I'm quite shocked that Great Red Spirit wasn't even mentioned. Absolute banger that matches the energy of He Fei. These lists are subjective of course, and that being said if I made the same video then probably 15 of them would have been from DW4
The Dynasty Warriors 4 version of Lu Bu's theme is one kickass theme which inspires players to march to the field and lay the smackdown on enemy goons nonstop. Heck, whenever Lu Bu's theme plays either at Hulao Gate or anywhere else... RUN!!!!! Crush em All is another kickass theme that plays whenever the characters are about to do something extraordinary and "Into the Era" from Dynasty Warriors 9 is a majestic theme that heralds the beginning of an unforgettable adventure. As for Circuit? It's a feel good theme that plays during the ending of DW 8: XL/CE's hypothetical routes, knowing for a fact that all major characters of one faction live on and unite China under their banner.

Honestly couldn't even remember any DW9 tracks until you played them. The rest I mostly know from being able to choose them in Empires games and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. Hu Lao Gate from DW4 and 5 are my favourites

I completely agree with the top pick. Whenever I think of a Dynasty Warriors music, I would immediately think of Arena. Even Koei agreed that it's the best ost they've ever made by remixing/recreating it like 5+ times. My favorite rendition is "Steal A March" from DW Online, that one is right below the original for me.
Ahh yes arena from dw3 I heard this when I was doing Zhou Yu story and you had to save a village from bandits love that ost. Zhou Yu: what a wonderful place Villager: HELP! BANDITS

Always tragic and gets in the feels of liu bei’s loss. And another one is in dw5 when you fight Guan Yu I love unusual gravity. And when that final attack happens to guan yu it’s epic! I love Vanish such a good Soundtrack when I played Lu bu's story and this theme pops up at the battle of xiapi after the flod attack hits, it feels like "yeah this is the final Battle" or strenght and weakness also a nice track. I really enjoyed DW8XL and in my opinion Lu bus theme in that game was the best.
I remember hearing crest of thirst from DW6 in Ma Chao's scenario soooooooooo bit of a nitpick there Edit: but considering that you probably haven't played DW6 special on PS2/PSP at this point of this video, I guess that's understandable
Best game soundtrack ever! DW3 and 4 are the most nostalgic. My favorite tho is the wei side battle of hefei on dw8. Legit got me into 80s rock lol. Badass😎
Personally a lot more dw4 tracks are at the top for me but I’m glad Eve is in the top 3. Always loved saving Liu Chan and having a freaking 2 minute musou to fight off hoards of enemies with such a sick beat playing in the background.

Great video and list! I think only about 4-5 of the ones you included would make my top 20, which is anything is a testament to just how many different bangers this series has that could arguably be among its best. DW easily has some of my favorite video game soundtracks and it really doesn't get the credit it deserves
I 100% agree, the music is always top notch and yeah with so many soundtracks from each game its hard to narrow down the best ones personally as its such a subjective thing! Appreciate the kind words!
“Epic Man” from DW7 is easily in my top 3. DW4 being my first DW game, I’d have to say that “Look back on your way” was my most nostalgic soundtrack. “Tyrant” is probably my favourite DW3 soundtrack tho.
I’m glad that this video exists because let me tell ya, all of the soundtracks give me comfort for studying and work lmaooo. I def agree with top 5, although I haven’t heard that DW9E track before but it definitely sounds epic!
Atleast Men of Intelligence is an honorable mention. Arena being #1 is very fitting it's THE Dynasty Warriors song. I will say "Strength, Weakness " is such a phenomenal soundtrack. When it first came on in Lu Bu's hypothetical I couldn't stop listening to it.
Wow I love this list! I must say mine is probably quite different if I buckled down and did the research, but I love your enthusiasm with the music and whole series in general. I agree it’s hard to crunch even to a top 20😂. As a big fan of 6 as well I’m happy with all the music inclusions and the love you still show it. I would say you included quite a bit of mine but my top 5 you didn’t include would be Vanish- 8 XL Wall of fate- 4 Chase the wave- 3 Male roar- 7 Literally any theme that goes with the battle of chengdu (Jin vs shu). They have been undefeated with those themes matching the climactic battle vibe.
As much as I respect your personal preference, there are so many BANGERS left out and I had to list some of them (Mostly DW 5,6,7 as those are my favs) DW5 King of sadness, basically represented the fall of Shu, a fallen dynasty vibe and perfect match for the sunset of the stage DW5 Memories. Best encyclopedia theme which you didn't touch in your list. DW6 The battle without justice. Feels like a raging fire at the start but when as soon as the chorus starts, it is like Lu Xun's plan worked and everything fell apart in fire. DW6 Beat it. Perfectly matched with the mysterious mist of Cheng Du stage. DW7 Large Feather. GOATED fan castle theme. Fall of the great Guan Yu and basically his legend in music. DW7 Last Battle. TRUE GOAT. Combined a few soundtracks in DW7 and concluded this game in the most breathtaking way. Can't believe not even in your TOP25. DW7 Hide Emotion. A very underrated one but got that badass vibe all over it. DW7 is my fav soundtrack and I may put like 10 in my TOP 25 (Played all installments since DW4) DW8 have bangers as well but I think Solo is better than all you put in TOP 25. Anyway, decent list but can't believe some of these missed out, especially Last Battle, Memories and King of sadness.
Definitely some good ones and a hard list to make with it being so subjective. Love the passion for the choices, this is why I love this game and community so much!
Dynasty Warriors will ALWAYS make amazing soundtracks!!!! My top favorites are Revolutionary Dawn, Wall of Silence, The Last Battle, The Epic Remains Forever, Avenging Battle, and Eve. Also, I hate to nitpick, but The Crest of Thirst is from DW6S, not DW8.
YES! Arena is an awesome track! I've never played DW 3 but I heard it when it was called "Steal a Match" in DWO. Ever since then I loved it. One track I also love, though sad, is Hopeful Pain. I think from DW8. It was the battle where Zhuge Liang Died and Sima Yi first thought it was one of his strategies. The song itself at times feels like a dragon or a bird gliding through the air but struggling to remain there and slowly losing height... Was that description too cheesy?

All songs on this list are battle themes except for two(?), so how about making top 10 videos about dw events soundtracks and so? Just a suggestion ofc. Good list btw
You've never played the XL versions have you? First there was the mistake of crest of thirst in DW8 when it actually came from a DW6 expansion, but also you're missing out on a lot of good XL tracks such as Vanish- Xiapi and 'Strength and Weakness' which could have been easy contenders for top music pieces imo. You should listen to the DW8XL soundtrack sometime, it might just surprise you how many hidden gems there are in that soundtrack.
Finally some big difference in are music preference at least my favorite ost from 3 on would be dw3 men of intelligence dw4 eve dw5 hu loa gate dw6 didn't play dw7 thousand suns dw 8 ambition mode final game I think it was called
There’s so many good songs, is honestly be interested in your top 50 even if it’s just a list and not a full video. I was surprised seeing so many DW9 entries but looking back I guess they were pretty good, I think just for me DW9 is probably the only DW I didn’t really pay much attention to the music fr and they kinda all got lost in my ears tbh but I gotta say I think most of my favorite tracks are definitely hailing from DW3, DW6, DW7, DW8. DW6 soundtrack is definitely slept on the most😭 Solid list you have though🙏🏾 Also I feel like certain battles at least for me DW would always slap on were The Wu Zhang Plains, Chi Bi, Fan Castle, and Chang Ban always slapped for me in almost all the games. Cause Solo is in my top 10 for sure

Another great vid! Yea I’m in particular very fond of DW7 soundtrack overall. Swordsman in the plains,primitive power, and Wu Zhang Plains theme in DW5 are some of my favorites. And I agree with Micheal Bandada, DW4 has my favorite lubu theme hands down!!! Hu lao gate for that game was very good too! Anyways thanks again as always!!!!
"Ignition" from DW6 will always be the most nostalgiac song from the series for me. The Yellow Turban Rebellion in 6 was the first battle I ever played in a DW game and I remember watching my dad play it time and time again. I am always thinking about it, even after all this time.
Arena from DW3 is my favorite too, good nostalgia of waking up early on Christmas break to grind Guan Yu’s Escape with my brother. Grandpa watching westerns on the couch, my grandma making turkey bacon and scrambled eggs… can almost smell it when I hear this song. ❤ 💪
let's be honest.even though DW6 has a bad reputation,but the soundtracks & cutscenes are the best(maybe DW7 has a slightly better cutscenes).I remember playing DW5E and I'm really trying so hard to find the soundtrack from 6. My personal fav from 6 is: Battle of Yi Ling Battle of Wu Zhang Plains Battle of Fan Castle Battle of Tong Gate(I remember crying to this while playing Ma Chao) Battle of Chang Ban Battle of Xu Chang(Welcome To China) Yellow Turban Rebellion Battle Of Hu Lao Gate(before Lu Bu ost kicks in ofc)
Sacred Ground Always left me with a note of nostalgia even the first time i played DW3. It is my personall favourite and really puts an amazing aura to that difficult night of the Shu Army!
Wow, DW3 and DW9 has pretty good music! I've started from DW4, so music from there is pretty nostalgic to me. DW6 Gain Momentum also in my heart. I like that dynasty warriors and good music is always together. As it should be
Fantastic list. A few honorable mentions for me: - In Full Bloom DW4 - The layered guitars, and haunting melody, and the guitar solo shreds so hard. This is still my favorite theme for the Guan Du stage. - The Mountain DW8 - The energy of this theme is exhilarating! Assaulting Mt. Ding Jun was absolutely epic with this track playing. - Jin Overture DW8 - I love the Koei finally introduced specific themes for each Kingdom, which added great leitmotifs and musical cohesion to the overall soundtrack. The Jin theme is easily my favorite, especially the Crossroads variation. - A Long Time Ago DW4 - The background track to this game's encyclopedia has always stuck with me. Such a great melodic piece with the piano and flute, the perfect ambiance reading about these larger than life heroes. This theme inspired me to read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novels.
Christ....nostalgia for DW 3 just grows the more of your video's I see. Right. Mind is made up, I am going to find a copy of the game for nostalgia sake if nothing else.
So much nostalgia in 1 vid. One track that will always stay with me is DW5's Run, Run, Run. The opening riff hits hard and brings about a sense of panic and adreneline at the same time. Deffo would be in my top 10.
Chase the Wave from DW3 Changban, Anger and Grudge from DW6 Tong Gate and The Mountain from DW8 Mt. Dingjun are some of my favorites, so much so that The Mountain was my phone's alarm for a time.
I can agree immensely with "Force or Flood?" That song really gets atuck in your head 😂 One DW song that i enjoy alot is "Hide Emotion" from DW7, that song always came on when after a Character passes away and that beginning just GIVES GOOSEBUMPS!!
“Crush em All” aka the Dynasty Warriors 7 intro sounds kickass and it somehow fits the intro cutscene with Zhao Yun laying the smackdown on enemy forces and display such badassery while taking care of Baby Liu Shan. “Into the Era” from Dynasty Warriors 9 is a bombastic theme which heralds the unfolding of an epic tale of heroism, loyalty and brotherhood. As far as Lu Bu’s themes go, I would choose the one from Dynasty Warriors 4 because it’s kickass and it reminds me of Brock Lesnar or Goldberg stepping in the ring to smash somebody!
My favorite out of all the DWs is Blast From the East. It feels like dominance over He Fei Castle was a sure thing. Like a vicious conquest coming to a close with Lu Xun taking down Sima Yi for Wu dominance.
A lot of my favorites are on here, great list, Nightowl! Arena, Welcome to China, Crush 'Em All, The Crest of Thirst, and Night Raid DW6 are my top 5! Dabes DW6 just barely edging 5th place. Ignition too. What do you think of Night Raid and Dabes?
@@TheNightowlGaming It might be. Night raid is a really dope track though, very fast paced. Despite being a downgrade, there's some cool differences, there's new musou modes for certain characters and special music.
Wall of Fate, Struggle for Existence, interceptor, and Avenging battle from DW4 live in my head. The Nanman stage in 5 is way too dance-able with headphones 😂 Great list! Good to hear that nine had some good music. I really couldn’t get into the game itself, and I’ve played two through eight as well as the samurai Warriors series minus the third one.
@@TheNightowlGaming I really only hugely got into it within the past year or so myself. It hits different when you’re not focused on taking down hundreds of enemies and avoiding tigers and poison marshes. 😂
I wanted to see Wuzhang Plains😢 That theme is so good, so emotional. Really encapsulates what fighting a losing battle is like and how it's their only choice. But I do agree Arena in #1 though, I personally like the remixes in Warriors Orochi.
Man NONE of the Wu Zhang Plains themes other than Geniuses Sanctuaries? I feel like most of them had the best 'final battle' feels to them compared to most of the other final stage themes. Id start on that side of the map in Empires just to get Sacred Ground on defense haha.

This one is so subjective, music is definitely hard to rank since its so based on each persons individual feelings, but im glad you enjoyed it!

Atleast Men of Intelligence is an honorable mention. Arena being #1 is very fitting it's THE Dynasty Warriors song. I will say "Strength, Weakness " is such a phenomenal soundtrack. When it first came on in Lu Bu's hypothetical I couldn't stop listening to it.

Wow I love this list! I must say mine is probably quite different if I buckled down and did the research, but I love your enthusiasm with the music and whole series in general. I agree it’s hard to crunch even to a top 20😂. As a big fan of 6 as well I’m happy with all the music inclusions and the love you still show it.

Literally any theme that goes with the battle of chengdu (Jin vs shu). They have been undefeated with those themes matching the climactic battle vibe.

As much as I respect your personal preference, there are so many BANGERS left out and I had to list some of them (Mostly DW 5,6,7 as those are my favs)
DW5 King of sadness, basically represented the fall of Shu, a fallen dynasty vibe and perfect match for the sunset of the stage
DW5 Memories. Best encyclopedia theme which you didn't touch in your list.
DW6 The battle without justice. Feels like a raging fire at the start but when as soon as the chorus starts, it is like Lu Xun's plan worked and everything fell apart in fire.
DW6 Beat it. Perfectly matched with the mysterious mist of Cheng Du stage.
DW7 Large Feather. GOATED fan castle theme. Fall of the great Guan Yu and basically his legend in music.
DW7 Last Battle. TRUE GOAT. Combined a few soundtracks in DW7 and concluded this game in the most breathtaking way. Can't believe not even in your TOP25.
DW7 Hide Emotion. A very underrated one but got that badass vibe all over it.
DW7 is my fav soundtrack and I may put like 10 in my TOP 25 (Played all installments since DW4)
DW8 have bangers as well but I think Solo is better than all you put in TOP 25.
Anyway, decent list but can't believe some of these missed out, especially Last Battle, Memories and King of sadness.
Definitely some good ones and a hard list to make with it being so subjective. Love the passion for the choices, this is why I love this game and community so much!
Dynasty Warriors will ALWAYS make amazing soundtracks!!!! My top favorites are Revolutionary Dawn, Wall of Silence, The Last Battle, The Epic Remains Forever, Avenging Battle, and Eve.
Also, I hate to nitpick, but The Crest of Thirst is from DW6S, not DW8.

YES! Arena is an awesome track! I've never played DW 3 but I heard it when it was called "Steal a Match" in DWO. Ever since then I loved it.
One track I also love, though sad, is Hopeful Pain. I think from DW8. It was the battle where Zhuge Liang Died and Sima Yi first thought it was one of his strategies.
The song itself at times feels like a dragon or a bird gliding through the air but struggling to remain there and slowly losing height... Was that description too cheesy?

You've never played the XL versions have you? First there was the mistake of crest of thirst in DW8 when it actually came from a DW6 expansion, but also you're missing out on a lot of good XL tracks such as Vanish- Xiapi and 'Strength and Weakness' which could have been easy contenders for top music pieces imo. You should listen to the DW8XL soundtrack sometime, it might just surprise you how many hidden gems there are in that soundtrack.

There’s so many good songs, is honestly be interested in your top 50 even if it’s just a list and not a full video. I was surprised seeing so many DW9 entries but looking back I guess they were pretty good, I think just for me DW9 is probably the only DW I didn’t really pay much attention to the music fr and they kinda all got lost in my ears tbh but I gotta say I think most of my favorite tracks are definitely hailing from DW3, DW6, DW7, DW8. DW6 soundtrack is definitely slept on the most😭 Solid list you have though🙏🏾
Also I feel like certain battles at least for me DW would always slap on were The Wu Zhang Plains, Chi Bi, Fan Castle, and Chang Ban always slapped for me in almost all the games. Cause Solo is in my top 10 for sure

Another great vid! Yea I’m in particular very fond of DW7 soundtrack overall. Swordsman in the plains,primitive power, and Wu Zhang Plains theme in DW5 are some of my favorites. And I agree with Micheal Bandada, DW4 has my favorite lubu theme hands down!!! Hu lao gate for that game was very good too! Anyways thanks again as always!!!!

"Ignition" from DW6 will always be the most nostalgiac song from the series for me. The Yellow Turban Rebellion in 6 was the first battle I ever played in a DW game and I remember watching my dad play it time and time again. I am always thinking about it, even after all this time.

Arena from DW3 is my favorite too, good nostalgia of waking up early on Christmas break to grind Guan Yu’s Escape with my brother. Grandpa watching westerns on the couch, my grandma making turkey bacon and scrambled eggs… can almost smell it when I hear this song. ❤ 💪

Fantastic list. A few honorable mentions for me:
- In Full Bloom DW4 - The layered guitars, and haunting melody, and the guitar solo shreds so hard. This is still my favorite theme for the Guan Du stage.
- The Mountain DW8 - The energy of this theme is exhilarating! Assaulting Mt. Ding Jun was absolutely epic with this track playing.
- Jin Overture DW8 - I love the Koei finally introduced specific themes for each Kingdom, which added great leitmotifs and musical cohesion to the overall soundtrack. The Jin theme is easily my favorite, especially the Crossroads variation.
- A Long Time Ago DW4 - The background track to this game's encyclopedia has always stuck with me. Such a great melodic piece with the piano and flute, the perfect ambiance reading about these larger than life heroes. This theme inspired me to read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novels.

Arena was the song i used the most in dynasty warriors 5 empires, so that being #1 is the best thing ever.

“Crush em All” aka the Dynasty Warriors 7 intro sounds kickass and it somehow fits the intro cutscene with Zhao Yun laying the smackdown on enemy forces and display such badassery while taking care of Baby Liu Shan.
“Into the Era” from Dynasty Warriors 9 is a bombastic theme which heralds the unfolding of an epic tale of heroism, loyalty and brotherhood.
As far as Lu Bu’s themes go, I would choose the one from Dynasty Warriors 4 because it’s kickass and it reminds me of Brock Lesnar or Goldberg stepping in the ring to smash somebody!

My favorite out of all the DWs is Blast From the East. It feels like dominance over He Fei Castle was a sure thing. Like a vicious conquest coming to a close with Lu Xun taking down Sima Yi for Wu dominance.

@@TheNightowlGaming It might be. Night raid is a really dope track though, very fast paced. Despite being a downgrade, there's some cool differences, there's new musou modes for certain characters and special music.
I only know "March to Destruction", "Crush 'em All", "Hide Emotion", "Final Battle", "Ambition to take over" from 7/XL and Lu Bu's theme from 6-8

Man NONE of the Wu Zhang Plains themes other than Geniuses Sanctuaries? I feel like most of them had the best 'final battle' feels to them compared to most of the other final stage themes. Id start on that side of the map in Empires just to get Sacred Ground on defense haha.
