    John Gotti is a great example of how self snitching always existed, this generation just has more methods to do so.

    • @themadrapper101
      @themadrapper101 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess the entire mafia were snitches then because they were all being watched for years. Big Paul, Gotti.. Before it went down in 85 they were both about to get locked up and that's before the "self snitching" tapes were recorded in 89-90. They were all being watched it was a matter of time. Gotti isn't here to tell his side your siding with the biggest most famous snitch to ever live and he's a great story teller and at exaggerating to make himself look like the hero of story

    John Gotti almost did get killed after he did that. They put a bomb in his car but one of his soldiers ended up being the one that was in it and it blew up. Apparently "Chin" Galante and the head of the Lucchesse family at the time (forgot his name) were furious about it because John never got the okay from the commission. However, once they missed their shot at John, they got over it. Paul Castellano wasn't a well liked guy on top of that either.

    • @maryconn1
      @maryconn1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yeah they were trying to get John and Frankie Decicco but they only got Frankie Decicco. The other guy who was mistaken for John lived. And the luchesse bosses at that point I believe were Vic amuso and Gaspipe casso. I think Tony ducks was in prison

      The ones who pulled the trigger suffered not the Genovese leadership that played Caponigro into killing him. Angelo Bruno was killed because the Genovese wanted a piece of the action in Atlantic City. When Carlo Gambino died Angelo lost his support on the Commission. Plus, Bruno wasn’t a violent person i mean he was nicknamed the gentle Don but he was greedy same as Castellano and his soldiers was starving under him so they made a move.

    Angelo Bruno was an unsanctioned hit, Altho Caponigro thought Tieri was boss and Tieri told him that he had the backing of the Commission.
    Then Caponigro was called to NY where he thought he was going to be recognized as the boss of Philly. Instead, he walks into a room with Tieri, Bobby Manna, Tony Salerno, and Chin. They seat him and Chin immediately starts grilling him about why he killed Bruno.
    Immediately after Caponigro was whacked, Manna took over Caponigro’s Jersey rackets, they backed Testa, then Scarfo….then Chin told Scarfo he had to give up a piece of Atlantic City.

It's hard to tell in writing sometimes, but, if not, my comment is because Italians have been "adopted" into whiteness for a while now, even rewarded with contracts with various cities for legitimate business when most Black people were locked out. Everyone knew who he was but you had to prove it. Shit the mob was so powerful back then they had the cops throw a witness out the window who was supposed to testify against Albert. He was also publicly executed to send a message just like Castellano. So even the great Don Carlo killed his way to the Top!
