    What's up guys and happy 2021!! I'm pumped to finally get started on modifying the NB, and there's no better place to start than with a standalone. This is already a really fun car and I can't wait to see where the build goes. If you guys have any questions regarding the installation of the ME ECU drop them down below, see you guys in the next one! (It will be less than a month this time I promise loll)
    Additional notes for install (let me know in the comments if you think of anything):
    1) For all UK models, the ECU is under the passenger floorboard, so access is much easier.
    2) For improved text scaling (mine is funky in the video)
    ----------
    The following steps should improve the scaling of the MEITE software in windows 10 and the presentation of tables and data.
    1. Right click the MEITE icon and click properties.
    2. Click compatibility tab
    3. Click change high DPI settings
    4. Tick the box that says "Override high DPI scaling behaviour"
    5. In the drop down menu, select "system",
    6. Press OK. Reopen the MEITE software.
    ----------
    3) Regarding datalogging - The 442 has on-board logging. This means the ECU is logging to the on-board SD card any time the key is in the "run" position and you can extract those logs from the ECU, which are time stamped. This is an EXTREMELY helpful feature, for those times where the engine does something unexpected but you were not manually recording a datalog.

    I've been using the ME442 in my turbo MX5 for about half a year now, idle tuning etc is actually pretty easy and it starts up almost as fast as stock. I'm always happy to send my tunes if you need some inspiration :)

    • @MikevanEsch
      @MikevanEsch 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Zio Peraza what kind of help do you need?

    • @MikevanEsch
      @MikevanEsch 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Zio Peraza If you are in Closed loop PWM idle, make sure the min and max duty of the valve are "effective" also the Exit idle duty should be close to the idle duty so it falls back properly.
      I have P=0.1, I=75 and D=0.
      Conditions are Min RPM=500, Max RPM=1500
      Regarding the lean idle, check how much the car has to trim lambda when falling back in idle and change your VE table accordingly.

    • @MikevanEsch
      @MikevanEsch 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Zio Peraza snipboard._io/Snr5xz._jpg
      Remove the underscores

    • @MikevanEsch
      @MikevanEsch 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Zio Peraza coincidentally mine is turbo aswell so it would be a good approximation

    • @MikevanEsch
      @MikevanEsch 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Zio Peraza So basically Min and Max are the values that actually change the idle. if for example the rpm stays the same between 55 and 65, your effective PWM is 55 since more doesn't do anything. My min/ max is 18/35 but those values are different for everyone. What is your exit idle duty, best choice is to choose a value close to the actual idle PWM (so once it's idling at about 950 rpm, look at the idle pwm duty and round it off)

    I know it's an older video but.... no, you do not need a wideband to tune the car if you take it to a tunner. They will hook up the wideband from their dyno usually... a nice to have but certainly not a requirement if you go with the 221

    • @TheCarPassionChannel
      @TheCarPassionChannel  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@IrishGaucho You absolutely need a wideband in any relatively modified car. A one-and-done 2-hour tune by some guy with a dyno will not cover all the tuning needs a car has, you want to be able to monitor the tune over time and also use AFR's for troubleshooting issues. Without a wideband you also won't be able to use ANY closed-loop fueling features on the ECU.

No i read that to change this, also need to change inmobilizer .. sice keys are married with ecu and immobilizer,
    How then you put a new ECU (this ME442) and not change immobilizaer, my car is NB 2003 1.6 MK2
    I want to delete this check engine the easy, fast and cheap way possible.
    If ill buy a ecu then perhaps this one you recommend on this video, does NOT need to remove immobilizaer, or do i neeed to go for my OEM one ??
    Anyway hope this is clear.. if not let me know.. thanks and amazing channel !!!

    After base map, is it not possible to use autotune option to make the map better while driving? Or without proper dyno tune you cant get it to run as it should?

    Did you add an IAT or are you still using the stock MAF?

      MAF is now deleted, and used the stock IAT, but I'm having some inconsistent fueling issues which I think might be related to it. I will be swapping out to the GM IAT soon
