I don't buy killing is like going to War , you wear a uniform , you have battles who you know who the enemy is , not so in a Mob Hit, it's secretive, deceptive , you lie , and deceive the victim , it's not like going to war.

Agree with Mike 100%. As a combat veteran, if you want to talk/brag about the work you've put in, then there's something wrong with you. You're either a psychopath/sociopath or you're making a cry for help because you need to get shit off your chest. Been around a lot of guys that killed and a lot of guys that talk about it and they all fall into one of those two categories, even if they don't realize it. Taking another human life is a weight that hits the soul of a normal person, no other way to describe it. A normal person doesn't want to take another person's life even if it is justifiable.
I also agree about people that choose to live a certain life. The military is obviously not the same as the Mob, but when you swear an oath to live a certain lifestyle that includes all the consequences that go with it. I never ask for handouts or discounts as a veteran because I chose to live that life. I've never felt that I deserved more than any other citizen just because I decided that the Army was the career for me. While losing friends is painful and tragic, we all swore to that life and to take a soldier's risk, just like our enemies did when they picked up a rifle to fight against us. The more I think about it as I get older, the more I realize that it's just the tragedy of young men being goaded/tricked into killing each other for the benefit of old elitists. Whether those elitists are religious/tribal leaders in a Third World country, or suited politicians in the US, it's all the same. None of them are out there risking their necks or pulling triggers, they send idealistic, stupid young men to do it for them.

It's always been amazing that 'wise guys' have been glamorized on TV and in the movies. They are and have always been nothing but thugs and murderers. If you look up to and admire these people, you're deficient in intelligence and compassion. The only 'excuse' I ever heard offered was that they only kill their own kind. This of course is not true as women, children, and innocents have often been their targets as well.
