Cheers! I love it. We have a second throttle body kit coming out that has massively improved the package as a whole. It has far better cruise manners and the throttle control is greatly improved. I love it!
Hi lads, I'm a short dude (5'7 to be exact) and I'm currently having a nightmare finding seat mounts that work for someone of my less than average stature - I bought the car with sparco buckets and the previous owner has mounted them so low I will need a booster seat to drive it as is😂. Any seat mount recommendations for a small guy?
We install used Eaton M45s from the Mini Cooper S. This has a 17% reduction pulley, I think it makes about 9PSI from memory. I'll be able to check the logs once I get an SD card for the ME442 ;)
I thought the same. If you have swapped back I would like to know why because I have a M45 in my workshop waiting to be installed into my 1.6. The poor MX5 cant understand why dad has not ordered a kit yet but mum want's her kitchen first. :)
Back to the M45. After doing all the body work I wanted to just be able to drive it again. We had found out what we needed to change to make the Rotrex Kit better, and any further development could be done on an engine out of a car. The M45 has so much grunt down low, which makes it fun on the road, and the sound is so much better than a Rotrex in my opinion. It won't make as much power, but it's pretty hilarious as it is.
I've got a US-Spec '94 base 1.8L that's been rebuilt with forged internals to support a rotrex C30-94 unit. Any chance that your map (base map) is available? I've got an ME442 as well.
Nice! ME have basemaps available from their Meite software. A turbo basemap will be enough to get you to a tuner. Leave the belt off if putting your foot down is too much to resist 😆
@@BOFIRacingTV Thank you for the quick reply. That's what I've used (the turbo basemap). Hoping to get a minor coolant leak fixed tomorrow (coolant reroute). Then, it's off to the dyno for some sessions for idle, warmup and overall general tune.
BOFI Racing Got a heatsoak induction for the noise on crossover, and got an unsilenced midpipe for exhaust rasp and maybe +1hp Dont think many people bother with cams on the K series the standard ones are good for maybe 260hp?+
@@seany8787 cams aren't all about hp tho.. people don't change them to add more hp. They're usually swapped ot to change the torque curve or more importantly raise the rpm limit that the engines capable of. We know the stock cams can do about 260-270bhp, but depending on the cams fitted, you could have much better mid range torque, or a 7500rpm redline 😉
They're good, came out of the same factory as Car Make Corns, so an absolute bargain if you look at the US prices. I had to cut down the Skidnation side mounts to get them to fit due to the shallow design.

Question.. why stay with megasquirt when for around the same money you could go for a link G4, AEM, motec or ecumasters, which as we know (well us tuners know anyway).. come with much better software, much more user friendly and a lot more customisation options, mods and addons?
@@mtechautomotive others actually have more features? And no they might not be direct plug and play, but plenty of them have loom adapters to get past this. As I said tho, the software, userbility and logging outweigh the ME442. Not sure why I said megasquirt 🤣 thats the old mx5 tuner in me 🤦♂️

With the second throttle body the supercharger is quiet at cruise and screams like a banshee at full attack 👻

It was last dyno'd at 196BHP on a hub dyno. Has had cams since. Not been on the scales to see what it weighs though!

How are you finding the m2 motorsport seats? I was considering these for the daily but was wondering about comfort on longer trips.
