    You can use \* to make starry boys ;p
    The backslash means "ignore the next special character."

    Hi meanlad, we saw your tutorial about the cutscene thing and we want to thank you for it and these tips are amazing and helpful and also sorry for all the fixing and setting you put up in this cutscene tutorial but your efforts are very appreciated and I'm happy that now I know how cutscenes work

    Something useful I do to be able to grab/scope into stuff that's hard to hover over is to group it with something invisible. Could be a painting as a little icon for what it is, or a chip I see using x-ray, things like that. Then I can use that as a handle. :D
    Dialogues are a little annoying with not being able to turn them off. They stick around as long as there's a prompt the player can still use. So I *think* you could use a keyframe to turn off the prompts, even temporarily, and it would disappear.
    Or destroy the dialogue gadget if you want to go the nuclear option. :D
    Oh man that imp drift is insane XD If you hold the controller still for a few seconds after re-centring you'll see it'll stop drifting. It takes those seconds to actually re-calibrate, so if you're moving around still it'll not calibrate correctly--which is what causes imp drift ;p
    What I usually recommend for cutscenes is to not have cameras/lights inside timelines. Then you can hide them by grouping them up or something. And you can move the timeline wherever you want and not affect anything.
    In fact, best bet is to group the cameras and any special lighting setup with the characters or whatever. Then you can even move the whole scene somewhere else if you want to.

      How do I create a doorway from the cut scene to a playable scene?

    • @meanlad
      @meanlad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much Sara! I appreciate that

    • @meanlad
      @meanlad  ปีที่แล้ว

      You just add a doorway to the end of the timeline, like on the last frame 😎

    Does it work the same if you want to do multiple quick time events in a row?

    • @meanlad
      @meanlad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly the same, you just need a separate timeline for each QTE. Definitely go with the controller + text displayer technique if there are multiple QTEs as the dialog text displayer logic will explode.
