- Next in our Mclaren 720 vlog series, this episode we detail how the Mclaren uses the aerodynamics of the car to both generate power and cool the engine as well as a couple of other neat tricks used in the design.
I enjoyed the video. Being a gear head I already knew the theory, but I didn't know how Mclaren did it. Some brilliant engineering there.
nice vid. unlike most people, i am interested in how things work.
It'd be excellent to see a collaboration between you and Iain Tyrrell: Old School meets New School. You're an excellent presenter, BTW!
Very informative, can't wait to see what next for this car... Well done
Can you please move over to this side of the pond.
Bravo
Loving the lock-down hair. Once the exhausts are done and the Virus stuff lets up, I wouldn't mind coming over to Silverstone to have a look and listen.
As always all practical info .ThxJohn.
Great explanation ' and informative.
Love your videos! I have a 675LT myself, I did have a 720 before but I enjoy the character of the 675LT a bit more.
Deffo with you on those headlamp "eye sockets" John, they don't do it for me either. Not sure about the Bob Flemming impressions during the video 😉🤣
Just subscribed. This is so interesting being the gear head I am. Looking forward to your future episodes. Curious if you or your subscribers know of any independent McLaren shops, similar to Thorney, but in the US?
Great vid. 👍🏻
I believe Mercedes f1 engines split turbo functions to Front and back of engine to reduce heat soak - great interesting vid John - luv my 650s
Another great video. You’re sounding a bit like Bob Flemming from the Fast Show there John!
Chris Mcintosh watch out for those badgerlets
Arse
Please do one of these for the 570 !
Will do
Hah was going to ask the same thing!
I wonder if the 570 has similar air flow?
i second that as i'm looking for one
Ok heat exchangers ie radiators work on pressure differential, the 720 has a clever intake where does it exit? Forward of the wheel arch? If so that’s an area of low pressure....the idea goes back to the original LOTUS Europa which uses the right front wheel
Can you do a video on the doors not opening or window not dropping problems in the previous generarion?
Interesting, thanks
Wish you'd video the sound of the exhaust
Lots of videos of the exhaust on our website
