When I was a kid, Sima Yi (Dw4: Empires) was my favorite because I thought he was pretty and I liked his laser beams. 😂 His name never really stuck though. I bought DW7 last year and ironically ended up playing with Yi as my main (until I found Gan Ning and his awesome hair lol) only to realize who he was after a short while. I guess some things don't change! Hahaha Here are my favorites. Not that anyone askes, but because I love these games and wanna share regardless! 1. Gan Ning (I'm a sucker for pirates and also collect bells, ironically. And I love that he quit his job and killed his horrible boss. lol. And that he was pretty much an OG alt fashion enthusiast! The sickle and flail flow nicely in game too) 2. Sima Yi (his sass and class are perfectly balanced lol) 3. Cao Cao (he's just an interesting character in the book, history and the games) 4. Sima Zhao (mostly for his relatable voice lines ngl) 5. Ling Tong (for the voice lines, that bounce and that ponytail... gosh the hair envy) 6. Li Dian (because the weird stuff he says) 7. Zhao Yun (mostly because of the book, not the games itself) 8. Sun Ce (his tonfas were so fun in DW4!) 9. Jia Chong (Gothic fashion is my jam) 10. Then Zhou Tai was the second who I found really on fire when I played, and he was my most favorite to play until then of DW4 🔥 His Katana, his excellent combo, so easy yet so powerful and effective to play. He is the GOAT of Wu in DW.
Wei has a lot of interesting characters with Cao Cao being the guy who is called a villain but he’s just a regular guy who wants to stop the fighting that has plagued the land…by any means necessary!
i just found a copy of dynasty warriors 6 empires, i have heard good things about it, i also loved the look of dynasty warriors 6, my all time favourite officer is Ma Chao/Sun Ce(loved his polearm wep he had before going back to tofnas) and my fav generic officer is Liao Hua
I’m always sad when Sun Ce doesn’t crack a top 10 list like this. Also, surprised there’s no Zhu Rong or Zhen Ji or Lianshi. But, narrowing down 10 characters out of 90 something…there’s the obvious faces of the franchise. I wonder how much weight the actual gameplay of these character carried in people’s voting. For each faction, I always have one hero I gravitate to Wu:Gan Ning Wei:Xiahou Dun Shu:Zhao Yun Other:Lu Bu Don't have one for Jin as I stopped playing after 6 so they were just barely introduced
Not too surprised with some of these , some have been round since 2 so will hit harder home for long fans. Hard to say who my favourite is but I'll say these. Best female is Diao Chan her skill moveset throught the series has been seen as unique and I have ton of fun playing her. Best male is Ma Chao for the same reason I have always have fun playing the character. The only DW game I haven't played yet is 9 for the reasons it got slated I'm afriad I'll hate it also shout out to meng huo even though I don't particular love playing as him he's stories and maps always make me have such a blast. I remember when he first appeared in his first ever dynasty warriors game I think it was on a demo too when I first played it I played that level to death I loved it

One thing I would say though you should spend less time on the scoring system of your ranking (if viewers want to know the full detail of your research maybe pin a comment explaing it or putting in the description. Feels to me like you are spending your video evenly between your scoring system and the actualcharacters when it should be 90% about the characters and why you agree or disagree about their placement imo. Zhang Chunhua I’ve been a fan of the series since DW5 was the newest iteration, but several of the newer characters just spoke to me more than some of the older characters. Really, though, the majority of the roster are likeable and fun to play, and distinct enough to separate from their historical/novel counterparts. I can’t wait to see what Koei will do with them all when DW10 becomes a reality.
All my 3 kingdom knowledge are from Koihime Musou which was a visual novel about romancing the genderbended generals of the three kingdom. It's quite interesting to see their masculine alpha self depicted in DW turned into anime girl lmao.
Guan Yu is rarely top tier in warror games which is sad bcoz both chinese and japanese love him. For me I like his design in DW, it fits my imagination perfectly: gentel move set, strong body style and the iconic beard. His ultimate weapon in some game(like warriors of orochi)is kind weird coz in Japanese or Chinese version it's called 黄龙偃月刀 with means yellow moon dragon, but in English it's called blue moon dragon. His second best weapon is just blue moon in english, but in japanese version it's called 青龙偃月刀 which exactly means blue moon dragon(and we all know that's his famous weapon)...

I rigged my old 4gb phone to play PS2 with decent perormance. Its enoigh to play with slight lag sometimes in bigger mobs but, i got back into DWE5 & im so jooked bro i been playing hours on hours today. I have to work tomorrow but, I just keep grinding 😆
If only koei gave guan yu a better (flashier and more agile) movesets, he would be more popular.. But zhou tai especially on dw4 is definetely a bad ass.. a favorite character to play..
I'm some lore cao cao hesitated when it came to killing LU BU. The only thing holding him back is the string of rebellion he caused over a horse and maybe a woman
My top 10 Dynasty Warriors characters 1. Zhao Yun- he’s the poster boy of Dynasty Warriors, after all 2. Lu Bu- that bastard’s one tough enemy that no man shall mess with 3. Xiahou Dun- One Eyed Xiahou’s a badass and being voiced by Kirk Thorton’s a big plus too 4. Zhang Liao- pretty badass at every angle 5. Cao Cao- suave, calculating and his voice exudes authority 6. Ma Chao- he’s like Zhao Yun’s dark counterpart and also… DROPKICKS OF JUSTICE! 7. Zhang He- oh my, those moves of his, they’re utterly graceful! 8. Guan Yu- that beard of his is truly gorgeous yet it is a symbol of his badassery 9. Liu Bei- despite his crappy reputation i.e. being a dirtbag father, his skills handling the Swords of Justice and Virtue 10. Sima Yi- Imbeciles! Why is he on the bottom of the list?! He’s a cunning individual who prefers to work quietly
For me I feel Ma Chao should be No# 2 and Zhao Yun be No#3 based on their combo attacks effectiveness :) , Although I've only played all the characters in Dynasty Warrior 4 Hyper

Hey,I liked the video. One thing I would say though you should spend less time on the scoring system of your ranking (if viewers want to know the full detail of your research maybe pin a comment explaing it or putting in the description. Feels to me like you are spending your video evenly between your scoring system and the actualcharacters when it should be 90% about the characters and why you agree or disagree about their placement imo.

I’ve been a fan of the series since DW5 was the newest iteration, but several of the newer characters just spoke to me more than some of the older characters. Really, though, the majority of the roster are likeable and fun to play, and distinct enough to separate from their historical/novel counterparts. I can’t wait to see what Koei will do with them all when DW10 becomes a reality.

Guan Yu is rarely top tier in warror games which is sad bcoz both chinese and japanese love him. For me I like his design in DW, it fits my imagination perfectly: gentel move set, strong body style and the iconic beard.
His ultimate weapon in some game(like warriors of orochi)is kind weird coz in Japanese or Chinese version it's called 黄龙偃月刀 with means yellow moon dragon, but in English it's called blue moon dragon.
His second best weapon is just blue moon in english, but in japanese version it's called 青龙偃月刀 which exactly means blue moon dragon(and we all know that's his famous weapon)...

1. Zhao Yun- he’s the poster boy of Dynasty Warriors, after all
2. Lu Bu- that bastard’s one tough enemy that no man shall mess with
3. Xiahou Dun- One Eyed Xiahou’s a badass and being voiced by Kirk Thorton’s a big plus too
4. Zhang Liao- pretty badass at every angle
5. Cao Cao- suave, calculating and his voice exudes authority
6. Ma Chao- he’s like Zhao Yun’s dark counterpart and also… DROPKICKS OF JUSTICE!
7. Zhang He- oh my, those moves of his, they’re utterly graceful!
8. Guan Yu- that beard of his is truly gorgeous yet it is a symbol of his badassery
9. Liu Bei- despite his crappy reputation i.e. being a dirtbag father, his skills handling the Swords of Justice and Virtue
10. Sima Yi- Imbeciles! Why is he on the bottom of the list?! He’s a cunning individual who prefers to work quietly
