Such original lines. Both in the melody and KJ’s solo. I love how he’s not afraid to play the melody simply. And his SOUND is original too. Brilliant player, to state the obvious.
Mr. Jarrett is not a musician that plays music on the piano. He plums the depths of the emotions the composer experienced when he or she created the piece. Mr. Jarrett absorbs all the feeling that was invested in the piece to the point where he becomes the music and then; using every iota of his heart and soul, he expresses those emotions through the piano. Committing 100% of his being to the process, he provides us with a masterful performance every original composer would likely be proud of.
oh you are so right, the intros and outrows is where all the magic is for my money. for example the intro on this piece I’m already obsessed with it and I’ve been listening to it multiple times already today.
5:17 literally has me holding my breath every time until he resolves it (and then adds a gorgeous upwards sequence afterwards).. Goddamn, he's a genius.
Gary Peacock's entrance and first bars of the theme right after Jarrett's mesmerizing introduction were nothing short than sublime. Wonderful sound, extremely balanced, incredible syncopations and a variety of colors that are mind blowing.
Perfect. I grew up with this song as a theme to Walt Disney, an animated children's show, in color tv, a new innovation at the time. This makes me feel like a child again on Sunday night anticipating the Wonderful World. Thanks.
Grazie Keith !✨
A new way to experience music! Jazz! It's been here since the 1950s but you've always assumed it was exclusively for your grandpa or quirky people. See if Jazz is right you, look up a local Jazz club if you wish to consort, but better yet consult an avid professional about how you should being your journey through the vast ocean of recorded Jazz music that is readily available in the comfort of your own home or on the move on any streaming platform and just dive in. Jazz, pick up on a theme and court it in nonlinear fashion led only by inclination. And best of all, no pesky words, just epic jazz players names. Jazz, sensible, more free, and always unique.
i'm like the biggest waste of a jazz fan, it's a pleasant caressing listening experience as companion to just about anything besides dancing, and when it's good, and when you choose to dive into it, it holds all the sophistication one could ever possibly ask for.
I love watching performers get this into their music. Watching their expressions flow with the music is awesome! It makes the experience so much more beautiful and powerful
Divine, Dear Keith. Few caress the ivorys like You do. A Miracle is what I am looking out for. If a certain Oscar Peterson could make a stunning come back, I am sure You can God is with You and the Prayers of your fans who run into legions.

A dallal, a közönséggel, a zenével, a hangokkal.
Yeah, it’s kinda hard to explain in words what he’s doing there but his LH plays the notes Ab C Db F and his RH basically arpeggiates in 3rds notes from the Db(or Bb-) scale. It’s not easy to analyze but I think it might be a kind of iv - I, which is a common resolution
He played with Miles Davis at the Isle of Wight in 1970. Enjoy: th-cam.com/video/VBTM6blPbUQ/w-d-xo.html He suffered from two strokes in 2018 and ceased touring. Suffered from paralysis in one side. Enjoy the fantastic discography and video such as this one.
just transposed the entire intro 48 seconds and it took me 7 hours, polishing will take a month or less, nice add to the massive set list. Must have Chi, and be able to apply it to the piano in feel and spirit to even come miles close to his presentation. Its a good day...
THIS IS DRIPPING WITH BEAUTY-WHAT AN INCREDIBLE TALENT-I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT HE IS THE GREATEST JAZZ PIANIST OF ALL TIME AND THERE HAVE BEEN VERY MANY GREATS-NEVERTHELESS-I WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO HIM THAN ANYONE ELSE!!-KELWYN(TRINIDAD)
There’s very few piano players out there that can play a melody as moving as Keith Jarrett and his trio with Gary Peacock, and Jack De jeanette is beyond compare on a music communication level
Absolutamente fabuloso. I Wish You upon a star *
Keith Jarrett's laugh and smile at 6:40 says it ALL! He knows its been amazing and the show has been a total success and these are damn good times, the best for ANY musician, especially a well deserved MASTER like KEITH. Jack and him exchange that knowing recognition that the flight is almost landed and soon to be home. This makes me so happy!!!!
Yes, that could well be why he was so pleased. But could it also be because he appreciated the little chromatic figure that Gary played (A Bb, B, C, then down to F) right before that? Just wondering if that was a chuckle of approval...
He probably felt that, but that wasn't the reason he laughed. He laughed because he was going in to a another solo round but quickly realised that his bandmembers Gary and Jack was planing something else by going back in to the melody again.
Such original lines. Both in the melody and KJ’s solo. I love how he’s not afraid to play the melody simply. And his SOUND is original too. Brilliant player, to state the obvious.
His sound is so incredible, truly. Such bell like clarity while keeping the ability to get greasy and funky when he wants to
The only pianist who can give me a huge smile and tears in my eyes at the same time! Respect 🙏
well said
what abt errol garner?!?
❤
@dookellingtun Yeah, that's right-Erroll Garner was another one that used to smile and get tears in his eyes at the same time too!🥲👌
I'm a pianist, and I reckon I could do it not a problem-a quick knee to the groin while offering a box of chocolates, job done!😂🤪🤙
I love Keith Jarrett's intros and outros. They are always sublime.
Yes! Stuart, they are the BEST part of Keith
Best intro: all the things you are
Best intro nr 2: St Thomas (London, 1986)
Io amo tutto di lui!
The middle is alright too XD

Oh my....., that scale run at 5:37 is just a magical moment.....Salute to Keith Jarrett!
sounds like mario kart 8 lap sound
His intros and outros make a man cry.

I listen to Keith Jarrett almost every day. It’s an obsession.

R.I.P Gary Peacock. Inolvidable trío. Grandes!!!!
I just don't know such words suitable to express my emotions. Great!
The Trio is salve for my soul. Bringing beauty to a crazy world
Keith Jarret my favorite pianist jazz forever

Muito expressivo!! Parabéns👏👏👏
Great musicians. Great music. About the video... no comment.
It's always a magic trip in Ouarzazate when l hear u dear Keith. Many thanks

E va bene.

Grazie Keith !✨
Once again, I find myself wondering what the “thumbs down” people were listening to... heart-wrenchingly beautiful.

Heart-wrenching ! there's the problem
can you imagine a world without Keith Jarrett?
It's easy if you try
I prefer The Piano Guys
No
No word could describe this beautiful music. . . just listen
so fucking what?
I agree .. på swedish = ja håller me´ .. a b s o l u t e
One of my favorite trios of all time. They play as if they were one person ... JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!
Keith and his Trio are legends. The music is timeless. What a marvel to listen to. I will still hear the sound when dead and gone.
Amazing Grace, for Christmas ! Thanks Keith !....
One of the most sensitive versions and most beautiful phrasing and endings a song, such as this one, may have.
Peace through music...as Art Blakey (Picasso) said: "Jazz helps to brush the dust off of day to day"...peace
Fantastic intro! So beautiful and soulful and creative! Love it!
Beautiful
Very nice played - beautiful!
Wow, this is as good as it ever gets
Soul, love passion, and everything underneath the sun.
He’s simply the best!
He's a pure genius, no doubt about it.
That’s for sure
There are a handful of greats. Then there’s Keith Jarrett. My opinion.
Simply divine!
Oh my what a great song played by The Great Keith .. He is the piano
I'm just in love with Gary's solo bass section, pure genius, mature and you can't find that in no other bassist
no, cologne is not his best, he doesn't like it, too.
Divine, Dear Keith.

thank you for your musical interpretation i lve this merci !!!!
Brilliant! Beautiful!
He is brilliant and the Trio itself is brilliant!! Love it!!
평범한 밤을 꿈속처럼 만드는 음악을 주셔서 감사합니다... 기쁨도 슬픔도 아닌 이런 묘한 감정을 표현할 마땅한 단어가 생각나질 않아요 ^^;;
Well recorded. Jazz full of humanity. Peacock! I studied music theory with him the year before this gig became a thing.
Dude was a beast. R.I.P.

n3uware Yeah me too!
Lucien Henry nice catch
Yeah! That's what I thought. Does anybody know what he is doing there? I mean from a theory point of view

Brilliant, brilliant ...
Where has this gentleman been...or me for that matter. Beautiful renditions...thank you.
They’ve all been around for decades. Unfortunately, however, bassist Gary Peacock passed away recently.
He played with Miles Davis at the Isle of Wight in 1970. Enjoy: th-cam.com/video/VBTM6blPbUQ/w-d-xo.html
He suffered from two strokes in 2018 and ceased touring. Suffered from

Amazing! A song played to start dreaming!

Magic in the hand ...
Beautiful song...
..the best trio ever!
Absolutely, no doubt about it
For me, and only me and my lost inner child. Muchas Love♥️
Phenomenal!
I never got tired of this. simply amazing.
Gary Peacock Yeah! Jarrett was sublime, and Jack, in their support here. A penultimate musical event.
just transposed the entire intro 48 seconds and it took me 7 hours, polishing will take a month or less, nice add to the massive set list. Must have Chi, and be able to apply it to the piano in feel and spirit to even come miles close to his presentation. Its a good day...
Could you share this transcription or did you learn it by ear?
If I could do that I would never leave the house. Just play forever
So damn good!
Quelle classe !!! 👍
He is listening to the music more than concentrating on what he is doing. Hardly looks at the piano.

I Wish You upon a star *

R.I.P. Gary Peacock (1935-2020)
Fascinating intro
