Those who grew up with Mike's era like myself were so lucky and privileged.they build up todays heavyweight era but its all smoke and mirrors in comparison .the buzz and electricity around Mike's rise to the top was truly incredible and a golden period in history that those who lived through it will never forget and thats why mike gets so much love and admiration today.tyson and Holyfield will always be rated higher than wilder and fury by the fans and its because the fans who watched their era's know and remember their greatness.

Impeccable footwork that allowed him to reposition quickly and land a devastating punch. Underrated very fast hand speed. But, the most fascinating thing about Mike’s boxing skills is his ability to create punching scenarios. Mike could set punching combinations offensively or defensively. Pure boxer.
Tyson's up's and down's lawsuits and personal come backs are what make him one of the greatest men of my generation. You don't have to live a perfect life you just have to learn from your mistakes
After Kevin Rooney was gone, no one knew how to PROPERLY train Mike... Which is vital for that particular style of fighting (The peek-a-boo Catskills style).

Holyfield and him was going to fight after the Douglas fight, but then Mike went to jail. Lewis at the time was KOed badly by Mikes training partner, then Mike was in or currently in jail around that time. A prime mike is a dangerous fight for anyone and I personally think he had the potential to be one of the greatest. My favorite boxer though personally.
You just don't realise how strong his legs are. The way he changes body elevation from fully standing to a deep squat and back up again is astonishing.

Like many of the people commenting on this video, Tyson is my favourite fighter of all time. Raw, explosive power and amazing movement. When a Tyson fight was announced you were guaranteed entertainment. From the build up, to the right walk, the fight itself and the post fight interviews - Mike delivered the full package . However, as time goes by I no longer believe that Mike should feature in the greatest ever boxer conversion, for a few reasons. First of all Mike had a brilliant career, you can’t take that away from him and he will never be forgotten in boxing history, it’s just a damn pity that his flame burned out so soon. Victories over Berbick, Holmes and Spinks rank as his most notable wins inside of the square circle - all in devastating fashion I should add, but when you take a closer look at Mikes record you can see that he was paired up with a lot of below par opponents too. Cus De Matos passing definitely affected Mike but great champions evolve and overcome, sadly Mike couldn’t. Losses against Douglas and Holyfield showed that Tyson was beatable, especially when you stand up to him - which brings Mikes heart into question also! Further losses against Lewis, Williams and finally McBride would see the curtain come down on his career. An extremely talented fighter he was but the GOAT I’m afraid he was not - not even close! That title stays with Ali.
