I just saw him play Jafar. He was incredible. How does a guy end up that talented where he can sing, dance, act, and be funny to such a degree? He is amazing. You see so many unbelievable singers on broadway or incredible dancers, but it’s not always completely clear which tap dancer has an incredible voice or which singer can bust a move. This guy can do it all.
Look I loves these, best part of your channel, but the bright lights and jump cuts take away from how great the video is, i feel like the rehearsal space with the natural light is the most effective way and we can focus on the dancing :)
He is one of those dancers that really light up the stage (or the screen in this case). he is so so happy to be dancing and you can see how much he enjoys what he's doing. amazing.
Darcy Sloan strong, manly, grounded one minute and then floating like a feather the next- sheer joy in his eyes. This is the kind of dancer I love to watch!
Please please, can we just see these amazing talents DANCE?! This editing looks like it was done on MacBook photobooth. So distracting. The performers deserve more than this.

I love these videos but PLEASE stop this editing! I filmed an edited better at age 12, seriously. Half of the video are those weird comic style effects and completely useless cuts, which are a waste of time because you can‘t see any of the choreography! I think we would really enjoy a wider frame, where you can see the entire body, in a nice lit studio with a plain background. If you have any nice closeups from body parts with a nice movement or a beautiful facial expression, you can cut them in with clean cuts, not too many of them and only for a few seconds. Perfect would be cutting to the beat of the music!

Hey Maci! Such a great question. I’ve never been in a show as long as Aladdin(coming up on 5 years now!) It’s a different discipline all together. You have to recreate the show at the same level every night as you did when the show first opened. Luckily, a Broadway show is a living and breathing thing and you can always find new things in your performance. A new inflection for a line you say, doing the same dance step but thinking about it differently, really digging into those parts of the show that you really enjoy, these are all ways I try to keep my performance as fresh as possible every night. And it sure helps that people love Aladdin and it makes it easier to perform a show night after night for 5 years when you know you are bringing them joy and that they can leave the show a little bit brighter than when they came in. Sounds a little corny maybe lol, but I hope I shed some light!.
I think the idea is Broadway Gypsies. Dancers who support the likes of Sutton Foster & Charlotte D'Amboise. Giving these people the spotlight is what makes the dance resume unique and interesting.
Showcasing Broadway gypsies can always continue, wasn’t suggesting that stop; nor asking for other Broadway stars whose basic moves are promenading across the stage and are supported by gypsies behind them. I specifically suggested dancing stars who have great moves comparable to these gypsies. Don’t forget, D’Amboise & Foster started as gypsies too and warrant a retrospective of their resume from their ensemble days to stardom. As they say, once a .... always a ....
patimuse I see your point but that seems like a different series. Altho they started off as chorus members both of them were playing leading roles within five years of their Professional debuts. I think this series reminds me of “a chorus line “the idea that most dancers on Broadway are in a somewhat anonymous line and this series and the show is a celebratory of them and pulls them out of anonymity. As does this series. Although I am a huge Broadway fan an aficionado and professional you director and choreographer there’s all kinds of minutiae and trivia that I can relay to my students. I only heard of one of these dancers before and that’s Jess LeProtto. I’ve noticed this series does not get a ton of views. So who knows if it will last? Maybe if Sutton Foster was showcased the viewership would go up? I’d definitely watch it!

This SERIES can continues highlighting the little-known talented dancers, but this CHANNEL can also supplement this gypsies series with dancing stars who might attract more views and hence the gypsies series has a nice complementary companion - again, was never advocating overtaking the series, just suggesting star names like if you suggest any anonymous names. Even A Chorus Line had a featured dancer like Cassie, a "failed star" having her star turn was probably well known on Broadway like Donna McKechnie was already an established talent and not so anonymous; plus dancing stars are very rare on Broadway so why not showcase them along with their fellow dancers/gypsies. A treat to viewers: regular stars just talk about their career, but dancing stars can 5-6-7-8 thru their resume; the icing to this series.
patimuse I basically sed the same thing: go ahead and profile stars but keep the gypsy format. I’m highly some of the chorus line I’ve directed it twice. Other Cassie is a stand out, The show is still a valentine to gypsies. And Cassie is begging to be a gypsy again and she’s run out of options.
