Keith is the only "jazz" musician with classical musician like Horowitz or Gitlis who make me cry. I hope you will get fine and able to play soon dear Keith. I dream about seing you.
A tune that brings back things that you almost forgot, but it was just a matter of reaching back into that back corner of the heart -- where you hardly ever let yourself go... // "Blame It on My Youth" is a much loved jazz standard written by Oscar Levant and Edward Heyman in 1934. It has been recorded by a galaxy of famous singers and musicians. Rosemary Clooney (1955), Nat King Cole (1957), Frank Sinatra (1957), André Previn (1958), Carmen McRae (1964), Charlie Byrd (1975) and Brad Mehldau (1999) for the movie "Eyes Wide Shut."
Keith and Chet Baker played the nicest renditions of Oscar Levant’s beautiful composition. What Keith (trio) plays is just mesmerising. The sadness that Chet portrays with song/trumpet pulls on your heartstrings. Do check it out folks. This captivating song reminds me of my youth…. Enjoy this gem, G’day & Cheers!
I love how Keith plays for simple beauty and avoids the impulse to show off technique and play too many notes --- a tendency that afflicts far too many "jazz" musicians.
Please send prayers to Keith Jarrett. He had a stroke a few years ago and currently isn’t able to play. He needs your well wishes. Thank you!

Brilliant. The voicings, articulation and phrasing of the melody and refined restraint of the trio are just gorgeous. Thank you Keith, Gary and Jack!
Keith Jarrett. who else could make my heart melt this way? I love you Keith. I do. blame it on your music.
It's pieces like this where one is allowed to use words like masterpiece

Oscar Levant wrote the words not the music.
@@eugeneclasby518 Incorrect! Oscar did compose the music. Ed Heyman wrote the lyrics! Take care & Cheers!
Thx ❤️
Wonderful version by Bernadette Peters (on TV). Not to compare with this, of course, but the lyrics are very beautiful. Thank you, Oscar.

Great German author, essayist and TV presenter. That funeral tribute must have moved everyone to tears.
Nice. Big fan of chris Connor version
