Excellent tutorial video.just swapped my lads and took about 20 mins. Only thing I did do was pack out the gap on the middle 10mm bolt with some waste paper to stop it dropping
thanks, I managed to replace mine in 30 minutes. Especially for the tip to look out for the middle bolt, as it can drop in the door. I folded a piece of paper and put it below the bolt as a kind of platform the bolt can drop on. Also put a piece of tape between the bolt and the wrench so bolt would not drop that easily when screwing it back in :)
Thanks so much for this video! Great advice and managed to fix mine with the help of my Dad as well :) He had an idea for the 10mm nut that might fall through, he slipped in a bit of thin cardboard underneath so it wouldn't fall into the door. Thanks again for a great video! :)

Thanks for posting this, it helped a lot. I did end up dropping the bolt into the door though (what a tw*t that one was 🙄). It was all pretty easy up to that point. Paid £25 off ebay for ours. 😊
@@DABDIY How did you retrieve the bolt as a matter of interest? I was going to buy another but of course I have to buy a pack of 400 and not just one (okay, not 400, just 10 😂) but I only need one. Mind you, I might end up dropping them all into the door 🤦♀
Great! I needed to know if the colour-coded cap would snap onto an aftermarket replacement. Has anyone else managed this like in the video, and if so, where did you buy your replacement mirror / what brand was it?
@DABDIY cheers bud. Got mine yesterday from ultimate styling online and it fits well. Thanks for your video, it actually really helped me instal it well apart from losing one nut which went in the door. Didn't bother to open the door panel to get it out since the mirror wing is solidly attached with two nuts. 🤣
I’m not sure just yet, haven’t needed to do that. I know a whole mirror replacement unit can be bought very cheap. When I had to fix my near side mirror, I just replaced the whole unit, cheaper and easier. There’s a video on that too.
Only just watched your video and I've got to replace passenger door mirror on an Aygo can you tell me where you got the plastic tool used for unclipping the cover. Thanks.
I will be opening it up, I promise! Haven’t gotten round to it yet, life kinda got in the way a little. I also want to investigate the possibility of adding heating elements to the mirrors when I do open it up.
I didn’t, but funny you should mention that! I have today been installing something on my mirror caps (video to come) and my counter sinking tool has permanently become a part of my car now 🤦🏼♂️

I dropped a bolt not long ago when I installed the indicator mirror caps, nightmare to retrieve the bolt!

I used a wire fish and a magnet, then jiggled the door until it moved

My gf bought aygo, same problem but on ds. I also sold my car, so while I’m looking for my next car I’m driving aygo and it’s brilliant runabout.
They’ve got so much character, haven’t they? I love my little bug, it makes a great weekend car, rather than driving the Volvo.

They can be picked up anywhere like local auto parts store, eBay, amazon etc and they’re call trim removal tools.

I used a 1/4” ratchet with an extension bar and a 10mm socket.
Mirror is white how to change to.white
It’s shown in the video, caps are interchangeable
£25 quid now but still worth it

For the price of a new unit, I’d fix by replace, rather than fix by repairing the existing unit.
