...always brings a smile to my face ...when all most simple song but always ... .spring ...and when all this shite over xxxx Love you George xxx
Sadly, the pair are quite literally killing the beautiful melodic groove of the song. I blame that on too much backbeat. Ringo on his own would know better.
He looked so nervous :) He said in a 1988 interview with ringo on aspel & co. “I was very nervous but happy to be around my old friends” (he didn’t exactly say that but it was something along those lines)
He had stage fright; they all have, Paul too; George started smoking again when these gigs appeared... Sf is so common - but it's just how you treat / deal with it; you'd need different mind technics, therapy, physical warming up, what ever helps.
Dan Fogelberg later performed this George Harrison song live in Atlanta in 1993 This song is on Dan Fogelberg's live CD Something Old... New... Borrowed... and Some Blues released May 2000-I have this CD - Brett Smith
Everybody has the big 80s hair going on, except for Jeff Lynne, who has looked the same since like 1973. Cool live rendition, though it would’ve sounded better with a string quartet instead of a horn section.
I love how into the playing he gets at around 2:15, starts doing variations on what he recorded and then forgets to go back to the hi hat at the start of the next verse, so great to see
Ringo: So you think you better than me have you DONE a childrens TV show??? Phil: uhhhh no have you?? Ringo: Get out Ringo: going life Phil: going live Both: Not bad not bad *goes have red wine with Paul
Am I the only one who smiles a teary little smile when they cut to Ringo playing the drum pickup at the beginning of the song?
@@cowsongs nope
I wish George Harrison had an MTV Unplugged Blues Acoustic session like Clapton had ! 🤩
YES !
One of my favorire songs of the Beatles!
Mine too! I also love" Something", from George Harrison!!!
For the so-called 'Quiet Beatle', he didn't make much noise, but he made a lot of outstanding music!
Agreed
I’ve never heard such a reference to George, anything but ‘quiet’ in either his guitar playing or writing. As a singer, his inside harmony was indispensable. Extending the analogy further, it was George who objected most loudly to the excesses of his cohorts.

Wtf are you on about you penis, Collins is playing secondary drums and his kit is underneath Ringos in sound if you actually listen 😂😂😂
That fault lies with the sound engineer. He put the drums more in the foreground.
I think I would have had Collins do more a light symbols bit ! This song "floats" it's not a "driven tune"
@@wulfclaw4921 I agree. Best version I've seen was George and Paul Simon.
Phil collin’s👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻awesome!!
George Harrison , Ring Star , Jeff Lynn and Phil Collins. ....awesome mix

Wow, great to see Jeff Lynne playing and singing "Here comes the sun". He must have enjoyed it a lot as the Beatles were his youth heroes.

As a huge Beatles fan I always smile when I think one of my most favourite Beatles song wasn’t written by Lennon or Macartney
McCartney.
George was the hidden gem
2 of the greatest drummers ever in complete synchronicity
They're not in sync. You can hear the flams. Phil Collins should have sat this one out. He had no business being there.
@@herbie747the flams sound good 🤷♀️
Thank you George!
I was at that concert in 1987. It's a shame there isnt a better quality video of this song

Great performance! All great performers but not one trying to outshine the other, just perfect harmony !
Here comes the Sun, greetings from Finland. For us it woke up this morning around 4 am. Here comes The Sun.
It's awesome. Ringo and Phil are killing it❤
Sadly, the pair are quite literally killing the beautiful melodic groove of the song. I blame that on too much backbeat. Ringo on his own would know better.
My favorite version of this song
When I die this is my funeral song I know that sounds sad but it’s because I love it so much.
I got the same picture the moment this video started playing!
Para mí que soy español y a mi país eres un puto maestro! Tu música es un regalo divino
Ringo looks so happy :)
Ik technically you can’t have 2 favorite Beatles but George and ringo are my favorite :)
Krásná písnička ❤
Wow what is this, Jeff Ringo and Phil and George Best ever and today comes the sun, thx borther ✌️ for this video
And Elton John on piano.
The best music from Beatles!!!
One of the best songs Here Comes The Sun
El mejor Beatles.hombre sencillo con Humildad. Y aceptando a Dios en su corazon. Siempre brillara la luz perpetua para el.
Thanks for this upload. It is a wonderful dream for me to see Jeff and George singing together. Two of the sexiest men to ever grace a stage.
