    I had no idea the surface types had a number ID. Thank you very much for the quick tutorial, i had been trying to figure it out for a whole day but was stumped.

    Great! I was just trying to figure this out myself.

    The puppet can be teleported. I must be misunderstanding the issue, because it is so simple to teleport the puppet, yet you say it can't be done and Mr PhD can't figure it out...
    Just stamp a teleporter on the puppet or in the chip and teleport to the tag you want. Have to destroy the teleporter or you won't he able to move.

      You cant stamp anything on the puppet we dont have access to it. He was talking about the All Hallows Community Haunted Room build. So, no you cannot use a teleporter on the player character in the All Hallows event. It cannot be done.

    This is a great tutorial, the only thing missing for my custom puppet are footprints for solid grounds and splashes/ripples for water. Could you do a tutorial on that too?
    I would appreciate it

      I did a tutorial on footprint stickers dreamskool.wordpress.com/2019/10/25/make-and-use-stickers-plus-using-footprints/
      But I guess I would need to work out a way of doing it if the foot strikes dont work (as seen in this tutorial).

      if you or someone you know produces music, "vst plugins" are the conventional format.
      there is a vst plugin called "water vst" which is free to d/l on kvraudio ("the" vst site so its safe). its a parametric synthesizer you can play water splashes of any size, waves, all sorts of sounds on, with a keyboard.
      i have a bunch of other foley type vst but that one doesn't take much expertise to use.
      i would offer to make the sounds for you and the group, but i program on XP, and my XP hardware is too venerable to use. maybe someday steinberg will ease up on forcing everyone to buy new 64 bit products instead of the free 32 bit ones i made for everyone. (32 bit will run on 64 bit hardware, but they like to tell you its bad so you'll buy new ones)

    okay, i'm sending you a collab reuest from noraleader and i hope you will accept it.
    i have spent at least 80 hours since i got dreams, just, trying, to make, a stock, puppet, for future use, where the joints are all symmetrical and reasonably proportioned. but, every time i do it, which takes hours of repositioning connectors and editing sculpts, something goes drastically wrong.
    i just spent three days on my latest attempt, about the sixth.
    i finally got a puppet down to 1/16ths that was "reasonably human proportioned" (those heels on the ground really do not help) but when i finally, after hours of trying to suss the "body structure" pins, which i (and many people) can never get to attach to anything but the stock sculpt, ***finally*** got my proportionally spaced connectors attached to asculpt, to a puppet logic, and somehow, the joints have twisted, even though i used the stock puppet connectors, and did not reorient or rotate them, at all, and now when it walks or runs its limbs are all over the place.
    never mind trying to make custom puppets for eg. very elementary forms (eg. the 2 or 3 DOF 4 legged walkers people build with arduinos are a basic ambulatory form, but since i cannot attach my own structure to the puppet, i cannot make it, and i cannot find any resource for these basic forms of walking)
    i am still, as a 50 year old, very technically informed, 3d engine coding from the ground up, developer, cannot suss how to make a symmetrical puppet with its ankles more than an inch off the ground.
    i am sending you a collab for my puppet "grid puppet" and i am hoping, someone at media molecule, can help me get the joints orineted properly (they all look right to me( so i can use a puppet that doesn't have stupid proportions or asymmetcial sculpts. it is soooo, soooooo, sooo annoying not to have sculpts in the center so i cannot do any geometric construction. if i center the stock puppet on its head, its torso is off center. its all wrong.
    please can someone untwist the connector orientations on the grid puppet i am sending you a collab invite for.
    i'm sorry to whine, especially as an old curmudgeon used to self sourcing, but it is getting to be a stupid effort in human futility to try anddo this astoundingly basic thing.
    i want symmetry!

    • @atomictraveller
      @atomictraveller 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      okay i guess i can't send a collab request unless i upload it again, its already available "grid puppet" unrestricted.
      watch it run, it looks like its made the rainbow connection.
      i know it won't help if i say things like "i just can't take it any more" but holy smokes people should know creators get anal about being avble to do things the way they want them. symmetry as a basis. ankles off the ground. please someone remix my listed remixable puppet so i can stop wondering why i spend so much time doing this.

      it appears that the left shoulder and hip have reflected the other way, when it runs and jumps, both limbs sway to the right instead of outwards.
      i replaced the ball joint in the shoulder and the behaviour remained.
      so, what am i supposed to do? all i have tried to do is make the proportions closer and i have spent weeks.

    • @atomictraveller
      @atomictraveller 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      now i find that, though no yellow and blue bars appear, ball joints can be rotated. so, it can only be one of 4*4*4*4 possible combinations, right? it can only take me so many hours.
      i have tried deleting and reassing ing the arm in body structure as well as the connector, and the rotation still remains. someone probably has some insight to, if there is a 180 x axis reflection on movement, how to enter that in 45 degree rotations on the sticks, but my intuitive, matrix and quaternion informed, mind, hasn't been able to determine how yet.

    • @atomictraveller
      @atomictraveller 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      rotate left hip on right stick, click up four times, seems to act close enough, may not be exactly right. the limbs have different behaviours with each rotation. i wish they could be reset to whatever the puppet needs.
      so the arm still is wrong. click, click, click.

      I have no idea if I'll be able to help at all, but I'll take a look at the puppet and try to find some solutions. Connectors often seem to defy all logical sense.

    You can just slam the timeline into the end of the key frames and it stops in the right place. Surprised you don't know that Lex.
    Gonna have to watch this again, wasn't paying enough attention and its not intuitive to a newb.

    • @DreamswithLadylexUK
      @DreamswithLadylexUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure about that one. Ive managed to cut into keyframes with a timeline, so it isnt fixed to the end.

    How about making sculptures into puppets? I've made some sculpts of characters for scenes/animation or possible game play. I've re-made a few of them as puppets but not the same look. I have them saved and online but all private as of now(its from a "hobby comic" of mine)..would love the help..psn DamienDoomEPF
