In my former life, I sat down with John Gotti in a negotiation and won. Everything I learned about negotiations, I learned during sit downs and this particular scene in the movie Gotti really showed how a real Cosa Nostra sit down is done. How would you do in a high stakes mafia negotiation?
Was Gotti the most authentic Mob Movie ever made??

The scene where Dellacroce walks into the bar and tells Gotti just how close he came to getting killed was my favorite in the whole film. The look on Assante's face...it was like you could see that realization pass over him when he finally realized that he WASN'T untouchable.

Especially when Dellacroce tells him that if Don Carlo had given the order for Gotti to be whacked, he would’ve carried out his bosses orders. Even as hard as he thought for him, if the boss had said, no, he still would have followed procedure. It just shows how even your best friends are willing to turn on you at a moments notice. Really trying to drive in the point. If only he had listened.

Even more haunting, as much as Neil loved John, when he said “and you would go” with a smirk. The Life was more important than anything

@@Ruggid111 I liked the movie too, i would say its up there with Goodfellas and a little above Casino.
(I liked the first half of Casino, however my biggest problem with it is the second part, after he fires the kid whose uncle is a high ranking sheriff or something, the movies phasing takes a steep dive and DeNiro´s character goes from hero to zero in no time at all.
Here i liked Goodfellas better as the decline where more gradual)

I loved the quote where Neil told Gotti got a pass and Neil says "But if Don Carlo had said, you gotta go. I would have come here today with these two zips...and you would go..." and the acting was just so real and truly amazing. Truly well done. I think it shows having influence is a wonderful negotiation tactic. Neil showed respect to the Boss and because he shows respect and put his own reputation on the line, he got Gotti the pass. Which is a huge victory turn around for a uphill battle.

Ah many many thanks Mr Franzese. I think it was one of your videos a few months back where I learned a gem from you. You said so to speak in a situation where there may be a group negotiating, brain storming etc. Let everyone have their say. Really listen.. Always be the last one to say anything, it depends, it may be best not to speak at all. To keep one's counsel. Not to react. Never ever say a bad word against anyone even if you feel bad about them. That really stood out to me. I will never forget it. Again thank you. I have learned so much in these last few months since I've been here. Have a great week ahead. God's blessings and favour to you and your family ❤️

It was all done so perfectly, the time period in NYC, the music. And it didn't glamorize as much as it showed the treachery and in the end , no winners. 24 years later and this movie still holds up today. Great Video!

I would to hear your opinion on a classic “Once Upon A Time In America” I think it came out in 1984, starring James Woods, Joe Pesci, Tuesday Weld and Robert De Zero.

When a guy like Anthony Quinn/delacroce tells you to SHUT UP!!! You shut up and listen. The expression on assante's face and eyes is brilliant. A guy who wasn't afraid of nobody. But when Mr. Neil hollard at him he got scared and listened. I love it gr8 scene

This movie is perfect but the only thing that would make it better would be to replace the guy playing Paul Castellano with Chazz Palminteri's Paul Castellano from Boss of Bosses.

I like this very much, It shows heart pounding life decisions that had to be made; You either going to live or you going to die. No "ifs" or "buts" about when that decision is made there's no turning back. Gotti was extremely lucky and grateful that Neil pleaded for his life to be saved or otherwise no more Gotti. This shows a lot of honesty of how things were done during the yesteryear days you followed the rules or received punishment for it. I like the content on this channel very much, Keep it coming.

Another great sit-down Michael. I've always tried in a negotiation situation listen intently to the other party and showed them I was interested in what they had to say. I knew what I wanted on my side, I tried to solicit what their bottom line was or what they would settle for. You can never go off halfcocked. No pun intended. Sometimes there only two languages known, english and profane.

Thanks for sharing, this movie was one of the 1st I watched on the mob. The acting was immense and as I guy from Manchester UK who knows nothing about the mob felt real and some of the scenes scared me. The movie also took me to NYC and Mulberry Street, and also to Sparks Steak House, just to be on those streets put a chill down my back. I’ve also read a book called La Costa Nostra, this a great read about the origins of the mafia in Italy, and there men of honour.
