Great review. That stiff part of the hose is actually a strain relief because it is an entry point into the vacuum. It is meant to be that way to prevent the hose from weakening and eventually tearing.
I not that long ago got one, mine is the Onyx model, I already enjoy using it, I just ordered some bags for it and I can't wait to see the full performance of it.
The black version of this is called the Onyx and they are only available at your local brick and mortar Sebo dealer.. you cant get them online if you were trying to do that..The onyx line has the 10 year warranty too, but either way you have a great machine, these are very popular. At 3.18 it looks like that bit is threaded into the handle so thats how it is.
