Love this channel. I have both Ocea and Grappler, which are similar in specifications. I treat them as 30lb line with a little extra in reserve if you need it. Knot strength is reliable, so I know I can push it past the default drag setting, and 95% of the time, turn the fishes head away from structure without breaking.
Very surprising to see this line not reach its rsted test weight. I would also love tl see a video testing different knots for breaking strain! You have to proper equipment unlike other videos on youtube. Would also be interesting to see a 15 20 30 and 40 wrap fg. See if more wraps is stronger thant fewer. Thanks for you hark work mate. Im trying to get sample of line for you to test. Do you want to do videos on the same line in different test weights?
The knot testing is something i have been considering, however i only really ever use the FG so i think for me to tie anything else and then test it may be a little unfair. The FG wrap test is on the cards though, i am curious on this also as i have seen mixed reports. I have always used 20 but i am curious if more of less wraps changes anything. I have also found a few other things about the FG that can make it significantly stronger or weaker. Maybe a video on that would be worthwhile based on my findings. In regards to your question on the same lines in different strengths, absolutely. One of the main reasons i started this work was to get a true measurement on diameters and breaking strains of as many different lines as possible. Some may never make a dedicated video, as who wants to see 15 tests on power pro (for example) of different braking strains but all the data is listed on the website so people know what a certain line breaks at and its diameter.
@thelinelaboratory I truly want tk know how the manufacturers measure their lines. Would they be thinner under load? Say load an 8lbs braid to 8lbs and measure it if that's possible. Have you ever measured line after the breaking strain tests?
One thing I’ve started to do is calculate tensile strength based on published specs and compare to the 3-3.5 GPa possible from UHMWPE fibers. Some of these calculate to over twice what is practical from any existing fiber. But the actual specs are spot on what one might expect from a good braid.
@OneWayTraffic your absolutely right. Taking the published specs and doing the maths can suggest it's way stronger than the raw materials can ever be. I have heard that braiding can increase the overall strength as your introducing resistance between all the touching fibers which means that the max force it can take may be more than raw unbraided fibers. I cannot say for sure if this is the case until I study it more but it sounds plausible.
This channel needs to explode...top quality content💥
Thanks man appreciate it 👌
@@thelinelaboratory keep it up bro💯

Thanks for the great test.
I don't know how much it costs, but it seems better than daiwa jbraid grand.

I have measured the diameter under tension and there was zero difference.

Please do Fluorocarbon fcx Asari , you the best!
Interesting results.
I hope this expensive line will be in better places 🤷♂
For a somewhat 'premium' jigging line, those results are extremely disappointing...I'd love to see if their pe 1 to 2 are similar to these results.
I sent him pe 2 grappler a month ago so should be coming soon
I usually use `Alberto Knot` and I'm wondering if it's inferior to `FG Knot`?
Yes it is greatly inferior to the fg knot
"Gaston huelva" knot is good too, easier than FG but probally superior
Pls pls JOF test 🙏🙏🙏
I do have some JOF and will test it soon.
"captain dynamic pe x8" can you test please
He can only test what he gets so send samples >15m I think. Better ask first, go to his website.
I was expecting Shimano to be much better then some 'noname' Aliexpress braids, what a disappointment.
Please do Shimano Grappler ✊🏿
Grappler✊🏿

Its coming mate 👌
Let's try to get that one out next video eh? Potential spoiler alert.
@@thelinelaboratory 🥺😥☹️
Wow it's the most expensive one Here in India hmm I had too much hope for it. It disappointed
